Industrial music reivew Lullaby showcases songwriting
Those who are familiar with Fearing from his work with Blackie and the Rodeo Kings will not be disappointed by his solo work. Industrial Lullaby is a well-written, well-performed effort.

The sparse production allows Fearing (of fellow Rodeo King Colin Linden) to come right up close instead of being relegated to below a pile of studio rubble.

At times, Fearing meanders dangerously towards the preachy, protest type of music. But Fearing redeems himself with such gems as "Home" and the sweet reflection of "Corryana."

Industrial music review HAVE NO FEAR(ing)??? ....BUY THIS!
I've been looking for anything by this dude for ten+ years...ever since I learned he penned "The Most Beguiling Eyes" at a Gregson & Collister show in Seattle circa 1990. I was not disappointed as this disc is pure brilliance! A splendid combination of lyrics, vocals & guitars. I was instantly in love after the initial chords of "The Upside Down", though the biggest payoff was later --- I knew he was a Canadian (Clive informed us he was from Vancouver at the Seattle show), but imagine my delight when I was pegged to the tune "Blind Indifference" by the searing electric guitar and went scrambling for the liner notes to confirm that yes, it was Bruce Cockburn lending his mastery to this offering. The liner notes gave it away that I could anticipate Margo Timmons singing on the tune immediately following, though it diminished the enjoyment not a wit.

Stephen is obviously a well travelled poet who's talent defies his lack of publicity --> score this disc and impress your friends before he (hopefully) secures the acclaim he deserves!

Industrial music review Blown Away!
I stumbled across this guy during a performence at a small music club in Calgary, Alberta two yers ago. I had heard he could play but I had no idea! He blew me away. He stood alone centre stage with a single guitar and created 2 hours of music that left me speechless. If you're a fan of John Hiatt, you'll go crazy for this guy. On a different note, check out "Blackie and the Rodeo Kings". Stephen plays with this threesom of great guitarists and they just Rock! I've purchased and enjoyed all Fearing's albums but Indsutrial Lullaby is in my core group of "Driving Albums". It is superb. Thanks Stephen.

Pitch Shifter, who once drew inspiration from Godflesh, reach beyond the constrictions of industrial metal to explore the vast possibilities of electronic sound. The band's Infotainment? is a visceral noise feast that combines crushing rhythms and cutting edge riffs with metallic techno and jungle beats. The result is the violent, chaotic sound of a society whose technological advances rapidly and unknowingly lead it to oblivion. Revel in the apocalypse. --Jon Wiederhorn

Industrial music reivew another take frlom this band..
pitchshifter has somehow endured a number of style changes without losing their fanbase, something decidedly rare in music now. this cd, sadly hard to find now, provides their earlier playings with adding electornica into their more metal/industrial music, and they did a superb job with it. a band all about politics, and even being british as they are, the american's will identify ( especially with the bands unusual focus on american politics! ) this cd is decidedly worth owning, with such noteworthy tracks as phoenixology to the strange clip shot journey that is Hanger 84.

Industrial music review pitchshifter at the height of their sound
i must say this album is quite impressive and unique, it is much unlike any other of the whole industrial scene. the music is very brutal and technical, combining hard edge metal riffs with fast-paced techno style beats and the vocalist j.s. clayden sings and screams with distorted (?) aggressive vocals. altogether a chaotic, abrasive, brutal and very unique album. i rank this one up with my favourite industrial masterpieces like godflesh's "streetcleaner" and ministry's "psalm 69".

Industrial music review My Favorite CD Of The Hardcore Techno Revolution
Ptichshifter were and are the leaders and the best band in this whole industrial/nu-metal scene. Infotainment? is their best CD by far, featuring hardcore beats, fast guitars, and an array of programming tricks to make it worth the while. I love cranking this one up, because it sounds so good loud, and live as well. The gruff vocals mixed with techno are ingenious, and instead of being another brainless punk band, Pitchshifter are a smart band that knows what they're talking about politically. This quirkily abrasive band from Nottingham, England is one of the best forces on the metal circuit now, and should be checked out. The best songs are (We're Behaving Like) Insects, Whiteout, and Bloodsweatsaliva, but they're all good. Also check out Society 1, 20 Dead Flower Children, and Apartment 26.

Industrial music reivew ...
all I have to say is "LENGTH"...can I get some or not? At least they put in some filler tracks, but I can't lie...this disc seems equal parts brutal and lazy. I love the art, but is that the game now?...to overhype a band by waving around more great paintings by the Converge singer? The material is of a high caliber, but hey Death Wish: don't sell me the other half of this album next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Poison the Well CDs are low cost too, but at least I get 45 minutes of well chisled work. This is a great collection of outtakes from their practice room! I give it four stars because it's flawless and brutal with fabulous artwork, but 20 minutes is an EP to me.

Industrial music review Pain means Hurt, Like To Die For
Hurt is the word that came to mind after first listening session of To Die For. Death is what happens when you turn it on. As you turn up the volume, the death becomes more painful. Brutality style death core killing spree chimpanzee is how it acts to your brain. INTEG IS BEST KING!

Great compilation!! Buy it or else the Alien girl just might do something naughty to you (is that such a bad thing?)

Industrial music review INVINCIBLE
At first, I thought that the Industrial/Darkwave scene was going down the toilet--that is until I purchased this double album! It looks (or sounds) as though Industrial is slightly changing (for the sake of evolution) but staying true to it's identity at the same time. If you think that Futurepop is getting stale and redundant, than purchase this 2CD set.

Industrial music review Wow, what a blast!
Ok, if you love your electronics dark, and hard..... this is for you.
There are some awsome tracks here, from known, and some more unknown bands. Hocico, Implant, etc etc, then there's unknowners like "Angel Theory" whos track is brilliant... great to hear new attists comming up through the ranks.

Industrial music reivew Chatback Interviews (Import)
It all started when I went to a media place in Appleton where they sell imports and other cds of all different artists. My favorite artist being Marilyn Manson I automatically went to this section and found numerous titles by him. Out of all of them, most of which I had, I noticed the Chatback Interviews CD and decided to buy it. When I got home I ripped open the packaging and put it into my cd player.

This cd is a very good oppertunity to find out what is underneath the music and get inside what Marilyn Manson stands for and what he has done, and doing, with his life. It is very informative and I recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about the man and his music. This is not just for the die hard fan, it is also for the critics who do not understand and judge the man for his look and not his inner being. I would recommend this cd to anyone who wants to know a little bit more or those who want to learn something new about this extroidinary artist and person.

Industrial music review Funny stuff!
This is great! It's a UK radio interview with MM and Twiggy conducted shortly after the release of Antichrist Superstar. MM was'nt huge yet, & they talk about having recorded the album in the future and travelling back in time to the past to release it, and a bunch of other outrageousness delivered with a straight matter-of-fact manner. Very funny stuff.

Industrial music reivew Mammy what are the scary Germans are doing now
This is a scary CD to listen. It is Neubauten at their most extreme and it can appear to be unlistenable at times. Not recommended to everyone but if you made your way here and bought it the only feeling you'll ever get is that you are to blame if you don`t like it or if you do like it - keep it down low so that nobody else complains about it

Industrial music review Negative Nein
Negative Nein stands for positive in mathematical logic; that is what this album is about. Building from destruction. It is an extreme research in noise, bringing us new rythms, scales and harmonies. What else need I say?
Everyone should have this album.
As simple as that.

Industrial music review the jackhammer stuff
This is one on their earliest works. Before Neubauten, noise was usually electronica or perhaps classical dissidence, Staukhausen say. In Kollaps, the creation of noise becomes a direct and barbaric pursuit, as angry as any punk but freed from the rules of rock and roll. Percussion becomes all.
This mainly means banging and slamming anything and everything. Blixa sings like he is trying to harm his vocal cords, and the synths fill the air with the crackling of the mad scientist's laboratory.
Plus, on this cd, you get a live version of Negativ Nein, a song where even the lyrics are merely percussive punning.

Industrial music review Unreal
This album is unreal! Track after track, it takes the listener on a trip to an ethereal, unreal, dark, beautiful world. One of Die Form's best and unsurpassed albums!

Industrial music review ABSOLUTELY STUNNING
WOW, this is really cool music! Sounds great real loud or low enough to sleep too. I must warn you though: If you play this at nite while you sleep, the music & Elaine's voice will creep up under your flesh and contort your dreams into the dark realms of extascy and bliss....maybe, Then again you may find yourself in a 16th century dungeon just before the executioner chops off your head with an axe ....you never know?
I see myself buying many more Die Forms CD's in the near future. If I had to describe them I would say: A cross between Skinny Puppy/Thrill Kill Kult & Dead Can Dance/Enigma, maybe a touch of Frontline Assembly? Most Definately a Worthy addition to my collection. I know now why I can never find D.F. cd's in the used bin... either nobody in their right mind would ever get rid of them, or they just get snatched up quick ??? Oh well Some bands I dont mind paying full price for....PIG, M.Manson, NIN, Ministry, KMFDM, System of a Down, etc.
Hauntingly beautiful music,if you by chance think your house has a ghost floating around in it then I dont recommend listening to this by yourself, at night, alone, in the dark.

Industrial music reivew Leather Legacy
Claus Larsen's 'Legacy of Hate & Lust' album is quite good. I have often seen him as the Trent Reznor of the Euro scene- and with good reason! No only does Larsen's skill in composition run parallel to Reznor's, but Leather Strip manages to capture more of the early underground darkwave vibe (maybe that's because Larsen has been around longer than Reznor). Had Reznor written "Down There With You", it would have received ceaseless air time... but as it stands, Leather Strip is destined to be a non-commercial entity.

'Legacy of Hate & Lust' is heavily dependent on synthesizers (more so than NIN)- and that is mainly what the pieces are comprised of. The songs tend to be well written and portray emotion through the use of different sonic soundscapes. Highlight here are the classics "Down There With You", "I Won't Look Back", and "No Rest for the Wicked". Definitely a very good CD that unfortunately falls short of perfection. Fans of Nine Inch Nails and Soul Scythe should give Leather Strip a listen without hesitation...

Industrial music review Not your average gothic/industrial.
'Legacy of Hate and Lust' is my favorite Leather Strip album so far. The lyrics are intelligent, emotional, and passionately sung. The music alternates between harsher industrial and more harmonic gothic with classical overtones, which makes this album very polyphonic and offers a spiritual as well as emotional odyssey. Most of the tracks are quite dancable, but if you are looking for an album that is only harsh, non-stop, pounding industrial, check out 'Solitary Confinement'; I found both of these albums to complement each other very well.

Industrial music review beautifull, harsh, intimidating, yet calm and submissive
I've have been listening to LS for the last 6 years,he has always been an inspiration to me in all ways, but this album really made me think, he pulls real deep on this album.it's almost like your there with him and I will always adore him for all of his work and effort making his music almost perfect to my ears...never give up..this album will chatter you from the inside out..enjoy

Industrial music reivew Not Great
Not great, but good. However there are a few really good songs on this double album. Unfortunately you will probably skip through most of it. Enough said.

Industrial music reivew Oh-so-close to five.
Here's my gripe: anyone who buys this compilation will do so for the glut of the biggest names in electronica on the first disc. The surprising fact of the matter is that disc one is only standard fare and is all but forgotten when disc two is discovered. The Chem. Bros. VP remix is a novel but terribly obnoxious (for real fury, try the Komakino track) ploy worthwhile only in bringing the artistry of disc two. Every track is an epic, truly spanning the full techno spectrum. Surface 10, Giez, and others exhibit small ambient masterpieces, complemented perfectly by an adequate harder line. I no longer listen to the first disc.

Industrial music review Very worthwhile CD compilation
A lot of times these various artist CDs can be hit and miss. Especially when it comes to electronic dance music. This one, however, is more hits than misses. Much more. I bought this CD because of a couple of remixes on the first disk that I wanted. I ended up getting much more than I bargained for.

The first disk is packed with famous electronica artists having remixes done by other famous electronica artists. These aren't just slight remixes. They are almost complete revamps of the original music, and good ones at that. I have found particular favorites like AQUALITE, VOODOO PEOPLE, and MINDSTREAM (granted two are the songs I bought the CD for). I also found other really good songs in RENEGADE SOUNDWAVE (I have the original mix... very different... very nice), CLOWN, INSTRUMENTS OF DARKNESS, and REUNITED. I can't remember off the top of my head on the others ones in this CD, but I do believe there are at least a couple more winners here.

Not to be outdone by the popular boys in EDM the second CD has become a major surprise. Thinking disk two was a throw away I was blown away by the cool tracks on this disk. THE BA AND THE KA being a particular favorite, however I would say at least half the second CD has some real winners ranging from crazy-fast dancefloor music to transcendental ambient music.

The two CD set fits into a single CD case with that little flip tray inside. Not the best way to pack the disks, but it does save space. I bought this CD years ago at full price and never looked back. It was well worth it. Seeing now how the price for new ones are down and used ones are even less expensive I would say it's a crime for EDM fans not to grab one.

Industrial music reivew Not what I expected from Raymond Watt's but................
I hadn't heard anything about this CD before hand. By all means I was taking a risk picking up this album. Over all I feel it's an enjoyable CD for us Industrial fans but for the most part, it's missing something as a whole. I've never heard of the band SOW before but I can honestly say that I personally enjoy PIG alot more. Anything by Raymond Watt's is hard to come by in my local music stores, so when I found this album in a used section I bought it in a split second! Basically it's Raymond Watt's doing all the electronics and the female vocalist from SOW doing all the singing. That in itself is the biggest down fall on this album. I expected to hear the gritty voice of Watt's only to hear a female singer on every track. Some of the songs work, other don't. Not what I expected in terms of a PIG album but then again, this isn't just PIG. Not a bad addition to anyones Industrial collection. I just hope to find a PIG album sometime soon.

Industrial music review very theatrical
I heard this album from a friend's rare collection about 3 years ago. I was wondered by this enormous piece of interpretation/composition. Very dramatic, dark, instense... The electro passages could vanish the nightmares of my head.

That's it.

Industrial music review Running the Gauntlet
WARNING: This CD is not for the timid or easily impressionable.

I am wholly convinced that this recording, were it to find its way into the mainstream, would be very dangerous in the wrong hands. Anna Wildsmith (Sow) and Raymond Watts (Pig) combine their sinister artistry on this diabolical landscape of aural amphetamines, bringing us (the unsuspecting) to a new level of listening. "Je m'aime" is not background music. It won't allow itself to be. The haunting, atmospheric emptiness of Watts Engulfs Wildsmith's hypnotic spoken-word poetry in a dense, sonic fog. The two entities illumine a pathway, leading the listener to the thin line between reality and where the mind begins to play tricks on us. The Result: an unsettling, peek over the edge at what lies just underneath this world's surface; different, yet, not entirely foreign like the man you think that you recognize standing in the back of the photograph. This CD has unnatural powers past the normal realms of musically evoked emotions. Let it inside and it will hurt you, confuse you, intrigue you, and leave you afraid to look any closer.

Don't believe me? Buy the CD... Lie back... Close your eyes...
