WOW... THIS CD IS SO AWESOME ITS TOTALY WORTH THE MONEY! TRUST ME, GET IT, YOU'LL LOVE IT

Industrial music review Great Compilation
I bought this on the strength of BK's name- I love his track "BK/ Nick Sentience- Noise", and got this. I am not disappointed! Both CDs are great in different ways, so whether you are a commercial clubber or a credible cainer, you will enjoy either or both of these CDs. My Faves: Cortina- Music Is Moving (Bassline gets me nodding every time I hear it!), Astra- I Need It, and Tony De Vit- Are You All Ready.

Great tunes.

Industrial music review Most pleasant and thoughtful
This is the best cd that has ever been made.

The Broken Heart of Man

Industrial music review Tibet's masterpiece
Taking the styles developed on Thunder Perfect Mind which took well-developed folk formats and very lush scores similar to the band Sands, Of Ruine or Some Blazing Star is truly an inspirational and original album which is probably the pinnacle of David Tibets creative talent. Pulling away from his tape loop styles slightly this album mixes the right amount of noise and melody to make it an album that always has great replay value. Owning this album for nearly a decade I never am bored by it and rate highly

Industrial music review my all time favourite record
This is, without any doubt, one of the best c93 records. It is incredibly cohesive both in music and quality/imagery of the lyrics (it is said in the liner notes it should be regarded as one piece of music), but it doesn't get even close to being boring at ANY point of the whole recording. Why? Because the substance, the meaning, the point the album develops from the very beginning til the end is extremely powerful, completely focused and vivid. What supports the meaning of the words is incredible passion and enthusiasm of Tibet's vocal which has meaning within itself. You could listen to the WAY he expresses himself without listening to the actual words and actually hear everything. Every little subtlety is there in his voice. Also, his poetry is extremely inspired, it always is, but on this record particularly. The music supports the vocal perfectly. It is consisted of Cashmore's guitar compositions which are really incredible and very effective drones by Steven Stapleton which really do add a surreal and deeper tone to it all, shifting music to some other plane (as if it wasn't shifted already). The drones swirl around Cashmore's guitar and Tibet's voice taking compositions out of time and space. This piece of art is timeless as it deals with things that shall exist as long as there are humans. Do not miss this delicate spiritual experience.

Industrial music review Your thoughts close doors but it's of no concern of yours
This was the album that made me buy more Cabaret Voltaire records. I must say that this was and still is great. From the opening swings of Just Fascination to the stuttering brilliance of Sensoria ( d-d-d-do right ), this album has it all. Admittedly it may not leave you as paranoid as the 78-82 collection but it has enough to satisfy you. It's also probably the best way to start your collection of CV because the early stuff is probably a bit too much to start off with

Industrial music review "Once 'I' was a lonely playboy"
At last, Sensoria on CD....and it's the 12" version. Before House music dominated the club scene, The Hacienda club in Manchester, England, used to play an eclectic mix of music on Saturday nights. Sensoria was one of those tunes.

I've had most of their vinyl for years, but at last I now have the convenience of some of their best on CD.

Industrial music review Godfathers of techno
I picked up this CD recently while in Rome. It has 12-inch remixes I never thought would see the light of the CD day. A real boon for those of us too lazy to transfer our old vinyl. Hey, kids, pick up this CD and kiss the collective ring of the techno godfathers. If you think techno is where it is at, here's a source for your river. Drink it up.

Industrial music review A Must Have For TKK Fans
Hardcore fans of "My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult" will find this disc spinning in their cd player for some time to come. The collaboration between Groovie Mann and William Tucker is nothing short of genius. It's a shame that fans of this type of music were cheated with William Tucker's untimely passing! Buy this disc and try not to play "Untitled End" repeatedly! It's a brilliant track!

Industrial music review "Inspired by the Prince of Darkness"
I bought this album on a whim while in New Orleans, the "City of Sin." Armed with my portable CD player and a set of headphones, I roamed the streets of the "Big Easy" listening to this brilliant album for the first time. If Satan were in a band, this is what it would sound like. This album is dark and intoxicating, and conjures up images of selling yourself to the dark side. The fact that it is considered a "demo" cut rather than a polished "studio" effort adds to the eerie vibe dripping from every pore of this dark creation. I have hundreds of albums spanning just about every genre one can imagine. But I must confess, I don't have one quite as unique as this. It is truly inspired and fueled by the prince of darkness. To truly enjoy this album, the listener must be able to look into the dark corners of their own soul without necessarily giving into it. I would consider this album among the top 5 Goth Industrial albums of all time, and a definite underground cult classic. Listen to it solo if you think you can handle it. Groovie Mann will never be able to best this.

Industrial music review One of the most sadly overlooked records of all time
I agree with what other reviewers have said here, but think it's worth adding that not only are there some amazing songs on this record, but the band behind Connelly is awesome too. Martin Atkins is brutally good on drums and Chris Bruce adds some of the coolest guitar playing I have ever heard.

Industrial music review no comparison to anything
For a long time i was really into industrial and goth but knew nothing of the roots. It turned out that when I evicted a tenant from a building a stack of cd's were left behind, this among them. I ignored it for nearly four years and then one day noticed his name on another CD so i got curious and popped this in. this defines chris among the founders of the Goth/industrial circuit, along with jurgenson, koinetzko, with groops like einstruzed neubauten and 1000 homo djs. notice these are the most dissimilar of the genre meaning he i consider is responsible for a totalyly different branch but equally worthy as the others. the former review puts him in the same vien as other artists, my only question, how can you use other artists as a root of comparison with their father

Industrial music review Not What You Expect
Like myself and a lot of people, you associate Chris Connelly with Ministry, Revolting Cocks, and his work with KMFDM. I enjoyed his vocals on Ministry's "So What" so much that I decided to look into his solo album. This album is nothing like any of the aforementioned bands. There is very few remnants of industrial metal here, a lot of it is expiremental lounge jazz rock. Before this album, I didn't even know I liked music like this. It has opened my mind to appreciate so much more, if your looking for Ministry's Chris Connelly, you won't find him here, you'll find a well thought out and crafted album that is a pleasure to listen too.

Industrial music review Fantastic
If you have Scots blood in your veins, or in your heart, this is it...Incredible, thought provoking...must have

Industrial music review Mesmerizing
Just beautiful. In every respect. If there is one, just one, drop of Celtic blood in your body this album is for you.

If you have a son, well, then, this album is a must.

Industrial music review Fly Onward!!!!~
This is ethereal, even ecstatic! - The ageless soul of this most beauteous poetry~~it enlivens me, and even oncemore....

Any enhanced soul may absorb the beauty of "Jacob's Pillow" and "To Eireann." ~ And any frost-bit spirit may find heat in tunes such as "Dive Deep" and "Teardrop In The Sun."

I have many-times listened to these in my search for musical rhythm beating the pre-disposed metronome to my own shadow-tinted heart! And herein, I assure you, I have found it!

Industrial music review Just read the review.
If you are into House music, this is a classic you must own. Not because it has a great music selection or even the pretty box that it comes in for that matter but for it's mixing aspect of it. This album deserves the spot on your music collection as it brings out a unique form of music to your ears. This is what NYC underground huse music is about and simply put, this album defines it for you. I guarantee you that this album will blow your mind.

Industrial music review Buy this one!!!
This CD set is amazing! Jonathan Peters creates a dark, sexy vibe and keeps taking it higher and higher over the course of two CDs. Can't recommend this one enough. "The Hurting" from Mac Quayle featuring Donna DeLory is by far the best cut but they are all hot. The companion DVD showing the Sound Factory crowd experiencing this music is kinda fun too. Hurry up and grab this one and get ready to FEEL IT!!!

Industrial music review HELL YEAH!!
So I bought this album again after playing the original vinyl to death... I bought it first years ago... 30 now and this album still raises a smile... U just have to listen to Bedrock and Ramrod to start grinning at the superb writing style of this guy... then experimenting in sound with the next few tracks... Then we get The Only Good Christian... Has to be listened to to be believed... a super track...
All in all this album is a must for all you people who like their music on a different vine... Just catch OKFM and you'll know what I mean...
Five stars are well deserved with this one... after all where else can u find so many styles of music on one cd?

Industrial music review span
I say "span" because the music on this cd spans the first decade of Foetus & spans so many different kinds of music he did in that time. There are some songs with Foetus's pared-down minimal jazz-swing sort of. There's a song with a sample straight out of The Rite of Spring by Stravinsky. There's some completely ambient music with nothing but silence & what sounds like some looped scratching/twisting. There's a song,"The Only Good Christian Is Dead", that feels to me almost like a good ole Mississippi hoedown -- made putrid & nightmarish by Foetus. Toward the end of some of the earliest crazy bizarre quasi-dance songs. & OKFM, the first Foetus song from the first Foetus release, is so wild. I've never heard anything else like it. Have I already said this is 20 songs from Foetus singles? Do you already konw that? Anyways, Sink is good.

Industrial music review woo!
i honestly don't really like this album that much. i'm just giving it five stars cuz i love 'dead christian' and 'wash'. the rest is cool, but there could be way more to the music. it feels like there's a lot missing. he has cool ideas though. really goofy. he sounds like an announcer at a rollerskating rink or something and he really really likes his job. and then there's the really loud drums... the drums rule so much. they just sound so good. it's like 'stomp' style industrial or something. but it could be a lot better.

the two songs i mentioned are great. there's some other goodies, but i'm mostly giving this a high rating cuz i want to see what other artists amazon is gonna recommend because i like this.

Industrial music reivew Awesome! Awesome!!! Show BUT the
I purchased this cd based on their live performance I saw at Mabel Peabody's Denton, TX. There Live show was unbelievable it was the only thing I could think about for months after the show. I would of bought the cd at the show but I didn't bring any extra cash. The drummer was dead on that night she drove that ship into uncharted territory it was a wild ride. The pulse coming from her base drum was in perfect time and rumbled the whole room. It was as if GOD and SATIN were at battle right there in the room. The rest of the band followed suit and road that wave of pulses from her drum kit. Tristan the devil himself lead vocalist and keyboardist was their master driving his chariot whipping his horses (the band) to go faster. Their performance was on the edge it was has if one wrong move the show could come crashing down into violent bloody brawl. The energy coming off the room was the same. However, when I purchased the cd after a 3-month search I was greatly disappointed. The energy was gone from the cd that I got from the live show now it is just watered down noise that I so hardly appreciated at the club.

Industrial music review Will Blow Your Mind.......
From start to finish, Private/Public is totally different from anything else you will hear that's come out recently. If you are a fan of early Neubauten, Swans, etc., you will value this record and put it high up on your stack of cds. Flux is easily one of the best I feel lucky enough to have discovered in the past five years...

Industrial music review diving energy
This is a classic example of a band that does not get the attention deserved. If you happen to stumble onto this page you are probably looking for something different. Private/Public is uniquely different without alienating your average listener. Their primal electrified beats are magnetic and the vocals border on chaotic but well placed. It has captured the attention of everybody that I have played it for. Unless you are a New Yorker, you will have to pick this up here or at young god records because, unfortunately, you will not find it at you local record store.

Industrial music reivew Good but not their best
I've been an OOMPH! fan for about 2 years now and so far I've collected all of their albums except for the first two, which I'm still working on. It's quite interesting to see how this band has progressed over the years, from their early days as an EBM outfit to becoming one of the originators of the German industrial metal movement, later followed by such bands as Rammstein and Megaherz. Although Rammstein may be the biggest band of the genre, I honestly think OOMPH! should be the one selling out concerts worldwide - as I think their music is even catchier and would more likely appeal to a wider audience.

This is probably OOMPH!'s best-selling album to date, due mostly to the success of the single "Augen Auf!" (Eyes Open!), which received a lot of airtime in central Europe and became the band's 'anthem' so to speak. It's a pretty cool song if I must say so myself, but I don't quite like it as much as "Supernova" or "Das Weisse Licht" from previous releases. I think the albums strongest moments are its most melodic ones (as expected with any OOMPH! album), which in this case are "Wenn du Weinst" (When You Cry), "Der Strom" (The River), "Tief in Dir" (Deep in You) and the mesmerizing closer "Im Licht" (In the Light). In addition, the limited edition CD (also available on Amazon and at a cheaper price!) contains the single "Brennende Liebe" (Burning Love) featuring Sonja of the Austrian darkwave band L'Ame Immortelle, which I also recommend giving a listen.

The only problems I have with this album are that 1) not all of the songs stand out to me (which is typical with most albums I own), and 2) for some reason I'm not too crazy about the production. It sounds as though everything is pushed up too far to the front of the mix and I much preferred the cleaner, more subtle sound of Plastik and Ego. Still, it's not a big deal and doesn't really affect my opinion of the CD as a whole. This is grade A music that should be selling out everywhere, and hopefully the band will still get their chance to make it big in the US someday. They deserve it far more than the multiplatinum artists that do make it big here.

Similar artists: Rammstein, Megaherz, Joachim Witt, Eisbrecher, Such a Surge, Stahlhammer, (newer) Samael

Industrial music review develops over time
This was the first Oonmph! album I purchased, haing seen the "Augen Auf!" video online. My curiosity grew, and i purchased "Ego", "Plastik", and "Unrein". This album has develpoed much more than the mentioned albums in that the melodies are smoother, the harder pieces and chorus's seem to have matured more. My favorite piece would probably be "Der Strom" (the river).

Industrial music review Best Oomph!
I have all of Oomph!'s albums. They are the greatest industrial group I have ever encountered. The vocalist/drummer's voice is so powerful it makes you jump and shout. The guitars are great too. There's no one criticism that I can come up with for this CD. All the tracks are great and stick to your mind like that [snapping fingers].
