Industrial music review A very difersified Industrial/Dance CD
This album has to be one of my favorites. If you like industrial dance music, you must get this. Apoptygma's Electronic Warfare is arguablly the best track on the CD. The music ranges from the slightly mournful "I'm Not There" to the ulra-violent "Overgod." The tracks on this CD have allowed me to find some artists I would probably never heard of otherwise.

Industrial music review An excellent compliment to their last album
I was hoping for a new full length album, but Disidencia stands alone very well as a 5 track EP (even though track 3 is really just a short bridge to the last 2 tracks). Each song has the fast pulsating electronic beats Hocico fans have come to expect, as well as the violent yet passionate lyrics of their former works. It makes me wonder why they didn't use these songs as part of their next feature release. In any case, it's an excellent piece of electro-industrial that no fan of the genre should miss. This is definitely an EP worth your time.

Industrial music review The best of the trilogy
Dargaard's newest and last part of the trilogy is easily the best. Tharen does a lot of singing on this one, but mostly Toriser. They gone completely goth now and their work has improved. My favorite song is My Phantasm Supreme, but as always I like them all. I like the artwork a lot better than the other two. I highly reccomend you buy this CD.

Industrial music review Top Notch
If you like Gothic and Industrial you shoud LOVE this compilation! Most tracks are in fact very dark sounding, so as long as you aren't suicidal when you listen to it, you should be pleased! After picking this one up years ago, 2 of the featured artists ended up in my Cd collection as well: Circle of Dust and Requiem in White (who are now going by Mors Syphlitica)

Industrial music review THE BEST SHOW
The dope show was the first and one of the best songs I know of MECHANICAL ANIMALS.The song is a little slow and is appealing to everyone and not just mazza fans. The song is made even better with its brilliant video protraying the song showing an alien(Marilyn)been picked up by money making creeps who go on to sell him to the world. But the song is just another to fall into a long line of great songs from the band.

Industrial music review Innovative collision of progressive and industrial metal
Very rarely do you hear a CD and feel that it is something that is truly different, but that is exactly what you think the first time you hear Dragonspoon. Dragonspoon is the creation of Frank Aresti, former guitarist of Fates Warning. To generalize a bit, this release is best classified as industrial metal, but many tracks venture off into many directions, from verging on pure metal, to something you would hear at a rave, to dark, obscure pop, boundaries are not something that you will find here. Frank's guitar style is almost always evident, and fans of Fates Warning will find that Dragonspoon has definitely taken progressive metal into some uncharted waters. The guitar riffing, flowing leads, and the heavy guitar sound are definitely there for metal fans to enjoy. Many tracks are heavier and have more of an edge than Fates Warning, and the vocal style is more straight-ahead and aggressive than Fates as well. What is most enjoyable about this release is perhaps that Frank has extended many genres in a new direction. He takes progressive metal into a more industrial direction, and brings the complexity of progressive metal into the industrial genre, which in the past could get a little redundant. As the CD progresses, it gets more and more obscure and dark, and the flow brings you from an energetic beginning, to a dark mysterious end, but keeps you absorbed throughout. Another surprising innovation is that the release is almost totally created by computer, with the only traditional elements being the guitars and vocals. But as you listen, this doesn't even come into your mind.
The CD starts out with Just To Feel Alive Again, a heavy, catchy, metallic piece. The heaviness is continued with Devil's Gone Too Far. Both tracks feature heavy guitar riffing and aggressive vocals, but you definitely notice the electric vibe of Dragonspoon's industrial influence. Frank brings you right back into the world of metal with an ...lead in the second track. Smoothing the Way changes the pace a bit, but the trance like atmosphere slowly progresses into a straight ahead, pounding piece. The next track takes a drastic turn, reminding me a bit of the first time I heard Danse Macabre from Celtic Frost. The Dream is an interlude of electronic imagination that leads right into a wall of sound called Snap!. The heavy sound of the first two tracks comes back at a slower pace, but with a really cool sludgy, dark mood. At this point, the cd slowly starts its direction change. The Winding Ring has more of a rave feel to it, with almost a Nine Inch Nails type of groove. But, just when you think you are going down a different road, Breakout brings you right back to the heavy metal world, although again having a definite industrial feel to it. OK, so now you're thinking, well this is just a great industrial metal album with a few small twists. Guess again. The next track, Deep Blue Sea, is an awesome tune that is closer to something Madonna might put out while tripping on acid, except that Frank Aresti cannot resist throwing some distorted guitars in there just to remind you where you are. Continuing on, Dragonspoon throws in a classic cover of The Car's Moving In Stereo. Dragonspoon gives this classic track a hint of its own personality, but keeps it pretty close to its original form. Conjuring Grace is something that I would describe as morbid pop. Acoustic guitars make a rare appearance hear, over some eerie backing vocals that go good together with the morbid lyrics. Blade, one of Dragonspoon's older tracks, features a guitar riff that Fates Warning fans will relate to, and one of the catchier choruses on the CD. The final track is called My Favorite Stain, which if you don't watch it, will blow your speakers with its thundering bassy sound. This track is in the nature of the other dark, pop songs, but is probably the most obscure.
Whether you are a Fates Warning fan, and industrial music lover, a metal head, a gothic music fan, or just enjoy hearing innovations in music, Dragonspoon is a must hear. Frank Aresti's song writing is something to experience. Very rarely do you find someone who can bring such a deep mood to their music, where the music just absorbs you.

This by far is the best compilation album I own. It has afairly wide range of styles, all of which fit together perfectly. It'schaotic and and at the same time musical. Even if you're not familiar with some of the artists, I'm sure you'll find something you like . . . Buy it. It's worth more than it costs.

Industrial music review What a Deal!
This CD ROCKS! I picked it up for only 4 and a half bones at a record store in the mall , of all places. Every track is powerful, catchy and sometimes melodic. Its a fine introduction to a record label that puts out some of the best heavy music to come along in a while with old favourites (Carcass, Napalm Death, Cathedral and Godflesh ) to new(er) groups like Dub War and Pulkas. you get 15 songs for less than most fast food restaurants charge for lunch. A MUST HAVE!

Industrial music reivew Current 93 In Transition Great for all fans
Earth Covers Earth is a great work of David Bunting and a very large C93 grouping. This album showcases many styles of Current 93 including experimental noisescapes apocalyptic folk and the more orchestrated and poetic works like "Thunder Perfect Mind". This album is very influenced by Byron When Rome Falls, Falls the World and the title track. There is also an "eastern" and a traditional European folk influence here making for an interesting mix. The album is very easy to listen to and yet is immensely full of energy. This album is one of the most artistic works I have ever heard and is a great album for Current 93 fans as well as anyone who is seeking to expand their musical horizons.

The tracks on this album that are probably best are "Rome for Douglas P." (obviously this is Douglas Pierce of Death in June Fame), Hourglass For Rosy Abelisk and Hourglass For Diana. This last one is my favorite. The song is one big crescendo starting with a driving guitar and building to include flutes violins etch ultimately building to a massive wall of music and crashing to a stop. Beyond the very interesting instrumentation this track showcases Tibet's poetry and performance ability. The rest of the album is pretty interesting too and it is very well ordered ending with a noise epic track that fits and certainly is not filler. The only negative to this album is that its recording could have been a bit cleaner.
So why only four stars? Well this album is truly a magnificent find to the c93 fan as well as fans of the experimental/avant garde/art genres. It is still a great album for others but I think if I were to introduce C93 I would use other material. Some of there stuff is so good that this cant compare at the five star level. It is great music and I do suggest that you get a copy of this album it is very interesting and I haven't heard an album lately that even come close to the artiness that this work presents.
