Industrial music review Sick!
A very very good record. The songs are all different and sound killer. Let's put it this way, this record is a classic one. The rumors are that the band had split up, so it may be the last thing they ever put out, don't miss it!

Industrial music review stoner rock/sludge
The best sludge possible. Super massive. For all fans of heavy and twisted music.

Industrial music review GREAT CD!!!
I find this CD to be the perfect mix of sludge, stoner rock, and even some grind elements in it... killer stuff!! BUY THIS CD if you're into bands like COALESCE, EYEHATEGOD, NEUROSIS, etc.

Industrial music review Gitane At Her Best
It had taken real class for Gitane to write the dedication in the liner notes to Rozz and to tell the world that Valor had stolen the name and that he had absolutetly no right to.

This is Gitane at her best. The style varies from song to song. Gitane's voice is so rich in texture that it engulfs me each and every time. Every song on this album focuses her time in Christian Death and that is really fortunate since you don't half to buy half bad, half good albums featuring Valor.

Gloomy Sunday had to be about the best cover I have ever heard.

Industrial music review Wonderful post-Rozz C.D.
As a rule, I'm not entirely fond of the idea of Christian Death without Rozz Williams, but this collection is worthy of the use of that band name, in my opinion.

Gitane has a wonderful and versatile voice, despite a lot of the lyrics not being hers (and some are just downright silly). All in all, this is an excellent album in its own right and is a must for those who appreciate Gitane Demone, Rozz Williams (despite the fact that he doesn't appear on most of these tracks) and Christian Death.

Industrial music review splendid*
when i first listened to this cd, i was immediately entranced. rozz's vocals on Lament are soulful, and absolutely beautiful. there is that rich texture in gitane's voice that gets me. my favorites on this release are Tales of Innocence, Erection, and of course, Incendiary Lover. this cd might take time for some to love, but its worth the money.

Industrial music review Rammstein knows how to do it
This is by far the best record I have ever heard. It contains a great deal of extras VS the normal "mutter" album...

1. The fold out pack itself is beautiful, and has a nice red tint to it (the normal album has a green tint). It also has a 3-D "R" logo in the front of the case.

2. Includes very well taken pictures of the band in action. The paper the photos are printed on is very interesting, odd, yet cool and unique. You'll have to get it to see (and feel) what I'm talking about.

3. A special "red tinted" booklet from the orignal Mutter album. No changes to it besides color.

4. What really makes this album "special" is the bonus cd. It contains 4 live tracks, adding up to 20 minutes. All of them are explosive, and are much more energy filled than the studio versions. The tracks show Rammstein is the best live band around.

So you get it all, the bonus tracks, the fold out digi pack, live photos, and explosive multi platinum music.

Is it worth the money? You bet! ...

Industrial music review Well worth the cost!
I just recieved my copy of the Mutter: Limited Tour Edition CD. IT ROCKS!! I tried ordering it from CDNOW.com. ... I waited for a month for it to get out of backorder, which it never did, so I came to Amazon and got it within a week of ordering it. The packaging for this CD is simply wonderful. It's stunning looks are a great addition to anyone's CD collection. The red artwork as opposed to the original green tint is also really cool. One nice addition to the set is the small booklet that accompanies the bonus second disc. The book is similar to the original Mutter's book, but features a picture of each band member in action during a concert as opposed to the "dead-body-in-formaldahyde" look. The four live tracks on the second disc are simply AWESOME! The songs are performed with as much enthusiasm and energy as any of the songs on "Live Aus Berlin". "Ich Will" is chock full of energy and awesome guitars, as are the other three songs. Great music and great sound effects. I don't even need to mention the superior quality of the songs on the actual album "Mutter". Great Stuff. This CD is worth the price, and is a great addition to any true Rammstein fan's collection. Buy it while you still can!

Industrial music review This is not a CD, this is a piece of ART!!!!
This CD is just incredible. I am a "special edition lover" and this is the most beautiful CD I've ever seen!!!some special edition CDs just have an idiot little paper around the classic CD box and a sticker saying "special limited edition bla bla bla"...and have one bonus track not even printed on the cover... but this one is: 1.a double CD 2.a special digipack in red(original is green) with the Rammstein "R logo" in 3D on it 3.a special red cd cover 4.a special Tour Edition cover for 2nd CD 5.the music is fantastic. This is not a CD, this is a piece of A R T !!! If u r a Rammstein listener of if u know someone who is, get this for him and you'll be praised forever!!!

Industrial music review no title
first of all, i have to say i think it would be "incorrect" to say that this record, and all of the early current's "soundscape" records, as people often refer to them, are better OR worse than current's recent material. they are just aesthetically different. substantially they are NOT different, if you ask me, maybe just simpler. so, i do not agree on this with the previous two reviewers. substantially, this record is mostly about apocalypse, the big ending itself, with all the small endings and deaths that we encounter every day held within. the state of the things that surround us DEMAND apocalypse, in a way. i think this is the main thought behind early current's records. all these thoughts are integral parts of more recent current's material, but the substance of current's newer material is MUCH more complex, so these feelings and thoughts are not so much in the front and isolated, but rather mixed, with love primarily. not love for this or that being, but love itself. i see no real substantial difference between early current's work and their later work, it is a steady, HONEST growth of spirituality. so, this record in particular does not WANT to be dark (ooooooh, spoooky!!), it is just an honest display of one's spiritual state, captured within the aforementioned feelings/thoughts. so, do not view this music as DARK music, it is just HONEST music, and that's what sets current's early records apart from a bunch of childish posers that try to recreate this kind of sound for the sake of "darkness". conclusion:buy this record, it is brilliant.

Industrial music review Maldoror is alive and well....
This is in many ways the "ultimate" Current 93 release. The two extended tracks take you into pleasantly painful vistas peopled by elements that might in themselves be considered discordant, but in this context they are woven into dark and sparkling symphonies.Vague chanting, rumbling skies...even an excerpt from the Agnus Dei movement of Faure's requiem mass are drawn together to form a compelling whole. This is Current 93 at their most intense. The extra tracks consist of singles{!?}and rarities, and are a welcome addition to the package.

Industrial music review One Of The Best
This is by far one of the best Current 93 albums ever, in my opinion. I was drawn to them in their Maldoror days by their noisy soundscapes and tracks that took up almost a whole album side, and this one is a classic. Deep, droning, humming thrumming music like the stirrings of an ancient creature, singing monks, dark rumblings, and of course Tibet's distinct wailing. Some tracks are more mournful and dreamlike, some are dark and brooding, and yet others sound like Orc music. Current 93's more recent works seemed to have pulled away from this style a lot, and while anything they do will always be good IMHO, I think this time period was the greatest for them. If you find that you enjoy this album, I highly recommend you find also "Dogs Blood Order", "Live at Bar Maldoror", and "In A Foreign Town, In A Foreign Land", you will not be disappointed.

Industrial music review Just Fantastic
I never, ever heard of these guys before I read the existing reviews; man were they right! This is a fantastic CD. I can't quite explain it, but I'll try. Hard rock/hardcore, a sometimes funky sound, with a hard edge on the guitar rhythms. Wonderful bass guitar - the bass is just a joy to listen to. Some songs hit me right away, but there is such variety that it took me about six listens for the whole experience to sink in, but I promise, this is great. It will get under your skin. The guitar just flows, there's no real lead guitar here, but the rhythms are great. This Cd just absolutely rocks, I'm listening to it while I'm typing this review and I'm about to fall out of my chair. Buy it , you will not be disappointed!! I gotta go, these riffs are killing me. You will buy many CDs much worse than this one, much worse, lordy this is a great CD and I'm jumpin to my feet right now cause it ain't a sittin down thing. So let's get busy!!!

Industrial music review Something refreshingly different
It's nice to listen to an album that isn't laced with pointless rap vocals about nothing. This album is good, straight-up rock metal. This 3-piece belts out great songs that don't buy into the mainstream crap that floods radio stations today. The live show is killer, and the album well represents it. Anyone who knows anything about music should pick this one up.

Industrial music review Still Under The Skin...........
Close to a year after their initial release Boiler has captured more of the world with the power of "The New Professionals".

The power of the music, yes we can talk about that. Now we can, they deliver the goods. There is no Flash in the Pan identity about this band. They continue to capture the essence of delicious music of years past with an absolute razors edge cutting through dogmatic ideals of the "old school sound". If you want a CD that breathes heavy grooves, this is your home, if you yearn and feel original, music moving, music living and alive...

Boiler is Your Band

Industrial music reivew worth a listen
Kidneythieves are an excellent industrial band out of L.A. I have the promo version of this particular cd, which I picked up in a used disc shop. I have copies of Trickster and Phi In The Sky, both of which I would highly recommend to anyone who has an affinity for artsy industrial metal. This and Phi In The Sky are great samplers if you would like to try the music before you spend on the full albums.

Industrial music review My two favorite KT songs?
On one CD/Cassette? I don't believe it. These are two incredible songs. S + M (a love song) is one of the most upbeat, haunting songs I've ever heard, absolutely exuding power, very industrial in nature. Feathers is beautiful. Just, outright beautiful. There's little more I can say than that. If you like these, check out Trickster. If you like the way these sound, check out Zerospace. If you like KT, which you do, check out Live In Chicago 2002...

Industrial music review singles are always the best
the singles always rock, always leave you wanting more. luckily with the kidneythieves, i was not disappointed with everything that came along with them. all their albums have been wonderful, including their newest release "live in chicago", which is only available through their site.

Industrial music review Difficult, Uncompromising & abrasive...but a fantastic album
Labelled (slightly incorrectly) as an `Industrial Dance' band, 23 Skidoo's overview of music is far broader & experimental. First track "Kundalini" starts with a throbbing bass, expertly coupled with a gloomy drone, that produces a sublime sound, without necessarily being a traditionally structured song. "Vegas el Bandito" is where the band lose the Industrial tag, and venture into experimental funk with astonishing results, metallic & slightly abrasive in sound, it's not quite `Chilli Peppers or James brown' but has a various Horns, & a scratchy guitar line that show a leniency to accessible Avante garde, but the percussion & bass guitar are unquestionably funk-derived. "IY" is the nearest concession to a dance-oriented track on the album, and whilst you'll be had pressed to find a DJ willing to risk spinning this one, the conga drums, saxophones, cymbal crashes are the natural evolution from Punk-funk. A few of the tracks ("Mary's Operation", "Porno Bass") are stark bleak collages of metallic sounds, and fragmented drones & disembodied distorted mumblings, highly eerie & unsettling and prove to significantly divide the pace of the album to great effect (be warned, these are pseudo-industrial ambient sound collages, not fully formed songs). In Conclusion.....this is a bleak, difficult, uncompromising listen of an album, and possibly not for those without at least a fair idea of what to expect from this album (or at the least having a really broad sense of music), but unquestionably one of those fantastically underrated albums you hear about, but seemingly never come across.

Industrial music review At last a reissue of this great album
and good quality soundwise.
in addition to what other reviewers wrote, in 1984 an issue of 7songs came out which contained 'the gospel comes to new guinea' 'last words' and 'just like everybody else' and did not contain 'IY'.
the three former songs are now on the new compilation album 'the gospel comes to new guinea'
anyway, great fun.

Industrial music review Triggers
Have you ever been walking along, when a street/office sound triggers a classic weird track in your head? I had "Mary's Operation" triggered, and, boy, this is a real weirdy! A woodwind and brass orchestrated effort, which conveys exactly the hollow futility of life 23 Skidoo wanted to put across, verging on the edge of whale song, but the exploration of the instruments is so penetrative, the lack of coherent structure becomes irrelevant to the cause. "Mary's Operation" just blows me away every time. But it wouldn't normally be so good, had its context not been so perfectly laid down by the preceding track "Vegas El Bandito", which is an upbeat twisted dance beat track, with montages of B-Movie Cowboy dialog sampled in. This EP. has a funky/weird feel to it. After many listenings, it becomes clear that 23 Skidoo have laid out a gorgeous rarity for all to witness. For open minds. That trigger certainly changed the tone of the rest of the day for me. Makes you look at life very differently from those you're looking at! Others that do it for me :-

Fripp and Eno - Evening Star - An Index of Metals
23 Skidoo - Just Like Everybody - Shrine
Zoviet France - Digilogue - Alchemagenta

Industrial music reivew bad fake Christian Death
It has always bothered me that, after leaving Christian Death in the mid-80s -- after the Ashes album -- that Rozz Williams in the mid-90s decided that -- along with Paris and Eva O -- he was the REAL Christian Death. Catastrophe Ballet and Ashes are amazing albums, but anything Rozz has done under the name Christian Death since then has been second rate at best. The problem is with the whole Rozz vs. Valor debate in the goth community. Although it is true that Valor hasn't had a good album since Atrocities (or perhaps Scriptures), it does not mean that Rozz represents the quality (or "real") Christian Death. Path of Sorrows, Skeleton Kiss, and Rage of Angels are among the worst albums of the goth rock genre. These three are worse than the worst of Valor -- Amen, Sexy Death God, All the Hate, Pornographic Messiah, Born Again Antichristian. Venus in Furs has my vote for the worst cover song of all time (in the entire universe): The sqeak toy sound gives this one that extra special sucko quality. By the way, am I the only who thinks that Eva O might actually be a drag queen? Until I see evidence to the contrary, I will assume that Eva O is a man with a masculine and horse voice.

Industrial music review Rozz Williams is Christian Death.
I have to write this review especially after the false statements that i just read in these reviews. I myself bought this particular album entitled "PATH OF SORROWS" when it was first released in 1993 on Cleopatra records. I had also, been one of the lucky ones to have met and spoken to Rozz Williams a couple of times and on a couple of different occasions. This album in particular to me is Christian Death at it's best. This is an extremley dark sounding album filled with lyrics that captivate the listener and if you listen and really pay attention it will leave you absolutly breathless and unable to rationally explain the feeling.Rozz Williams founded Christian Death not Valor Kand. Rozz had a true art intent, which is to say that he was an artist. Rozz's lyrics and music really teased a persons emoitions as well as their brain, he had a really great and natural knack to word twist so in order to fully understand the man and his music one must really pay close attention.Rozz williams released this album in particular as well as another album to follow it called "THE RAGE OF ANGELS" Both of these albums were done by Rozz inorder to combat Valor Kand who was a guitar player who joined Christian Death years after Rozz Williams had founded the band. Sadly, after Rozz passed away on April 1, 1998 Valor Kand somehow ended up with the rights to all of Rozz's work under the name Christian Death. So, in conclusion of this review, I would personally recommend this album "PATH OF SORROWS" for a couple of good reasons. First of all the original founder of the band wrote it, not a second rate fake or rip off artist. Secondly, this album still has the original gothic style of sound that the band Christian Death had always been known for and thirdly, I have seen Valor Kand and his so called Christian Death part #2 band perform and i have to say that not only did the show suck but, the man has a big mouth and a pompus attitude and he managed to make the entire audience angry.I will never support this man but, i will listen to the real and true Christian Death band with Rozz Williams in the band and i will reflect fondly back on all the great music that he put out.

Industrial music review my favorite album, ever
I purchased this back in '93 when it was first released. It was my first exposure to Rozz and I instantly became obsessed with the man. The opening monologue just blew me away...so blasphemous and depressing, yet gentle and soothing. The whole album continues in this manner, wallowing in the depths of despair while maintaining a warmth and honesty that is very rare indeed. Rozz's esoteric and seductive vocals dominate this album from start to finish. The music sets a desolate atmosphere wherein his tales of terror and sadness transpire. His often ambiguous and absurd lyrics seem paradoxically wise and consoling. Despite its decidedly anti-Christian sentiments, it sounds very heavenly. I've been listening to it for over ten years now and it never gets old. But then again, perhaps I'm simply a freak.

Industrial music reivew Rammstein Rock Down Under!
This album is as good as "Live Aus Berlin" and "Sehnsucht" can be put together. For those of us who have got "Asche zu Asche" and "Sehnsucht", then you already have this album, but without the Australian Tour sticker. I'm not sure how common this is, but my stereo was unable to pick up and play Disc 2 (Asche zu Asche), but fortunately I had access to another stereo that could play it. BE WARNED. Otherwise, it's a great buy for any Rammstein fans collection.

Industrial music review brilliant
This is a brilliant album. There is never a dull moment while listening to it. It is strong from start (with sehnsucht) to finish (stripped). Then there is the bonus CD. It has the popular song Asche Zu Asche in its album and live form, plus some other great songs in live and album versions. Ramstein is a perfecly balanced mix of keyboard techno stuff and heavy metal. Every song has one of those spots that you wait for and listen to all over again if you miss it, like where Jonathan Davis says GO in Freak On A Leash by Korn. BUY THIS CD

Industrial music review Rammstein fire gods
I think this little boxset is a great investment for people who dont know many songs from rammstein. For the same price as the normal sehnsucht u get another disc with a song from the first album "Asche Zu Asche" and five edited live tracks from the album live aus berlin. The first track is good for people who like the first album "tight and Heavy" the first track will also introduce the new fans to the first album.Good investment u must buy!!!! Will be rare soon!!!!

Industrial music reivew An okay album
There's a few tracks here that stands out amongst others such as "Phoenix" (which riffs kind of remind me of Rammstein's music - definately a plus), "Bondage", and "Shockwave". However, my beef with this album, after listening to it several times, is that all the songs seem to blend in together and get somewhat boring. Perhaps this isn't Decoded Feedback's best cd, I don't know... this is my first cd I've heard from them. Perhaps I'm just more used to danceable stuff? Nonetheless, this is great for background music even or driving.

Industrial music reivew Flying Free and Powerful
DF's latest album, Shockwave, is a great electro-industrial album. However, it is not as dancy as I would have liked. However, this album has "Phoenix" on it, and that song is one of the best Industrial songs ever written. It is danceable, hard, dark and even catchy. Yone and Marco should get a Nobel Prize for this song!

The other songs, although not being as brilliant, are all great to listen to. Id recommend this album.

Industrial music review The best Indistrial Dance out there!
"Shockwave" is perfect title for Decoded Feedback's nuclear assault on the senses. Want the very best Industrial out there? Decoded Feedback is it! What I like about Decoded Feedback is their ability for a full frontal assault ("Pheonix") and their ability to convey beauty and grace with tracks like "Do you See". I keep thinking that "Bondage" and "Democracy"are the recorded thoughts of a black dragon as it soars over the land casting the spell of Fear and bringing heart attacks to the lesser beings below. "The Fruit of Wisdom" could be the soundtrack for the human battle scene between the dragon and just about everybody below dies under wave after brutal wave of attack. The mourners are left to sing "Heaven" but, look out blee-otches!, the Decoded Feedback Black Dragon could smell and sense you, so it circles back, vomiting fire into homes and your eye sockets! I could go on and on with this but I think you'll see that there's no escaping raw emotion listening to this album. It's the soundtrack for a war being fought for your survival!
