Industrial music review An excellent collaboration between two top EBM bands.
Bringing together :wumpscut: and haujobb. is a godsend to the industrial/EBM world. Although the original version of :wumpscut:'s "Die In Winter" is masterful stroke, haujobb.'s remix of it on this EP takes it to another plane of musical existence altogether. :wumpscut:'s remix of haujobb.'s "Nezzwerk" is also outstanding. If you're a fan of either band or if you've ever heard this version of "Die In Winter" in a club and grooved on it, you should get this CD.

Industrial music review cleaned
A long time ago someone gave me a mixtape with "world windows" on it. It has been my favorite song for years, and only now I have heard the whole cd; I think the other tracks are equally amazing. Especially cerebral.

Industrial music review This album puts electronica back into industrial music
i stumbled across this album at the record store one day and thought, "ah, why not? the price is right." when i listened to it i was very surprised. there is a nice balance between the hard edge of industrial rock and the complex atmosphere of electronica. its a pity the album is only 6 tracks long.

Industrial music review Retrospect!
This Cd has an excellent beat and is a great example of industrial music in the 90's! I highly recomend Leather Strip

Industrial music review Bound by leather
Wow, this CD is simply amazing. I can honestly say there is not a song from this CD I don't like. Each song captures you from the very beginning, and makes you not want to stop listening until the CD is over. I highly recommend this CD to any Industrial fan, or even newcomers who want an awesome experience!

Industrial music review The rating system only goes up to 5 stars??
This cd has changed my life! "Retrospcetive" is a compilation of much of the work that Danish genius Claus Larsen has done, including songs from the early works like "Japanese Bodies" to the more recent albums like "The Rebirth of Agony". It is a great cd for anyone who even thinks that they may like industrial music! I would have rated it higher but it only goes up to five stars!

Industrial music review One of the best Ministry side projects EVER
You got Chris Connelly and the usual Ministry suspects making two of the coolest songs of the Wax Trax! days. Just listen to the lyrics off 'Rubber Glove Seduction', they are pretty interesting to say the least. 'My Favourite Things' is a great tune too, oh just go buy this now if you have any appreciation for real cool music.

Industrial music review wow!
rubber glove seduction is one of the greatest songs i have heard. i love this guy's voice. very unique and beautiful

Industrial music review The Hunger Rocks!!!
I just got back from a concert that a The Hunger was playing at. Before I went, I had never heard of the band, but as soon as they started playing they got a reaction out of the crowd, and I know how the lubbock crowd is, and its hard to get a reaction outta them, well anyways, I heard this cd and it was one of the best cd's I've ever heard, I would suggest buying this to almost anyone.

Industrial music review this is the cd to buy
The Hunger's newst release Space Man's Last Goodbye is one of the best cds that i own right now. I recently saw them play over my spring break holidy and there show was like no other. They put out more energy to the crown than Ihave ever seen. This cd is good the whole way through and the other cds that are out like cinematic superthug and devil thumbs a ride are really good too.

Industrial music review Space Man's Last Goodbye...By all means, no push over.
Being a good fan of The Hunger I have heard most of thier material, and it just keeps getting better and better. Space Man's Last Goodbye is the latest mark The Hunger has put on the world. With it's powerful and exciting Industrial Rock sound your interest is gained the minute you hear it. Though this cd has strong influences from many bands such as Nine Inch Nails, The Hunger has a sound of their own that noone can reproduce. Vocalists and keyboard players Jeff and Thomas Wilson have more than perfected the manner in which they conduct them selves as well as their band. One gets so much from this cd most of the emotions spawned from it can only be felt. The Hunger with this new cd is as strong as the best bands out there and deserve, and will get, world wide recognition.

Industrial music review I'm impressed
Having actually worked with George in the late 80's & early 90's, I can tell you...This is great stuff. I always thought George was a talented guitarist and songwriter, but his vocals really give this cd a unique sound...Standout tracks are hard to pick, but I'm really into the opening song and the title track. PICK this up...NOW!

Industrial music review wow
good, good stuff...similar sound to stabbing westward, with a definite edge that belongs only to Splinter. and the lyrics....WOW. i love it...

Industrial music review SMP = Refreshing
SMP has to be one of the best industrial bands I have seen live and "Stalemate" is a great CD. Several dance-floor hits here including "451, Pure Uncut Anger, Clementine, Scarlet Letter, Pt. 1 and Backwards". SMP blends a little of everything into their sound, pure out industrial and even some industrial rap. If you like bands like Consolidated & Meat Beat Manifesto then you will LOVE SMP.

Industrial music review Excellent industrial/hip hop/punk!
SMP (formerly Synthesia Murder Program -- a name they felt was too "stereotypically industrial") bust out with a slurry of aggro industrial grooves on this album. "Pure Uncut Anger" is one of the standout tracks and as been featured on a couple of industrial compilations. Their cover of Ice-T's "Lethal Weapon" is hard and heavy. "Clementine" features great cyberpunk fiction lyrics of a bio-engineered person breaking out the facility that spawned him. "Cops" and the AIDS-related "Scarlet Letter" are also great songs.

Industrial music review percussion driven electronic music
This is an excellent CD. The drum/percussion lines are creative and unique, the melodies are detail oriented and the vocals are powerful. I've heard the bands 2nd CD, Ultimatum and can assure you, these musicians are versitile and incredibly talented. I intend to continue collecting all of their work and follow their careers. If you listen to any form of electronic, industrial, hip-hop or punk, I'd highly recommend this CD.

Industrial music review Wow
Got this in vinyl YEARS ago, and am happy to find it on CD. Still don't know what all of it means, but even to an english-only speaker the tone conveys sooooooo much.

Industrial music review The two sides album
It took two long years for this much expected LP to be released. We have to admit that the recording sessions dragged on. The critics are mitigated: some scream for scandal, others salute a fabulous album.

It's true that this LP is less accessible than its predecessor, especially with its second act called "The Devil Side" with which TRUST opens the way to "Black Metal"...We can have some questions in mind about the future direction. The lyrics are less raw than before, except maybe "Uptown Martyrs"...There's more "lyrical flight" showing some well established truth. The fact remains that a part of the fans leaves the ship, accusing the band to have become "commercial", a fashionable word in the 80's...

It's more fair to tell that we deal with a band who is looking for a new way and who is trying to escape from its Hard Rock image in order to get a "rock" label less restrictive, and which is something that TRUST wanted for a long time. As for the previous two LPs, there will be an English version of this disc, called "Man's Trap" ( "Trust IV" or "Ideal" in French ).

Industrial music review The Best Live Album !
Cool an other live album ! It's what everybody thought when this album was released in 1992... And what an live album ! The best moments of the 1980 tour. Sure there will be some people to tell that TRUST take the occasion to release this live album at the same time as the AC/DC "Live" to give it a chance to follow its great brother...Let's talk, let's talk...

Anyway the radio put in heavy rotation the couple "Antisocial / Highway to Hell" like at the good old times back in the 80's...And it's a good deal. The album is good, very good. However, two regrets emerge : "L'Elite" doesn't appear on this CD and why not release a double live album ? We start to hope for a second reunion...Already 4 years since the split. Won't they let us wait for 4 years, do an album and split again ? Nevermind, for such a good album like this one, we are ready to wait....

Industrial music review Truly a monumental album!!
This is one of the most astounding and groundbreaking albums ever released. Really the zenith of true industrial music. If I had to choose one album to represent Industrial this would be it hands down. A must have. Intelligent, challenging and primal music for modern homo sapians. Captures the true meaning of the term "Decline of Western Civilization". A must have. I would put this one on the greatest recordings ever.

Industrial music review Excellent.... get it asap
I have been looking for this album since 1988, I have just finished listening to it and it is as great now as it was then. If you like 80's industrial like Skinny Puppy but more intense. Hard hitting gloom and doom with political undertones (check out track 5). A must for anyone who likes industrial.... John Hall

Industrial music review This album is among Test Dept's most cohesive albums
The Unacceptable Face of Freedom is an unrelenting and exhaustive album, with very dirty textures augmented by forceful rhythms. It is rife with political cynicism and disillusionment, as well as artistic expression and innovation. I've always felt that Test Department was among the more intelligent and focused industrial bands, expressing more than maudlin misery, and targeting specific issues in their presentation of their vision of the Reagan-Bush/Thatcher era.

Industrial music reivew aNother Naughty Nebulous Nutty Nursey Noise
Well actually, this album is pretty un-industrial, so therefore lacks lot of noise-as-such, unlike many of their other offerings.

Using heaps of samples from the fifties, this is a is tongue-in-cheeky poke-in-the-eye to pop/easy-listening-or-viewing schlock. Another inspired Nursey romp! Good background listening, that would probably pall on repeat listening, but an essential CD for NWW completists (if you can get it - I found my copy on eBAy).

However, this CD certainly doesn't rank with their best in my opinion. For 'Nursey beginners' it would be best to start with 'Sugar Fish Drink' (a personal fave and excellent value); 'Thunder Perfect Mind' (rivetting album and another fave); or 'Funeral Music for Perez Prado' (a varied and engaging album - the title track is a stunning industrial-edged organic-ambient masterpiece).

MAKE SURE YOUR SMILE-METER IS TURNED ON IF YOU BUY THIS ALBUM!!!

Industrial music review Sylvie and Babs turned me on.
What can I say? This was my introduction to NWW. After reading so much about them in the Trouser Press album guide, I knew that Stapleton's work would be right up my alley. Each NWW is different, but I couldn't have asked for a better initiation into its "music". Fans of Frank Zappa's Lumpy Gravy should absolutely love this work, as it is quite similar with its cut up tape techniques, snatches of bizarre dialogue and everything else with the kitchen sink thrown in.

Sylvie And Babs is the kind of record that makes you want to hear more long after it's over. Even while you're listening to it, you find your ears perking up, as if they are stretching to hear what's coming next before it arrives. The appearances of the theme to Dragnet, as well as a muted but clearly recognizable sample of "The Monster Mash" are just a couple of the hidden gems you'll find within this recording. NWW deserves its legacy, and Sylvie And Babs is certainly a highlight of Stapleton's (and a zillion other guests here) career. Dig in.

Industrial music review Stapleton's Audio Minefield, Ltd.
Most of NWW's music tends toward noisier experimentation and the industrial. This, however, has less in common with that and more with things such as the earlier works of Negativland (c. "A Big 10-8 Place") or John Oswald. Starting with a slowly-building collage of cheery muzak, the album suddenly crashes into bad Sinatra impersonations, tape-process havoc, loops, sudden outbursts of some cheezy Australian pop song, noise, then eventually into a total savaging of the 'Dragnet' theme. And that's just the _first_ piece, and only a slight overview at that! This is one of the true genius-works of sampled/stolen music manipulation, a mad assault of splicing and bad craziness that hits home like listening to Stockhausen's "Hymnen" on nitrous oxide. Guaranteed to pit you against your stereo in a true audio chaos deathmatch! Sounds bad? Well...it _is_ bad! It's that magical bad known as 'good/bad', rarely glimpsed, but very present here. Steve Stapleton is a true genius and madman, judging from this (not to mention the huge corpus of NWW, of course), and "Sylvie and Babs" begs to be heard by those who think they're totally down with the avant-garde. My bet is that they'll likely get their ears pinned back by this glorious disc of chaos!

Industrial music reivew i've heard better...
I heared clips of these songs and thought that this was going to be a good fast and heavy oomph compared to their album Warheit oder Phlicht. It was a little bit more angry but all the songs were too long with slow parts that dragged the songs down. The singers voice sounds darker and meanier which was a plus but I didn't like it when he sang in english. Some of the songs had promise but they aren't that hard hitting. This cd is way too expensive so I bought it from another seller that said it was new but it was used and the last track scips.

Industrial music review OOMPH! does it again
This is quite possibly one of the meanest/angriest and darkest albums in OOMPH!'s catalog. All the tracks are heavy metal rockers, it slows down on the track "Foil" however and gives you a hint of what's to come with their next 2 albums (Plastik & Ego). Dero's vocals are extremely angry on this album. Favorite tracks that remain stuck with me include: Anniversary, Gekreuzigt, Unsere Rettung, Willst Du Mein Leben Entern? and B#@#ard. People that are turned off by only German lyrics can be happy with this band, they usually do a 50/50 split in German/English. If you like this album I highly recommend that you go for their other albums as each one has their own unique sound.

Industrial music review very heavy album
i can't imagine not having this album. it is powerful, dark, and heavy listening. the first 4 tracks are like nothing else. that's not to take away from track 5 and on -they are excellent as well. i've listened to several new cd's lately and all the songs i find myself remembering, and singing to myself are from this album. i think my neighbors are afraid to knock on my door and tell me to turn it down when i'm playing it. did i only see one other review for this album? that surprises me, i thought there'd be maybe dozens, when i saw so few i had to contribute, i hope this helps anyone considering this album. it is my favorite oomph! album. i have defekt, plastik, and ego also.
