haha...notice anything? yup you guessed it... most of these songs can curently be downloaded for free at relapserecords.com for the exception of track#7,9,and 16. Also Contaminated 7 is alot shorter(1 disc) than its predisesors contaminated 3.0, 5, and 6(2 discs). in my oinion though, the 3 songs that can't be downloaded at relapserecords.com are awesome and totally worth the $$$. so if your to stupid and/or lazy to download these songs, or just want a cool green cd with the presidents head drawn on it, than i highly suggest buying contaminated 7 for 59:10 of some of the best metal youll hear from Relapse Records. (-1 star for the absence of neurosis) relapse rules!!!

this cd is an almost one hour of bands giving your ears a beatdown. the only time it lets up is when Zombi is on. Zombi is certainly a better band than 27, but not by much. I like the low price of this compilation, 3 to 5 dollars at most record stores. pick it up today.

This is a tribute compilation of somewhat interesting Sonic Youth covers that sound very little like Sonic Youth. All but one song on this album are covers of pre-1993 Sonic Youth songs; the one exception being Little Trouble Girl, from the Washing Machine LP. However, although this collection of songs will be more enjoyable to the fan of early Sonic Youth, the songs themselves bring about such a distinctly new sound to these old classics that any SY fan will find something worthwhile in here.

The stand-out track is clearly the fun, sugary punk rendition of Eric's Trip by The Grenadas. Rapider Than Horsepower provides a very pretty string arrangement to go along with somewhat perverted sounding Jad Fair-like vocals on Little Trouble Girl. Elf Power pay a nice homage to Kotton Krown, with an acoustic guitar, piano, sitar, and male-female harmonies. Tub Ring redo the ever popular Kool Thing with a funny lounge/swing twist, including a robotic "chuck d." Saicobab (featuring Yoshimi of The Boredoms) end the album with a sitar-infused, Eastern harmonic rendetion of Death Valley '69.

All in all, a nice tribute compilation, especially for those Sonic Youth junkies out there.

Huge Radiohead fan here. Saw this and had to have it. Pleasantly surprised. This performance managed to stay true to the melodic themes of the original songs (especially the vocal melodies) while replacing the guitars and electronica of Radiohead with improvisational/classic bluegrass elements. Check out the groove of "National Anthem." Other high points include the percussion-heavy "Myxamatosis" and a gorgeous interpretation of "Fake Plastic Trees."
