Alternative Rock music review FANS ONLY
TRACK LISTING 1. Father Of Mine 2. So Much For The Afterglow (LIVE-AUSTRALIA) 3. Heroin Girl (LIVE-TORONTO2) 4. Local God (LIVE-TORONTO2)

This CD is VERY GOOD! But you must love Everclear to buy it, its costs as much as most regular cds, and it only has 4 tracks. If you really like Everclear though I suggest you buy it. The number "2" is because they have a cd out called "Live from Toronto" that has Heroin Girl and Local God on it, but these are different recordings.

Alternative Rock music review EVERCLEAR ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!
I can't relate to this song but I Love what it is saying to the people who can! Everclear is the best band ever!!!!!!!! They aren't just 19 year old boys trying to make it, they use their exp. to write these songs. They are great.

Alternative Rock music review Any runners up? Hmm...I don't think so
This is probably the best song I have ever heard, though some may disagree. It's incredibly flexible--you could change the lyrics very easily, but the original theme of the piece is good enough already. Thanks, Everclear for making a very versatile song--and inspiring my own little "hit".

Alternative Rock music review What to say about Mukala...
I bought this album simply because one of the producers has the same last name as me... Stupid reason? Maybe... Good decision? Definitely!

I don't even know what to say about Dan Mukala other than I seriously wish he was still around. This album is so unique and fun, not to mention enlightening. Too many "Christian" bands have nothing more than positive lyrics. With tracks like "High" and "Jesus Shirt" there is little doubt where Mr. Mukala stands. And this album isn't all about the lyrics. Mukala has a nack for interesting and quirky little tunes. "Regret" will get your head shaking and "Skip to the End" will actually bring a smile to your face. Superb musicianship.

I miss you Dan.

p.s. It's pronounced "MUCK-uh-luh", not "MOO ka la" as I first assumed... ;)

Alternative Rock music review mukala is a musthava
This is a great album in the electronic-slacker category ala old Beck. The only twist here is that the lyrics are thought provoking and stand up to the quality of the music delivering a very satisfying experience to the consumer. The song "High" is probably my fave. It's dreamy ethereal quality is a perfect backdrop for this proclamation to our Creator. The other tracks stand up as well even though the album was recorded a few years back.

Alternative Rock music review Odd....
My mom used to orders CDs for me out of the Christian music catalogue. One day, I got this CD in the mail, even though we hadn't ordered anything for months. I listened to it and it was a good enough CD that I kept it. But no one has ever heard of it! None of the kids at the church I used to go to, none of the music sites, this is like the first place I've found that actually acknowledges that this was recorded. And my copy is so scratched up that I would throw it away, except that I haven't found another place that carries it. Strange.

Alternative Rock music review Gonna buy me a graveyard...
Simply put, this is one of the best albums ever, and save for THE CLASH's LONDON CALLING, I think THE GUN CLUB's FIRE OF LOVE just might be the best rock album ever, hands down, no contest. As a matter of fact, SEX BEAT just might be the best rock-n-roll song ever recorded, summing up the raw, ragged, sexy, unholy power of rock past, present, & future in under three minutes - but isn't that how the best of rock should be? I mistrust the current Jeffrey Lee Pierce idol worship circa 2006 - all I know is, I got this LP when it first came out on Slash in the early 80s as a teen and haven't stopped playing it since - it's almost three decades old and still puts most everything else in its path to shame. JLP and THE GUN CLUB never quite managed to scale these heights ever again (even if parts of MIAMI and LAS VEGAS are nice) - if you don't own this, you don't know good music, period.

Alternative Rock music review sick album that does damage
The Gun Club is an awesome punk band that everyone should know about. Sex Beat, She's Like Heroine to Me, and For the Love of Ivy are my favorites. The songs on this album rock and are really fun to listen to. In the words of the informercials "Get your credit card now"

Alternative Rock music review Essential for any respectable rock and roll collection.
The greatest rock and roll album ever made. With the standard makeup of vocals, guitar, bass, and drums, The Gun Club stripped away the fluffy production of the 70s that had infected even LA Punk bands and reached through the fog of corn whisky to the very swamp culture of depravity that inspired rock and roll in the first place. This is the album Panther Burns and Alex Chilton hoped to record, but never approached, and only the Cramps ever become a worthy satellite of. This is the Elvis we all always knew was underneath the jumpsuit when he said his backup singers "smell like catfish." Let us hold in abeyance the current faux-worship of Jeffrey Lee Pierce that has become a pedestrian given for dead rock figures. On the internet he has been elevated to the Jim Morison Throne of insightful poet. He never was, and I could care less, for the raw animal sensuality that the simple lyrics, beat, and illustrations Fire of Love offers are the only poetics one needs. Here is the invitation to the Bacchanal, with both Ivy and wine present, a mystery religion whose rites are held in the dark, we are lured there by the sounds of the lyre and drums of animal skin, but it all ends in a primal scream, and is as inevitable and as welcome as our own death.

Alternative Rock music review Awesome!
I have seen this band in person and I love them. They have the most awesome stage personalities and their music kicks (...). Majorly. I am proud to say that I got Renee's autograph! She's totally awesome and this band is so down to earth, unaware of their awesomeness! I TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS CD!!!!

Alternative Rock music review Awesomeness.
Hey look, I just made up a word! But it totally suits this local band: they are awesome. I'm part of their Street Team and I've been to at least 7 of their shows. I have Dean (bassist)'s guitar pick :). This band sounds like No Doubt... if you like them, then there's no doubt (lame, huh?) you'll like Emaneht. They are excellent performers live--some bands do not have the skills (for lack of a better word) to perform live, but Emaneht is outstanding. They are very nice people, welcoming and loves their fans, and new ones. They're down-to-earth and are easy to talk to.

This CD is amazing. I love every song on it, and it's a special treat to see them perform the songs I love live. I definitely recommend this album. So... don't wait another second, get it! And check the Emaneht website (www.emaneht.com) for their next show--they could be playing near you! :)

Alternative Rock music review emaneht is the BOMB baby!
I saw emaneht at a show in Portland and bought this album right after seeing them. It is definitely one of my favorite albums. I was hoping to see their new album online as they played songs from it at the show, but looks like it is not out just yet. I will keep checking as should everyone else!!!! The new album is going to be even better than Girl on Top which is so killer. If you don't own this one, you should buy it as I know you will love it.

Alternative Rock music review Best Black DressRocks!
Been following the Nields since my friend introduced to me in New Mexico when they were traveling through town. The music is cool, hip and danceable, particularly Best Black Dress and Taxi Girl. I always skip I Know What Kind of Love This Is Because it's just too blue so is All My Pretty Horses. The clever lyrics and unique blend of the sisters is something not to be missing. Seeing them live at the Iron Horse in Northampton, MA is just stellar. Looking forward to the new release in 2002.

Alternative Rock music review An Excellent Must Buy
This is one of the best "sing-a-long" albums. The songs are great. You can even understand all of the words. The Nields are the best.

Alternative Rock music review Make the world a slightly better place, buy this record.
In the lineage of intelligent pop masterworks by bands such as Squeeze, Split Enz, Prefab Sprout, and Crowded House stands The Nield's "Gotta Get Over Greta." Obvious comparisons to Joni Mitchel, Natalie Merchant and the Cranberries aside, The Nields offer up American pop that is without question, theirs alone. Bitterly delicious lyrics make the infectious music almost transparent. From their more folk/acoustic start they have managed to develop their fusion of musical styles. Katryn and Nerissa Nield's harmonies surpass almost any comparison in their expressive, plaintive yet unpresupposing honesty. This record is wonderful on so many levels that more than a year after it's release I cannot escape listening to it for more than a few days. A truly enriching journey that has no right to be SO musical. "Best Black Dress" and the title track alone are worth the price admission. That the sparse and undeniable "I Know What Kind Of Love This Is" and the challenging "King Of The Hill" are also on the same disc make this a must own. Picking just a few songs to mention by name is to do injustice to the entire record.

This is one of the best CDs that I have bought in a long time. I am bummed out that I missed their recent tour and am really looking forward to their next album, Babylon. Trust me, you will love it.

Alternative Rock music review Great new band. Sound great live.
I have seen Green Vinyl Dream about 6 times. They have been the opening act for Pat Benatar 2002-2003. They get better every time I see them. If you enjoy this album, their new album "Babylon" is even better.

Alternative Rock music review Hometown?
It was my understanding that at least 2 of the boys, Goran and Dejan at least, were from a small town called Munster, IN. But I keep seeing people saying they are from Milwaukee... What's the deal? We people from Munster need some sort of claim to fame!!!!

Alternative Rock music review Amazing
I first got into The Gufs while living in Milwaukee 8 years ago. I couldn't believe when I returned home to CA, that nobody had heard of them. Their music is beautiful, haunting, and I can listen to it non-stop!

I am still waiting for a new album. You won't be disappointed with either album.

Alternative Rock music review DOES GORAN SMILE ANYMORE?
Yes he does. I've known the band for lets see, almost 10 years now. I love their music. This is the just a rehash of the out of print "Collide" plus a few extras The band is phenomonal live. If you ever get a chance to see them, go for it.

Alternative Rock music review Full of Memories
"Hanging By a Moment" was the prom song my senior year of high school. Every time I hear it, it brings back memories of that special night.

Alternative Rock music review GREAT CD SINGLE; ONE OF MY FAVORITES!!
"Hanging By a Moment" is indeed a single that comes to life. This 4-song CD is not only worth 12 or 13 dollars of your money, but it's worth more. It will stand out in your collection- guarenteed.

Alternative Rock music review ASOME! CD

As a British dance-pop outfit, The Beloved found commercial success with Happiness both on and off the dance floor. Validated by the hit "Hello," they were able to configure the vocal-dance scene for chart consumption. Combining electric rhythms, orchestral slams, guitar leads, and sultry singing, The Beloved secure a niche that sounds like a happier version of New Order or Depeche Mode. Softened by wandering lilts and melodic hooks, the emotional feedback seeps through, impelled by the early-'90s pop conventions that brought them onto the scene. --Lucas Hilbert

Alternative Rock music reivew Happiness Indeed
This album greets you with a minor classic, "Hello" is the Eurosynth answer to Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire" managing to rhyme Jean Paul Sartre with Jeffrey Archer. It really doesn't let down from there - almost every track shines in their own way but particular highlights are "Time After Time" (NOT a Cyndi Lauper cover) and "The Sun Rising".

The Beloved's sound, while on the surface seem quite familiar (comparisons have been made to the Pet Shop Boys and New Order), on repeated listens a distinct sound emerges. In some ways they were pioneers - Jon Marsh's breathy vocals coupled with acoustic guitar strumming fit more with the electronica loungy scene as the popularity of the remixed version "The Sun Rising" attests to.

Regardless, like all true pop perfections, this album stands the test of time and still feels relevant 15 years after its release.

Alternative Rock music review Happiness Is The Beloved
After their 1987 indie-label debut, "Where It Is," the British group the Beloved, led by singer/songwriter Jon Marsh, changed musical direction and went into the world of synth-pop, making a considerable splash in 1990 with their second album, "Happiness," and it's name-dropping dance hit, "Hello." Simply put, this is a great album, with great catchy tunes, solid hooks, rhythms, and Marsh's smooth lead vocals. It's also the group's best album to date. Besides the memorable hit "Hello," there's also the beautiful "Time After Time" & "Don't You Worry," the incredibly sensual "The Sun Rising," the uplifting pop of "I Love You More," and the killer grooves of "Wake Up Soon." A true "feel-good" album if there ever was one, the Beloved's "Happiness" is a gem. Buy it right now!

Alternative Rock music review new stuff
Also checkout "Breakdown Euphoric Chillout (Disk 2)" and "Euphoria - Chilled Out CD2" for more of their stuff and new mixes. The Telstar "Euphoric" seires are progressive trance and great background music (Great to program to).
