Industrial music review A new edge
2001'S "Animostity" found sevendust in a more commercial, accsesable sound. Initially when I bought animosity, I kinda overlooked "live again", but as time passed, in my personal opioin "live again" is one of the best tunes on animosity.

Industrial music review An Amazing Live Album
The best live album I have ever heard. The sound quality is great. Coupled with its live energy, "Live Sky Tour" is almost better than their studio material.

Industrial music review The First of Four!
From "Very Friendly" to "New After Cease to Exist" this CD is the mindkiller. TG fans should seek out this 4-CD set. Great effects work from these audio warriors; the Chris Carter mastering does wonders to these previously cassette only epics of audio mayhem. Each track drawing you into more worlds of weird. Sits nicely next to 2nd annual report and Heathen Earth. Tons of super distorted synths and bass dragging the depths of techno horror. Echoing passage ways into feedback mantra/alien-clicking and strong-man industrial throw-down! The sonic sounds will please you, ease you, and make your science-fiction lifestyle complete. Psst....Mute has the whole set if you can't get it here...ssshhhhh:)

Industrial music review future sounds
I like this quite a bit. I took a chance on it since I had read about CV being innovative. I am not the biggest industrial fan, but I like older industrial. This album is essential listening for anyone interested in this period of industrial music. It manages to be ambient and propulsive, dark and humorous at the same time. After hearing these singles, I want to hear CV in full-length form.

Industrial music review An essential collection of early (real) Industrial Musick

Industrial music review Great Industrial CD Single
The first track on this CD single is a fierce remix of "Longue Route," followed by another favorite of mine, a Kurt Weill cover: "September Song"--a very slow, but ambient song with the ocean swelling in the background. It's also the only English-spoken track on here and can be found on their tribute album: "Play Kurt Weill." The CD wraps up with two rousing live tracks recorded in Germany and Switzerland.

    The complete track listing:

    1. Longue Route (Remix)
    2. September Song
    3. Envoye (Live Zurich 21-12-89)
    4. Pas Mal (Live Frankfurt 16-11-89)

Industrial music review Greatest Band EVER!!!
HIM has done it again. I was speechless after I first heard "Razorblade Romance"...mesmerized after listening to "Deep Shadows And Brilliant Highlights" and was a mixture of the two after listening to the "Love Metal" album. I can't stop listening to it over and over again. With great lyrics, awesome guitar solos...how could you not like this album?? If your a HIM fan...you have to buy this album!! You definitly won't regret it!!!!!!

    Industrial music review Love Metal
I must say that this album has to be one of their best. The lyrics are extremely intense, for example in The Sacrament, which has to be one of their best songs on this album. They have sort of moved away from what they have sung in their previous albums, as I found most of the songs sounded the same for example in Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights even though it was a very good album. The songs in Love Metal are much more unique with a more profound meaning in each. The actual music is a lot louder, by that meaning, it's more, can't think of the word, ummm, not noisy but more rock style with heavier drum beats. This CD is a must for all those who love HIM and appreciate their music. Valo has really made a breakthrough for music.

Industrial music review What a release!
Razorblade Romance was hard and heavy. Deep Shadows was carm and more commercial. Now Love Metal is both put together, and made better.

Trust me, if you like HIM (Her), you wont be disapointed.

    1. Buried Alive By Love - 5/5 A great starting track. Fast, good lyrics, a nice opening!
    2. The Funeral Of Hearts - 5/5 A quiter, but great song with a great catchy chorus.
    3. Beyond Redemption - 4/5 This is heavy with a great solos. V. Nice song.
    4. Sweet Pandemonium - 5/5 Great rif, awesome chorus, with a nice heavy couple of guitar strums before the chorus gets under way, GREAT!
    5. Soul On Fire - 5/5 The best song they have ever made. Fast from the word go, and great drumming. My fav song on the CD.
    6. The Sacrament - 4/5 The lead track, but still a great track.
    7. This Fortress Of Tears - 4/5 Nice rif, but overall, not the best track on the CD.
    8. Circle Of Fear - 4/5 Similar to the previous track, however slightly heavier with a nice tune. Good lyrics.
    9. Endless Dark - 5/5 A good heavy track, a awesome catchy chorus and a nice set of solos and piano playing. Good song.
    10. The Path - 5/5 One of HIMs greatest songs, a perfect ender. Long, great guitar and bass playing with a huge solo, and a heavy riff towards the end.

A SUPERB RELEASE FROM HIM! Keep it coming!

Industrial music reivew Worth it just for "The Last Thoughts Before Sleep"...
...of course, the rest is good, too. This is a very solid collection of Lycia live performances, which any Lycia aficionado will want to own. Recorded through about '93-'94, it's got a good mix of cuts from _Ionia_ and _A Day in the Stark Corner_, and is also quite notable for two songs--"Nine Hours Later" and "The Facade Fades"--from the double-disc _The Burning Circle and Then Dust_ that were recorded before the release of that album. The versions of those songs are noticeably different here from their album versions, especially "The Facade Fades," which sounds much stronger and rawer than the glossy, synth-heavy one on the album, and benefits a lot from the live treatment.

The best thing about this live collection, though, is the 19-minute instrumental epic "The Last Thoughts Before Sleep," recorded at the "beautifulnoise" festival in Tempe, AZ. It's a medley of pieces drawn from different songs, including "The Morning Breaks so Cold and Grey," "SunBeatsHard" (from the Bleak side-project album _Vane_), and I think something that later turned into "InVain", from _Vane_. Terrific propulsive drum patterns, expansive and powerful guitar work, and great compositional segues make this piece a tour de force and alone worth the cost of the CD, in my book.

Oh, and also notable is the closing song, a version of "Everything Is Cold" that sounds like it was recorded in soundcheck somewhere, and before and after which Mike VanPortfleet's spoken voice is audible (chatting with David Galas, I guess), which sounds very different from his singing voice! The inclusion of that song, in that way, is almost humorous(!), and shows that Mike is not just some dour gothboy. Lycia always way transcended "goth" for me, certainly.

Industrial music review Brilliant live Lycia
For those of you who have never seen Lycia live and never will since the band brokeup this is the CD for you. Lycia is one of the great unknowns in terms of Darkware Goth bands. They never became as popular as The Sisters Of Mercy or The Fields Of The Nephilim but this band is one of the greats. Live is a great introduction to Lycia from the slow start of The Intro to the unbelievably epic "The Last Thoughts' this is a journey into introspection, pain and lose. Live Lycia is an epic journey into the world of swirling atmospheric guitars and Mike Van Portfleets somber vocals. Live won't let you go until it's finished and when it is you'll want it to embrace you again. Lycia may be gone but thankfully we have this masterwork.

Industrial music reivew what you would expect... from a live c.d.
If you are like me (looking for some new and different music to experience), you are curious about neurosis, and/or you want to save some $$$ and buy only one of their cds... i would highly recomend that you get live in stockholm.
first off i would like to mention that the sound quality in LiS is actually pretty good, not excellent, not bad but pretty good (for a live album to say the least). the songs on LiS run smoothly together, meaning the songs do not coincide with each other ruining the serious mood that LiS creates, which brings me to another important thing I would like to mention. this is a live cd, so you will hear the (stockholm)people clapping and cheering before and after each of the songs, which may bother some people but other that that there is really nothing to complain about...
About the music neurosis plays. this is not thrash, death, or anything hardcore. think about bands like tool or isis. the songs range from 5:53 to 11:49, you think you would get bored but instead you are hypnotized by it and they start to grow on you. after you listen to neurosis you will feel very different. if you do get this or any other neurosis cd's i would recomend you listening to them at night by yourself (turn up the volume really high too) and if your brave enough close your eyes.

Industrial music review The best way to experience Neurosis live at home.
"Live in Stockholm" presents basically the same tracklist as "Live in Lyon", which is kinda weird, actually the two discs were originally recorded with about two weeks of diference. But this one is actually better. The sound quality is far superior and it has two songs from the "Times of Grace" era that don?t appear in "Lyon", so, if you?re a big Neurosis fan (like me) you should get this record, if you only need one Neurosis live album (from the same tour) and don?t own "live in Lyon", get this one, and if you already have it and don?t care much for a slighlty different setlist, you could probably wait and hope that the next disc on this series comes from a different tour. Whatever the case may be, Neurosis is one of the greatest live bands on earth and this CD proves it.
