Industrial music review Well, here it is!
Well, here it is, the cd that first got me into gothic music. Got it from my sister for my birthay, she used to listen to them in the 80's. I still love this cd. It has some really good remixes.

Industrial music review Great mixing, better than the Iron Mask.
I love this single. The mixes are done much better than those on The Iron Mask, and it has a great "feel" to it. The live song at the end is excellent. I kinda wish this was the style The Iron Mask was done in, but this makes up for it. Nice pictures, too!!

Industrial music review disturbing and haunting
If the apocalypse were to have a soundtrack, it would be performed by Controlled Bleeding-- their goth/industrial/dark ambient music is a brutal, barren landscape of sound that leaves the listener stranded in a desert of despair and hopelessness. It is quite unlike anything else I've heard, and I've been seeking out their other albums. I'm giving this album 5 stars, despite the fact that Germany is a brief throw-away track that doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the material.

Industrial music review Very entrancing, gothic music; a journey in and of itself
Mysterious and captivating sounds that pull you into a world of shadows and endless dimensions. Guaranteed to soothe the soul and stimulate your mind. Get ready to go for a ride into the outer realm.

Industrial music review Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The best to come out of STL! This cd is great from start to finish! They should be well known, but record company's are a-holes!

Industrial music review Fabulous
I was a fan from the News Boys days and then the Eyes and Pale Divine. Didn't miss a show. Matter of fact, still enjoy seeing Michael play some of the old songs now a days. Those were some of the funnest years of my young adult life. Really miss those days. The CD is absolutely fabulous, as was the band. Damn record execs don't know what the hell they are doing......I highly recommend purchasing this CD.

Industrial music review Yes, awesome album, awesome band, shame they didn't make it
As others pointed out, this is the best St. Louis band to never make it. I was a regular at their shows as a teenager, and lost count after 25. Stage presence is an understatement. The lead singer could hold a crowd in his control, and he had "the look". Richard Fortus is a great guitarist who went on to the band Love Spit Love. Interestingly enough, I now work at the corporate headquarters of one of the largest St. Louis companies, and the former Pale Divine drummer works there as well. He plays at some corporate functions with a few other amateur musicians.

Pale Divine really was the band that I will always remember from my teenage years. When camping, my friends and I still to this day bring guitars and sit around the campfire singing Pale Divine songs.

Industrial music review a stickey coat of godflesh
It's the awe of a lightning bolt so close, it blows your hair back. Godflesh is genius, not the kind you expect from renaisance frescoes, but the life in the clay they are painted on. This is the akin to furious weather; there is a smoothness in it, a reason that is glassy after the sand is melted. It incorporates the wieght of an angry earth, the confusion of a man
and the eerie calmness of a hurricane. The fact that they have been burried as an event in music is not without merit...they deserve that place, they exist somewhere inside of things, atomic-like.
The music of Godflesh is a small man in a headlock who explodes out and grins at the enemy, it deserves better words than heavy or extreme, it deserves to share descriptions with the teutonic plates moving down there. You just can't get a more pure, strong,
stone-age vibe than with Godflesh.

Industrial music review 'Streetcleaner' -- The Essential Crossover Album
Godflesh finally bridged the void between two extreme genres with 1991's 'Streetcleaner'. The thrash-metal/death metal scene instantly fused with the underground industrial scene, as this album accomplished what many others failed miserably at.
Hailed as an absolute essential by any fan of heavy music, the unbelievably detuned Fender Strat of J.K. Broadrick attacks the senses on the opening track 'Like Rats' & never lets up one moment throughout the album.
For anyone who thinks current corporate nu-metal is heavy, take a listen to this release; the tracks 'Christbait Rising' & 'Streetcleaner' are guaranteed to be the absolute heaviest tracks to have abused your speakers.
J.K. Broadrick's unique sound & guitar style- detuned to the key of G, burst out incredible distortion tone while retaining the unique Godflesh chord phrasing.
Joined only with the equally heavy bass of G.C. "Ben" Green & a drum machine, Godflesh delivered a sound that laid waste to all other extreme bands.
Unfortunately disbanded in 2002, Godflesh recorded several albums of similar calibre to 'Streetcleaner', which remains an essential monument in the cd collections of both metal & industrial fans to this day.

Industrial music review One for the skinflowers...
"Gasoline Man" is the only song I have ever felt compelled
to dance to - particularly when that bluesy bass riff kicks in after
Franz goes "Thank you wolf, you told me how to bite".

Many
said The Young Gods were trying to adopt an American style with this
album, but the sound is still distinctly European with guitar samples,
electronic noises and sound-washes constructing each
song.

"Gasoline Man" and "Skinflowers" will be
remembered as European rock classics, but the real highlights of the
album are the ghostly "She Rains" and the stunning,
twenty-minute-long "Summer Eyes" ( which is comparable with
the sixteen-and-a-half-minutes-long odyssey "Moon Revolutions" on
"Only Heaven" ).

Industrial music review "Sonic architecture on an American tour de force".
At the end of the eighties many observers said that rockmusic was dead. Then the Swiss trio The Young Gods introduced their sonic architecture, witch changed the future of rockmusic. The trio only use voice, samples and drums, and yet the make one of the most impressive walls of sound built on the components of tempo, movement and balance. Their 4th album "T.V. Sky" stands, with Nirvana's Nevermind, as the most important and album of the nineties. "T.V. Sky" is the most American influential album jet by TYG. Especially the almost 20 minutes long composition "Summer Eyes", shows that The Young Gods in an extreme intelligent way, manage to combine the universe and expression of bands like the Stooges and the Doors with elements from heavy metal, Stravinskij and samples you never thought was from an electronic instrument. If you think that rockmusic doesn't exist any longer, then simply listen to The Young Gods, and that will change your mind.

Industrial music review One of the best electronica.
I had asked one of my friends to buy this cd. It is by far one of the best electronica albums I have heard. I cannot stop raving about this album. It is one of those rare albums where every track in itself is a masterpiece and shows the diversity of their music. The industrial god fathers have done it again. Except this time they mostly weave melody with drum and base or I should say around it.

I have always considered Test Dept to be one of the best percussions oriented (electro/industrial) band. It is their unique ability to beautifully and seamlessly meld industrial, tribal, middle eastern and indian elements in their music that separate them from most other acts. Tracks that standout are Atlantis, 2Ghettos and Miotica. While this doesn't sound anything much like the earlier Test Dept, I must admit that I like the way this band has evolved. Also check out Totality which also is another fantastic album.

Industrial music review The best release in any genre of 1998
Test Dept. has displayed an uncanny ability to adopt their rythmic industrial style to any genre, be it classical, traditional industrial, celtic, techno or dub. Though this latest release lacks explicit thematic content, much like their previous release "Totality" it brings them into uncharted musical waters, in this case ranging from full-on jazz-laced jungle to harsh electronics reminiscent of Aphex Twin, with some soulful dub tracks thrown in. Buy it, but give it a few listens for the genius to sink in...

Industrial music review This CD is simply AWESOME.
Chris's originality bursts out in his new album "Talking". The CD kicks off nicely with a classical turned drum&bass track "Elusion", and eventually progresses into the ever-thumping hard trance "In the Hall of the Mountain King". With mellow grooves like "Talking" inbetween that make you wanna chill out with a cold one, this album is awesome for all occasions. This is a must have for any electronic music fan that is tired of the same old stuff and is looking for a little originality. And with track genres varying from drum&bass to hard trance, to techno and even down tempo, there's something for everyone on this.

Industrial music review Awesome album
This, the second Acumen(Nation) album is definitley the best one next to more human heart and Transmissions fromk Eville. Just listen to Queener and you'll know why. If you like ealry Nine Inch Nails there's no reason why you wont dig this.....unless you have bad taste. This album warrants repeated listens. Also check out Iron Lung Corp.

Industrial music review Uh-huh they said ...
well, what can one say about Acumen Nation, one of the greatest bands around and this is their finest album. Jason Novak's vocal deliverie is unique and absolutley great, the rest of this album is like a blend of pure coldwave perfection, this is probably the best coldwave album ever! I can't say anything bad about the Acucrack krew these guys are great you owe it to yourself to check this or any Acucrack Release.

Industrial music review Territory=Universe
This is one of the best CD's I have ever heard! Everything by this band is intelligent and easy to get into. Both versions of "Queener" are amazing, displaying a cross between Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, and Ministry. I definitely recommend ANY CD by this band!

Industrial music review Industrial True Grit
Its nice to see more bands keeping up the true industrial ferver. TMOLD is alive with hard core rythm and special effects. With Steve Watkins, the drummer for 16 VOLT, the mix couldn't get much better. Since the break up of 16 Volt anything from their members is pure gold. If you are looking for the solid industrial edge this is a band you will enjoy as much as I have.

Industrial music review Fun & Varied Industrial Music - Recommended....
I bought this CD after hearing one track by Scar Tissue on a compilation, and even though I liked the initial song, I liked the rest of the CD even more. The length is quite generous (almost 70 minutes) and the material is extremely varied. Most of the songs lean towards rhythmic noise.... But there are a couple of club-style songs, there's a song with a Middle Eastern flavor ("Gravity"), dark ambiant ("Crying Response Machine"), and even a song that sounds like it could be music for a Scottish war epic ("In This Place")..... It's very creative and textured...... be warned that there is no sung text at all, they rely very heavily on samples and occassional spoken text. The last 13 tracks are called "The Devices" and are all short snippets that you can listen to straight through or as filler between other songs (if you hit shuffle). I was quite satisfied with this purchase and am planning on buying some more of Scar Tissue's music.
