Punk Compilations music review one of the best comps
Not So Quiet on the Western Front is one of the best comps because it offers most of the best hardcore/punk from California and Nevada at the time. I definitly recommend this to anyone who is new to hardcore,Check it out.

Punk Compilations music review The Alternative Tentacles/Maximum Rock & Roll compilation.
Ah, i didn't even know this had been reissued but i'm glad that it has.

There are a number of reasons why you should own this. One is that it's probably the best hardcore compilation ever recorded. At the very least it's every bit as good as "flex your head" or "this is Boston and not L.A".

Another is the line-up : Dead Kennedys, Crucifix, 7 Seconds, Fang, Flipper, MDC, Intesified Chaos, Code Of Honor, The Church Police, Capitol Punishment and pretty much ever other early 80's hardcore/punk/noise band from California you can think of.

But, the most important reason why you should own this is because it includes the song "holocaust" by M.A.D who were the early incarnation of Bl'ast!. This, to my knowledge, is the only M.A.D song that's ever been officially released from their 1982 demo tape. Anyway, you know the song that plays in the background at the start of "time to think" by Bl'ast! on the "power of expression" lp before the guitars crank up and the scattershot drums come in..? This is that very song.

Punk Compilations music review The Definitive NorCal Punk Compilation
This is it; this is the music that liberated thousands of my fellow Northern Californians. There's some truly kick-ass $hit on here. And while the styles range tremendously, every song on this album is good. And then some are GREAT, like "Pay Salvation" by Los Olvidados or "Breakout" by UXB. If you like Maximum Rock and Roll, you will love this album! This is a monument to nonconformity and I highly recommend it.

Punk Compilations music review Hit random and bang your head
A sleeper that demonstrates what happens when you take a bunch of indy bands and give them a good cause. In this case the cause is to support the suicide helpline, and the bands provide some of their best. Thrice's "Silhouette" sounds almost as good as Killswitch Engage's "End of Heartache" (although without Howard Jones' vox potenta), Shadows Fall unleashes a live version of its simultaneously psychotic and pensive "Thoughts Without Words." Contributions by Poison the Well, Silverstein, and Further Seems Forever add to the mayhem. Consider it aggressor ownership of the auditory senses.

Is it strange to have an assortment of thrash, speed, and core performing for suicide prevention charity? It should be noted that the Red Cross used "Halleluja" by Rufus Wainright, a song about loving hopelessly, to raise funds for the Nine-Eleven victims. Regardless, it's a good collection.

Punk Compilations music review very good
lots of good songs on this cd. Yellowcard stands out among them all. the other volumes are good too. check this cd out!

Punk Compilations music review simply mindblowing
When I bought this CD, all I was thinking about was the artists on this CD since I had purchased the previous Plea for Peace Take Action vol. 2 compilation and I knew it would be good. This CD was simply amazing. A good all around effort and the Cd introduced me to bands that I have never heard of before but like them now such as The Beautiful Mistake, Copeland, Fall Out Boy, Brendan Benson and the Wellfed Boys, etc.

Punk Compilations music reivew Electronica goes to Machu Pichu
This is a mood album filled with various electronic styles including drum & bass, trip hop, trance and dub. The interesting aspect of this CD is the concept of mixing "ethnic" sounds that give it a primitive meets electronica sound. Very trippy stuff that will have you feeling very relaxed as though you were among the clouds in the higher elevations of Machu Pichu. The music is inspired by samples taken from an Incan music recorded album by Inti Raymi a UK band. Lots of pan flutes mixed with all the above electronic elements including vibes, nature sounds and haunting melodies. The CD plays heavily on the dub technique. This a compilation of groups including such heavies as "Trans-Global Underground"and "Fun-Da-Mental" among others. Sometimes the sound is more Eastern sounding as with "TGU's" "Cazares Mix" a sort of Hare Krisna goes to a rave at the Festival of the Sun. "F-D-M" has "Sufi Inca" that has tablas mixed in with flutes, an odd mixture but an interesting musical stew. This is kick back music to listen to when you want to feel in an other worldly mood or mute the sound while watching the Discovery Channel. It could be the soundtrack for an Incan expedition. Just a side note, the cover has an artists rendering of the famous Aztec Sun Calendar, by the way Aztecs are not Incas, they were two different civilizations.

Punk Compilations music review I'll Give it an Easy 5 Stars Myself....
Yo no lie, this is a quality CD.... The Music is earthy and modern with that ancient indian vein running through it. Its true when the others say no other CD compares to it. Its one of a kind. Can I go so far to say that some of the songs give my soul a warm feeling? No joke about this CD.....

Punk Compilations music review Takes you to another level
I have had this CD since I started listening to techno/electronic music (about 4 years ago) and have not found a match for it quality-wise to this date. It is more thought provoking and emotionally stirring than any other CD I own; listening to it is an experience in itself!

Punk Compilations music review Absolutely Amazing
I can't believe none of the other reviewers haven't mentioned how amazing "Something That Produces Results" is by The Early November. It's their best song and is a new track off their new album. "Bite to Break Skin" is definately Senses Fail's best song. The New Something Corporate song is also amazing. This will be the best 6 bucks you have ever spent. Guarenteed. The Early November rocks!

Punk Compilations music review DTR Invasion Tour Comp!!
This is one of the best c.d's i've listend to in a long time. So here it goes the very first song on the cd is freaking amazing, "Bite to Break Skin" by Senses Fail is one of the most heaviest songs i've heard them do in a while, you also have alot of pop songs on here to like "Kiss me Diss me", by Home Grown and "Overrated" by Allister, and for all of you accoustic fans you've got an unreleased version of "Head on Collision" by New Found Glory and "Blown Away" by Steel Train. Another great future on the cd is when you play it on your computer you can access music videos to songs "Kiss me Diss me and " I want to hear you sad" by The Early November.

DTR ROCKS!!!

Punk Compilations music review Awesome CD!
this cd is worth buying for anyone who likes punk or rock. the only disappointment about this cd is that another drive thru band, called finch (maybe youve heard of them ;) ) isnt on it. but all the tracks are amazing. the live version of best of me by the starting line is amazing, as well as "kiss me diss me" by home grown and "overrated" by allister. every track on the cd is one to look forward to, and although the acoustic version of "head on collision" by nfg isnt as good as the real version, id still give it 5 stars! rock on drive thru records!

Punk Compilations music review Best CD I ever bought!!!!!!
How can you not love this CD set? $10 and 300 songs! The only problem with it is that it is hard to find any bad songs on CD. I love this CD because almost all of the bands are unknown so you most likely haven't heard of about 90% of the songs here. A definite must buy!!!

Punk Compilations music review Great CD
Wow What a great cd, 300 songs for 10 dollars!! This Cd is amazing, if you don't have it you should definatly buy it.

Punk Compilations music review Another Awesome CD For Asian Man
After buying Mail Order is Fun I just had to have Mail Order is Still Fun. I was right! This CD is packed with so many great songs from awesome ska/punk bands. Bands like Broadways, Slapstick, and The Wunder Years make this a great CD. Any punk/ska fan would love this CD! If you are looking to "waste" a couple of dollars from your paycheck. Buy this CD you won't feel like it was that much of a waste. Peace and Unity-Ash

Punk Compilations music review Good , cheap, fun.
Whether you're into the indie scene, or ska, or punk, or Asian people in general, 'Mail Order is Still Fun' is an awesome cd. (And if you hate it, then it was under 4 bucks anyways... no big deal.)

The best tracks on this album are "Spa" by Jonny Socko, "Korea is so far away" by Mike Park, "Trapped Like Rats in Myers Flat" by Slow Cherkin, and "Don't Sit Next to Me Just Because I'm Asian" by the B-Lee Band. Everything on here is pretty decent though. Most songs are really creative and funny as hell!

'Mail Order is Still Fun' is about an hour of fun energetic ska/punk. I can't think of any reasons NOT to buy it... so give it a listen and SUPPORT UNDERGROUND MUSIC!!!

Punk Compilations music review good music
This CD is really good, my favorites being an awesome song by The Muggs, Jamons, Slapstick, and Blue Meanies, but they are all excellent. Buy this and enjoy the low price

Punk Compilations music review A great little compilation.
Well, it would be hard for me to review this without getting all preachy on you, but I'll try. When I got into punk rock, I started to question stuff, and meat production was indeed one of them. I read up on why people believed meat was wrong, and decided that it was a good thing. I still didn't make any move to do anything about it.
But then I saw this record. It was cheap, for a good cause and had a lot of my favourite bands on it. So I bought it.
The inlay, may I say, was very well written and I began to think, well, if I don't believe in meat, why still eat it? Watching the enclosed video, Free Me, I decided there was no longer a place in my life for meat.
But back to this CD. If you enjoy punk music, I strongly recommend this. It is not a bunch of brain washing material (hey, play it backwards. Maybe it says: "Don't eat meat... meat is wrong...meat is bad...). It is a great little compilation of bands coming together to express their beliefs. I'd like to pick a favourite song, but I can't- they're all very good. So in conclusion, if you like Warped Tour/Punkorama style comps- get this. It is for a very could cause, and you will enjoy the music. Thank you.

Punk Compilations music review Try something different
This is a great cd. I am very new to the 'punk' genre of music (if you like) and this was a great introductory cd. I enjoyed the diverse mix of music from bands like the faint, goldfinger, good charlotte, the eyeliners and desaparecidos. I would recommend this cd to anyone who is new to this kind of music or who is already familiar with it as there are acoustic versions of songs as well as some that I believe are b-sides. It's cheap, charitable and good to listen to.

Punk Compilations music review Everyone you want on one album
There are a ton of these comps out there, but this one is my new favorite. The tracks by Good Charlotte and Midtown are cool acoustic versions. The song by The Used is sweet, and one I'd never heard before. Bigwig is my all time favorite band, I hope this CD brings them the attention they deserve. And if you are a Conor Oberst fan, you have to buy it just for the Desaparecidos track. It flows well, and has good variety without anything too weird stuck in the middle.

Punk Compilations music review best cd of the millenium
best idea for a cd ever! take three rad bands and put them on the same cd. the best part of this cd is that the material is all brand new!!!! dear people at takeover records: you had a great idea and you did a tremendous job seeing it through. This is my favorite cd in my entire collection because it's so much more then just one bands cd.

Punk Compilations music review Solid
These are 3 solid, solid bands, really like them all. Check out the Stole your Woman track, "Cameron with an H" and Over it's "Waiting". Not to mention all the rest are really good too.

Punk Compilations music review 3 great bands on one great cd!
all three of these bands are so amazing. it's awesome to have a release featuring all 3 at the same time. while these artists are not that huge yet.. the talent and sound of this 3-way is an indicator that they soon will be. 5 stars!

Punk Compilations music review best compilation EVER
i sought out this cd solely for the weezer track, you wont get with me tonight. i had no idea who else was on the cd other than mudhoney. when my copy of this cd came, and i went home to listen to it, i was in heaven. the iggy pop tracks are cool. the mudhoney song, hardon for war, is amazing. the pleasure forever tune, ing cobra in the guts of vallhalla, is also amazing. the dead meadow tune, lets jump in, is a 5 minute long metal-trip. its too great for words. all the rest of the tunes are also great. u need to have an open mind to like every song on this cd, but even if u dont, youll like at least 15 out of these 21 tracks, and thats more than a regular cd. like i said i bought this cd for the weezer track, cuz im an obsessive weezer fan. i waited 4 months for that song alone, and when i listened to it, it was amazing. its the best weezer song ive heard in a while. like i said im a huge weezer fan, to me, everything they do is amazing, but this track is too great for words. this cd is too brilliant to be this unknown. BUY THIS CD, you will not be disspointed

Average review score: Punk Compilations music reivew

Punk Compilations music reivew Good music? Perhaps. Punk? No, not really.
When I think "punk", I think Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Ramones, Crass, Operation Ivy, Subhumans, that sort of thing. Even casting this 'punk' net widely, most of the songs on this CD do not belong even to the periphery of the category. The rap song that starts the CD is more punk than some of other songs on there. This is not to say that the music is bad, exactly, but if you're looking for punk in the sense I've characterized above, you will be sorely disappointed. Buyer beware.

Punk Compilations music reivew Mullet Time
BTW, Nerf Herder's great goof, "Santa's Got A Mullet," is included here as a hidden track. Originally released on "High Voltage Christmas Rock" - according to the band, a "low budget, half-assed Christmas EP recorded (while drunk) to give out to our friends." In 2001, Nerf Herder had 1000 copies of the "Christmas Rock" CD pressed up professional-style for general consumption.

Punk Compilations music reivew I enjoy christmas
I love christmas music so i was excited when i picked this up. Even though i wouldnt exactly call this a "punk rock" christmas cd, theres lots of good emo/pop/punk bands on it. I do enjoy the 12 days of christmas song. This cd is filled with emo/pop/punk bands playing there own christmas songs and some holiday favorites. I enjoy listening to this but i like my christmas cd's i make better but i would get this if u like christmas music done by emo type bands and some pop/punk bands.
