Industrial music review Thirwell and Mossiman Strike An Indelible Chord
Thirwell ,AKA Clint Ruin, had for many years on his FOETUS related projects projected a wild enthusiasm for music and lyrics. The development of his unique sound made an incredible peak on "NAIL" and I feel this WISEBLOOD release with Mossiman from SWANS takes that sound to the next level- something I thought not possible. Mossiman really brings a great influence to this CD. These two really made some great music together. If you like FOETUS and you have not heard this, I strongly recommend you check it out!

Industrial music review Not your everyday Foetus
I don't consider Wiseblood another Foetus project. Roli Mossiman (Swans) and Jim Thirlwell (Foetus) created a beast straight out of the swamps. Industrial beats with hot licks, power chords, and vocals that owe much to lounge and heroin slack.

This also has the Stumbo 12" and Motorslug 12" mixes tacked on.

Indespensible if you like Industrial before Ministry's Land of Rape and Honey.

Industrial music review internal paradoxl anger
Stumbo is the cornerstone to the industrial movement, it captures the complexity, anger humor and intorspective analysis of its day. It defines a neuronal synaptic impulse of intense magnitude and must, most definatly must be played very very loud! I recomend listening to the entire CD with a friend in an old Dodge Dart at 3am.

Industrial music review MAR1LYN MAN5ON-ROCK GODS?...I THINK SO!
The first time i ever heard any music from Marilyn Manson was when 'Sweet Dreams' was a radio hit and thought it was a cool cover and went out and bought 'Smells like Children' I thought the album was so-so.Then one September day in 96'I was watching MTV and a video came on by the band called 'The Beautiful People' instantly I fell in love with the song. October 8th 1996 'AntiChrist Superstar' was released i went out and bought it that day.At first I thought the album was alright liking only 4 or 5 songs. But as months passed more and more the album started growing on me.Then January 7th 1997 the band was in concert in my hometown and thought it would be cool to go. L7 was the opening act they were alright but then Manson and family came out starting the show with one of my favorite songs 'Angel With The Scabbed Wings'.I remember just sitting there falling in love with this band. There were things I thought were disturbing untill I let Marilyn Manson into my soul. After the concert Went home and immediatly put 'AntiChrist Superstar' on and fell in love with the whole album. The next day i went out and bought 'Portrait of an American Family'.I listened to it and liked it but i was more for the industrial sound of 'AntiChrist...'.but after a while I started falling in love with 'Portrait...'and'Smells like...'.I started listening to soundtrack singles and falling in love with them and hearing some of.The Spooky Kids demos and falling in love with those.I started reading on Manson even buying his book 'The Long Hard Road Out Of Hell'.Finding my self interested in him as a person.September 15th 1998 'Mechanical Animals'was released I went out and bought it at 12a.m.At first i was kind of freaked out because the album was much slower then the previous but as i listened to it more and more i couldn't stop listening to it.Songs like 'Great Big White World''Mechanical Animals''Last Day On Earth'and'Coma White' just started meaning something to me just like 'Reflecting God''Dried Up,Tied Up,and Dead To The World''Tourniquet''Cake and Sodomy'and many more songs of the previous albums did.Alot of people i knew were thinking he soled out.But they dont know what Marilyn Manson is about.I went to New Port Richeay,Florida.to go to the 'Rock is Dead'tour with some friends that live down there.March 27th 1999, Tampa.Fl.The concert was eveything i expected it to be playing songs from all the albums.Go see him in concert that will show you Marilyn Manson is still Marilyn Manson.I love every song this band has ever made and always will.

Industrial music review THE DOPE SHOW!
We're All Stars Now, In The Dope Show! These words are, are just hypnotizing! Marilyn Manson changed Person, I can just feel it! This is different kind of music than the Antichrist Superstar, and I LIKE IT!

Industrial music review i never liked MM until I heard this CD, now I love him!!!!!!
I alwayz hated Marilyn Manson, then I listened to the "Mechanical Animals" CD, and i cant stop, i love it so much, I used 2 love Rap and R&B and stuff and now Marilyn Manson and Korn are 2 of my FAVORITES!!!!

Industrial music review Brilliant Up and Coming Industrial Band
I cannot recommend this band highly enough! If you are a fan of NIN, Deftones, Manson,A perfect Circle, Tool ect.. you will love AOTL. The songs are well structured melding the traditional and the electronic. The lyrics are thoughtful and intelligent yet convey a great depth of emotion. I fell in love with this band the very first time I heard INTROVERT and am looking forward to watching them mature in future releases. I wish they would come to Australia I would LOVE to hear them live.

Industrial music reivew Great....almost
This CD is great - I was at the tour and this CD brought it all back, but it features only one song from Rammstein!!!??? They were the co-feature act with Korn so why did they only have one song on this CD? (That's obviously the only thing keeping it from being 5 stars)

Industrial music review Brilliant
Well. Family Values? This tour must have been grande. Because of this CD, I have had to get all of Rammsteins albums, plus albums from Incubus, Orgy and Korn. This CD cost me too much money in the long run, but hell, its great! Buy it now!

Industrial music review This is the best CD, it's a complete mix of all my faves
I'm listening to it right now, and I can truthfully say it makes writing this review that much better

Industrial music review i bought the promo of this in '94
back in '94 i found the promo of this album. limited to 1500 copies. i'm both surprised and pleased to discover that it's been released and others can enjoy it.

Industrial music review No Words
No words could explain how I felt the first time I put this cd into my cd player and pushed play. You know that feeling you get when you at peace, that like chill of calm that runs over your body <- That is what I felt.

Industrial music review a "must have" for any fan of the crow
I am a big fan of "The Crow" movies and soundtracks. When I saw this CD, I purchased it mainly for the novelty of it. To be honest, this CD took some time for me to warm up to. It does not have the mainstream bands/titles on it that have gotten radio time like on the soundtrack of "The Crow" and "The Crow - Salvation" I'd say this CD comes somewhere between the original "Crow" CD and the instrumental "Crow" soundtrack by Graeme Revell. "Fear and Bullets" has good vocals and good instrumental tracks. Now that I've warmed up to the CD, it's probably one of my personal favorites in my collection. If you enjoyed the dark tones in the other crow soundtrack CDs, you will like this album.

Industrial music review BRUTAL
WOW. This stuff is hard. Mainly on the second cd. I actually blew two of my headphone sets out listening this album. I highly recommend this if you are looking for fast, double-bassed, ear splitting, head throbbing techno.

Warning:
*Don't buy this if you are offended by drug or sex content*

Industrial music review Self-Explanitory
There's a warning label on this CD "Warning: This the Hardest Techno Ever". And yes, it is (for those of you who are unfamiliar with the genre). An excellent hardcore compilation, not for those into wannabe-hardcore. And, don't be fooled by the samples above, it gets way harder... Especially on the 2nd disc, with tracks by The Berzerker, DOA, and Unexist.

Industrial music reivew If you like this kind of music....
Die Form's latest album In Human, is a strange but delightful blend of the vaporous voice of Eliane P. and the varied voice and synthetics of Philippe Fichot. This album is the first part of a diptych, with the following album being entitled Ex Human.

Known as a French S&M band, their sounds combined are a lovely apparition you should welcome into your soul. The CD runs the gamut; there are beats to shake your bootie to, as well as some ethereal romantic tunes incorporated with the top notch voice of Eliane P. The lyrics are a well-balanced combination of deep and sinister subjects with spatters of dark spiritual themes. Only Die Form can make taboo subjects such as necrophilia sound so romantic!

The CD booklet shows beautiful dark disturbing explicit Gothic type images. Kids, ask your parents before purchasing! Nudity is abound here, but done is a tasteful way.

The color purple is what I see when I hear these tunes. A deep muted purple, and visions of mist filled dark forests speckled with hidden aged tombstones. This album, in my opinion is true to Gothic Electronic form. Absolutely exquisite! They definitely have their own very distinct sound.

Again, Metropolis has sample sounds off of this new album. This album gets 4 from me. I enjoyed the uniqueness of this sound, as well as the balance of light and dark. I look forward to hearing Ex Human to see the contrast of the two albums.

Industrial music review Amazing
This cd is amazing, a must if you like Die Form. I have the Extremum, Suspira de Profundis & L' ?me electrique, but Inhuman is my new fav.

Industrial music review Consistently great
As I expected it would be, this album is great, and true to Die Form's style of the last decade. Philippe just never lets his fans down, does he? (Just as a remark to the first review above, I thought it was great and very timely that he re-issued all of Die Form's rare and out-of-print work. I was going crazy trying to find some of their earlier albums ...) But back to InHuman, it's a great new treat for those of us who just cannot get enough of Eliane's heavenly voice underlined by Philippe's vocals from hell, blended to perfection, and carried by an unending creativity in their melodies and rythms. And yes, the artwork is beautifully disturbing. My only criticizm of their new work would be that although their album is consistently outstanding by Die Form standards, not a single one of the tracks seems to grab and take the listener's breath away like some of the tracks on Confessions, L'Ame Electrique, and Duality did.

Industrial music reivew Good music, terrible vocals.
I'm giving this CD 2 stars based ONLY on the music up to the last two tracks (where there's nothing to recommend at all). Why is it that so many electronica bands seem to think that singing consists solely of screaming without any discernable melody? I loved the music on most of the tracks, but then each track was ruined for me as soon as the vocals began. Hey, I can scream too...but it takes real talent to actually sing. I'm just glad I bought this used off Amazon and I'm only out about $7. I'll try to pawn this off on a co-worker, or resell it at Amazon. What a waste. Who cares if the words are good if they're screamed at the top of someone's lungs? This is NOT GOOD ELECTRONICA. I do know the difference--there are several good electronica bands out there (Juno Reactor, Apoptygma Berzerk, Afro-Celts to name but a few). I wish I had a way of isolating just the music...

Industrial music review NUMB; where are you?
Numb is one of the best industrial acts you'll hear. Harsh, gritty and catchy vocals by David Collings grind with some really incredible electronic synth melodies. Most of Blood Meridian is Medium Paced, with highlights being Blind, No Time ('Again'), Stalker, Desire and Dirt. Unlike most industrial acts out there, Collings screaming vocals are great, and loud enough to actually hear amidst the music. A little more variety in tone and volume would've made it even better, but it still rocks!

The lyrics are really unique, consisting of many cool sounding words of 'conscious streaming thoughts' no doubt referenced from Don Gordon's intellect; or a dictionary. "Test tube, mammoth wasting, asphixiated, dying in the grey..." as an example from BLIND.

If you enjoy harsh, violent sounding electronic music, you have to buy this album. And then check out Numb's Language of Silence and Wasted Sky (Different singer); both of which kick @ss, BM being the strongest.

Last I read, Don Gordon is living in Vietnam, David Collings in Canada. Not exactly hopeful they'll get back as NUMB.

Oh, if you dig this album, check out CARBON 12's 'Very Harsh Frequencies', which has a very Numb-like sound to it, by Steve Tushar.

NUMB: Blood Meridian Album: 10/10. The best industrial album ever made. I'm serious.

Industrial music review intelligent
comparing this album or NUMB to anyone/thing else seems to miss the point all together. what is the point? listen and i'm sure you will find out. intelligence. art. these guys had something seriously going on... and it wasn't three-cord progressions for the radio, nor catchy beats for the dance floor... though one can definitely move to this album (on the dance floor)physically and especially intellectually.

enjoy.

Industrial music reivew Typically great.
Great cover, but like every Dwarves release (except "Lick It"), it's way too short. Some will say that's good. Hit and run and all that sort of thing. I say, you can never have enough Dwarves.

There is no one Dwarves release that's a must-have. All are pretty good in their own right (though don't start with "Lick It"). This is as good as any place to start, as it gives you a feel of what to expect from the band at its best.

And that cover? Did I mention that? Sexy and dangerous.

If you love N'Sync, stay away.

Industrial music review The Dwarves defy everyone and do it again...
Just when we thought we'd heard the last of The Dwarves, they release this one from out of nowhere. Not only is it their most professional (you can hear their evolution from garage punk) but it's also track by track the most complete. There's less of an all out brute force sound to this one. It's more refined, but still definately those delightfully mysogynistic Dwarves. You either love them or hate them. "I Will Deny" and "The Crucifixion is Now" are my two favorite tracks, though every one of them stands on its own well.

Industrial music review Just a tease of the talent that lies within...
My best suggestion to any/everyone in respect to the Dwarves, is--Listen between the lines...Take an interest in the bass player's talent that knows no boundaries. Trust me on this! "without his match, there is no flame," and as I once read," A mouth without a kiss is just a worthless hole"--how true. Certainly 'punk' and psychadelic, however, to make one's mark, you must be one step ahead of the rest. Beyond his own years in talent, the band is lucky to have such an inspiring, gifted attribute. Thank Heaven for days spent in the rain in an old garage. Keep up the great work and PLAY--HARD!!!

Industrial music reivew Explore the dark side...
I purchased both Embody and Ephemeral at the same time and definitely find Ephemeral the better of the two. Embody is just a little too dark/cold, and I find I get irritated by some of the songs; they seem too repetetive and go on a little too long (starts grating on the nerves); although I can't get track 3 out of my mind which I feel is absolutely beautiful!

I also own Delerium's Karma and Semantic Spaces and to me there may be similarities in the 2 groups' styles but they definitely put me in different headspaces. Delerium is more upbeat and great for background music at a party, while Synaesthesia is somewhat cold and more appropriate for an session of solitude and introspection. Both groups however, are great for long lonely roadtrips!

Industrial music reivew One of Delerium's Many Side Projects...
As some of you may already know, Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber have worked on a number of bands together. Most notable Frontline Assembly and Delerium. Synaesthesia is just one of a few of their lesser known incarnations, and probably the most ambient out of the bunch. This is not to say that there is no bite to the songs in this album. Check out the first song "Outland" to find an interesting beat along side sampled chanting.Contract issues keep them from taking credit for the songs on this disc (they are credited to R. Deckard). However, they are responsible for "sonic manipulation and production. The common view is that Leeb and Fulber were more involved than is implied. It was released shortly after Delerium's "Semantic Spaces" album, and the similarities between them are indeed apparent. However, "Embody" concentrates more on atmospherics rather than the beat, to create something that stands on its own. There is certainly more of a electro-tribal feel to the music, the likes of Steve Roach, thanks to the use of ethnic sound samples and lack of a dancefloor hooks. This, however, is a good thing, as it makes for an engrossing listen, showing that electronica is more than simple techno. Perhaps the highlight of the album apart from the opening are the final two tracks. "Submerged" begins with distorted samples washing over everything and gradually building, until the beats break in about a minute and a half in. The melody always floating on top of everything. "Floatation" is another wash of synths, rushing in and out throughout the whole song. The beats and percussion are muted and minimal, as the synths carry one through it all, floating on a river of dark sound. Fans of tribal Delerium take note, this is satisfactory, though not excellent.

Industrial music reivew Synaesthesia - another version of Delerium
As a through and through Delerium fan, and having read that Leeb and Fulber had produced this CD, I was expecting the sound of Synaesthesia to sound familar to Delerium. What surprised me was how similiar it sounded to Delerium's Semantic Spaces album as well as Karma album. If anyone has to look for evidence, look no further than Track 4: Door To the Otherside that sounds like a track out of 'Spheres 1' of Delerium. Sometimes the sounds are too identical to distinguish and however this CD can stand on its own merit. It is worth listening to for any fan of early Delerium for it incorporates the ethereal, ambient and tribal feel with the sounds and tastes of industrial and soft gothic. While this CD is not better than anything of early Delerium it sure surpasses the recent Delerium of 'Chimera'.
