Industrial music review Little Old but great!
This Enhaced CD contains the Sweet Dreams and Beautiful People video, but it's pretty old: Compressed in AVI format and compatible whit Windows 98 (it hangs on Windows XP, however the videos can be played). The video resolution is poor, but it's a great CD if you like those videos!.

Industrial music review Two hit songs, a remix, a ditty and two music videos
This is a good buy, because it has the original version of Beautiful People, a remix of it called the Horrible People, which provides good variety. Then it has Sweet Dreams, which put them on the musical map with their original rendition of the Eurhythmics song from the 80s. The CD closes out with the brisk melody of Cryptorchid from the Antichrist Superstar album. When you get done listening to the music, you can pop the CD into your computer and watch the Beautiful People and Sweet Dreams in full screen video. Incase you haven't seen the Beautiful People, it has the normal Manson oddity and some nice special effects to it such as Manson's stilt legs which grow and shrink. There is even a nice parody of Nine Inch Nails playing the Beautiful People throughout the video. Meanwhile, Manson's third video ever is on the CD as well, Sweet Dreams, which is more artistic, featuring lots of different fashions for Manson. From wearing a tutu and candy striped tights to covered completely in mud with a cowboy hat riding a pig! There are other interesting inventions of his in the video such as his stilts that he wears to walk around stage at his concerts. It's a very nice video.

Industrial music review The enhanced portion is unbelieveble
Not only is the music great, it's enhanced when you play it on your computer it plays 2 of his music videos "The Beautiful People" and "Sweet Dreams" Im telling you buy it and you won't be dissapointed.

Industrial music review Must have album!
One of the greatest albums I have ever heard from a unique and outstanding group of musicians!
By far their most versatile and inspirational album
Totally ambitious and an altogether wild ride to take!
Unfortunately the band's last album together, but what a great way to go out!
Jim Marcus is a living genius and has done amazing work with side projects such as Oxygiene 23 and Everplastic
The highest rating allowed is a 5, otherwise I would've just given it a "Y" because the album just cannot be put into words or numerical scores

Industrial music review I thoroughly enjoyed this album
I discovered Die Warzau back in 89 when I came across a copy of the compilation 'Mercury's Conviction'. Something about the band struck me, and I quickly picked up a copy of the dark, atmospheric 'Disco Rigido'. I love that album, which reminds me of a lot of the darkwave/industrial coming out around that time (like Nitzer Ebb and some of the Front 242), but this new album definitely shows a maturity. By far my favorite song is Allgoodgirls. Make an album of more songs like this! The band comfortably scales the walls of techno, industrial and funk, but still hold true to their original dark/dance sound. 5 stars

Industrial music review The Best of the First Line-Up
Ozric T are excellect musicians. This record over all has the best material that the original line up has written. To be honest, the band is CLEARLY influenced by Daevid Allen's Gong- in particular- the albums You and Angel's Egg. But these guys took it that step further, which only a fresh band could do. The guitarist and both keyboardist can REALLY play. They create ambient psychodelic moods and grooves that are simply fantastic, if you are into it. You can feel the synergy of the band at this time in their careers. It all comes together here, on Erpland, for the inception of the band. Just a note: The record was recorded in 1987. Enough said. Ingenious spin!

Industrial music reivew Not the penultimate, but damn good.

If you're easily offended, well, THIS IS NOT FOR YOU.

"Satan Place" is a song about a man going to hell set to surf music...

Compare this with music made by poseurs like Marilyn Hanson, ten years later. They made music without one iota of the inspiration or passion (or dare I say it... HUMOR) that exists here. This is the real deal. Circa '89 you got an extra disc when you bought this album on vinyl, seek it out if you care...

This was provacative madness via mid 80's agitpop... Mr. Thirlwell's opus "Nail" is better, but not by much. Awesome cutting edge music not for the faint of heart.

I'll see you in Poland, baby.

Industrial music review #1 Indie album of 1984
1984, time to reminisce. All of the newspapers are commenting on how Orwell's vision didn't come to pass, while Reagan & Thatcher are hatching their little wars. Alternative goes mainstream, Eurythmics write the soundtrack for 1984, Art of Noise duet with Max Headroom, and FGTH's video for Two Tribes gets banned from MTV in the daytime. So where's alternative headed? Either the folk/60's inspired rock in the US (REM, Let's Active...) or towards more experimental synth/goth/industrial hybrids in the EU/UK (Sisters of Mercy, Einsturzende Neubauten,...). So Ministry & J. Thirwell go against the grain in the US & (initially) get more attention overseas than in the US. I was quite interested in this one because it sat on top of the NME's indie album chart for the longest time (I got most of my indie music info from the NME reviews & charts) & although I had never heard it, concluded it must be good (if it could stay there longer than the usual 1 week norm), needless to say the band name helped. So when it finally got a domestic release, I gave up the cash despite the fact that I hadn't heard a note. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Although I wasn't a big fan of Big Black (except for the early singles), I found this combination of industrial, rock, synths & dramatic (dare I say operatic) vocals to be quite compelling. More musical and literate than most punk that preceded it, yet no chance of it ever becoming the soundtrack for a cola ad. Listening to it again, more than 20 years later, it holds up pretty well. Still quite catchy. Too bad that the bonus EP isn't included as extra tracks though.

Industrial music review I cannot recommend this enough
No matter how lousy I feel this always makes life livable. You have to have this. I have all his stuff except for Manorexia, York, Love, Ache, and the Marc Almond stuff. In addition with Hole this is the ultimate Foetus. Every song, especially Lust for Death, is GREAT. Alive, fun, and funny incorporating Beach Boys and TV themes, metal percussion, and witty lyrics. By chance I noticed JG Thirwell does the music for some show called Venture Bros on the Cartoon Network.

Industrial music reivew Seminal & Subliminal
The second full length effort by early German industrialists SPK, Leichenscrei is more of an ambient train wreck than the more concise new wave experiments they would later dabble in, beginning with 1983's Metal Dance EP (which featured the crucial addition of Graeme Revell). Interestingly enough, while the band members preferred to retain their anonymity, an insert titled "Dokument 2" was included in early copies of the album detailing their growing interest in multimedia presentation of their work, and encouraging listener feedback as to the success of these groundbreaking experiments. In the next decade, the commercial success of rock-based acts such as Nine Inch Nails would obscure the original intention of industrial music, which was to update the trance-inducing characteristics of tribal music into the modern age, but by all accounts Leichenscrei must be considered a compelling example to re-evaluate this artistic conceit.

Industrial music review wow just wow
nothing will ever beat the old school sound, this album is what its all about people, put down the vnv nation and get this if u want to step to the other side.

Industrial music review This is why people started to say Industrial sounded like machines
Sadly forgotten by pretty much everyone these days, SPK was the most idealistic, interesting and just plain insane industrial group of the entire movement. While much of TG adopts the anarchy-as-an-art-form approach, SPK used machines, samples, metals, scientific research and photograph and mindnumblingly loud distorted tones as a focused political statement.

Anyone who hasn't heard the REAL industrial from the political movement of the late 70's needs this record. I also recommend reading SPK's dokuments if you have interest in the philosophy behind the initial creation of industrial music and records like this (if there are any others... I need Information Overload Unit).

This album is a flowing, themed masterpiece... with absolutely no melody. If you prefer a more calm, melodic and artistic but still just as well crafted SPK buy Zamia Lehmanni, a brilliant and peaceful record.

This is not for the faint of heart. Pigs screaming, gruesome descriptions of the effects of napalm, a creepy voice describing someone trying to intentionally give them diseases, breaking glass, low end blasts, high frequency tones, etc. This was designed to make you agitated.

Highly recommended for anyone that would still be interested after reading this description of it, as well as other people's.

Industrial music review I See the White Light!
I am a hardcore Industrial Goth fanatic, but I am always up for trying out new tunes that digress from this genre. I happened upon T.O.Y.'s "Fairytale." It interested me enough to get the album "White Lights," and, well....it's so darn PRETTY! It's so mellow and flowy and romantic in a "makes you think" and "makes you dance" sort of way. Man, this review will now probably turn you off. But really, this is good stuff! Just because it's pretty doesn't mean it's for weenies by any means.

Industrial music review Flawless, atmospheric synthpop
What a pleasant surprise it was to listen to this CD. I've enjoyed Evil's Toy and didn't know what to expect after the format change.

This is great synthpop, lushly atmospheric, dark yet catchy, sweet yet melancholy. White Lights ranks right up there with Awakening by Iris and A Secret Wish by Propaganda in the steller synthpop CD dept. A great listen from start to finish, check out "Beyond Sleep".

Dynamite evolution by a great band.

Industrial music review Great stuff!
This whole CD is wonderful, and if you can find the limited edition with bonus remixes, that's even better. The conversion of Evil's Toy in to T.O.Y. was an excellent decision, if not simply a natural progression. Morbid Mind era Evil's Toy fans may not appreciate the synthpop leanings here, but if you are a fan of Angels Only! and beyond you might want to pick up this chapter of the Evil's Toy / T.O.Y. story.

Industrial music review Kindel's Amazing Debut
Kindel's creation 'Liquefaction' is the new powerhouse in the industrial electronica scene with the powerful debut of 'Chrysalis' that was followed up earlier this year by the beautiful unmatched sophmore album 'Emerge'. I have corresponded with Kindel the artist and can only say that she is a wonderful person who is very helpful to answer queries. I am now a fully-fledged fan of Liquefaction and this debut album has 13 wonderfully captivating tracks. The music ranges from brooding electronica pieces to an ethereal dance rhythm. Kindel's vocals add to the strength and complexity of the lyrics and the sound of the songs. She has such a wonderfully powerful voice that can take hold of the listener and move them with the enticing elixir of her sounds. There are some very notable songs like 'Solipsystic' that is more of a dance beat song. Then you have the vocal amazement of 'Are You My Enemy' an almost entrancing song. 'Breath' is a cross between dark melodies mixed with ambient synths. Then the 3 remixes of Solipsystic, Dollhouse, Heaven From Here are also highlights. The weakest song in this tight album was 'Knotted Wire' which was a battered industrial theme that just didn't seem to come together.
Kindel's debut album is superb and I recommend this piece of mastery to any industrial or ambient music fan.

Industrial music review Liquefaction:Chrysalis...Alien, Inc. Review
Liquefaction's "Chrysalis" Album took my quite by surprise. As a long-time fan of Kindel's music, I really appreciated the growth from her last album to the creation of Liquefaction. And such passion from a young woman shows that she's got what it takes to keep on making good records for millenia to come. I'd recommend this album to anyone looking to find the answer to their question, "What is THE album I need to buy?"

Industrial music review eclectic
It's an eclectic mix of unique sounds, rhythm, and vocals hat harmonize in a beautiful melodic mix. It is well worth buying and is great listen.

Industrial music reivew Not Bad
Although short, this album is potent and worth a certain amount of money. Fun fact: A song on this album, No More Love, was in the movie Johnny Mnemonic (with Keanu Reeves). I have better music, but every once in a while I listen to this. If you like God Lives Underwater, make sure you check out Empty.

Industrial music review A Brief Introduction To A Great Band...
Although this ep is brief at just over 24 minutes long, God Lives Underwater self-titled ep is full of breakneck beats and adrenaline. It's absolutely worth finding.

"Drag Me Down" rages at a frantic pace with breakneck guitars, a speedy pace, and pure angst. The already known "No More Love" throttles at full speed and has an irresistible beat. "Lonely Again" is emotional, spacy, and heartfelt. "Waste of Time" has a Nine Inch Nails-ish feel, but make no mistake, it is God Lives Underwater's own.

This self-titled ep introduces us to God Lives Underwater, and you'll find that their blend of rock and techno is rather refreshing. Even more so, it's an exhilarating blend that works in many ways. Give this one a spin, and also check out EMPTY.

Industrial music review Definitely worth the money, describes the band well
I think another reviewer described this album best when they said that although this album was high-priced for only six tracks, these are six great tracks. And, as this reviewer also truthfully stated, that IS more than most full albums can give you. After all, some of the best CD's ever released have been only EP's ("Opiate" by Tool and "Vempire" by Cradle Of Filth). All in all, this EP is some of God Lives Underwater's best work, compiled to give the listener a look into what this band is and their complex sound. If you want to check the band out before fully committing to buying their albums, this is a good starting point, as it describes the group's work best and captures the general feel of all their songs. The amazing trait that God Lives Underwater has is that there really isn't another band like them, that has the ability to combine hard alternative/grunge rock and intense techno/electronica, mix it all together and come out with pure industrial that has a vibe all it's own. Compiling fast, effect layered guitar lines with slick drum sampling, synthesized keyboards, and bass that can put lame hip-hop songs to shame, not to mention some of the most emotional lyrics that you can actully relate to, it's all individual and the group's very own. The only way to truly "review" this album is to break it down song by song, emphasizing each track. "Drag Me Down", the opening track, has a fast-paced, fierce drum machine beat pumping in the background over a wicked guitar line, none of which ever lets up the entire song. Definitely one of the band's most intense tracks, and probably the best on this EP. "No More Love" is the only song that is on both this self-titled EP and their first full studio album: "Empty". Also their first big single, it's a crazed mix of synthesizers and drums similar to "Nothing" and "Try" later on. Also, one of the bands better songs. "Lonely Again" is a slower song, the lyrics more touching and emotional than the anger and desperation of some of the other vocals, very similar to "23" off of "Empty". "Nothing", as stated before sounds alike to "No More Love". The synthesizers and zips in it measure up to some of today's most intense techno artist's work. The 5th song, "Try", is once again very similar to "No More Love" and "Drag Me Down". Still a good song, but probably my least favorite off of here due to the weaker chorus than some of the other tracks. However, the bass in this song makes up for the lack of a convincing chorus. It's purely explosive and on the right system sounds amazing. "Waste Of Time", the closing track, is very impressive as well. Very fast and intense, with relatable lyrics (talking about relationships gone awry I'm guessing). Even after a breakdown of every song, God Lives Underwater as a whole can't be emphasized enough. If you're into ANYTHING techno, industrial, alternative, or grunge, I have no doubt that you'll enjoy this. Also get "Empty", their first full album, which is basically an extension of this. "Life In The So-Called Space Age" is cool techno as well, but unfortunately the band gives up the live instruments for pure electronics. Their work is weird, cool, creative, and powerful. What's not to like about it?

Industrial music reivew Raymond Watts' worst since Praise The Lard
I don't know how people can say that this is a great record with songs like Salambo, Whore, and Flesh Fest...they suck...BAD! I loved Sinsation and Wrecked, but this album carries the same forced, cheesy feel that made The Swining and Praise the Lard stinkers. The bad instrumentals(black brothel), the even worse spanish-influenced songs(Salambo), and the mediocre songs(Flesh Fest). There is no way this is his best work, and you're crazy if you think it is. If you like the awesome heavy industrial feel of Sinsation and Wrecked, then I recommend you get his latest album called Pigmartyr released under the band name WATTS...It's the same guitar-driven industrial, but the songs are the best things he has made...totally recommended. You should check out the KMFDM albums NAIVE, ATTAK, and WWIII. They have Raymond Watts' doing what he does best on songs like Blackball, Flesh, and Preach/Pervert....Those songs are some of his best...seriously. Of course this is all my opinion, but I recommend skipping Genuine American Monster, as well as Praise The Lard and The Swining.

Industrial music reivew Modest Opinion
This was the first pig cd that I bought. Overall I am very happy with it. The biggest dissapointment were the lyrics and instrumentals. The lyrics just seem unintelligent and rushed.

1. Prayer Praise & Profit
This is a nice catchy tune. Th lyrics are of course lame. It starts off with a cool orchestral intro. Then a drum beat kicks in. The whole song is basically this drum beat with some electronics in the background. Very cool song. 7/10
2. Riot Religion & Righteousness
Just by looking at the title of the song you can tell his lyrics are pretty bad. It is a techno song with some guitar. The song is Raymond basically saying something very repetitive in a robotic voice. The music in the song is very good though, and the robotic voice adds a lot to it. 7/10
3. Salambo
Easily one the best songs on the cd. Has a cool mambo theme throughout the song. 8/10
4. Whore
Slow song, mundane lyrics, repetitive music.
4/10
5. Flesh Fest
Another very good song. I love raymonds singing in this song.
8/10
6. Black Brothel
Lame instrumental
1/10
7. Disrupt Degrade & Devastate
Very good blend of rock and techno. Has a nice chorus with a female.
7/10
8. F.O.M.
Mixes between fast metal and slow techno. Interesting is a word for it.
6/10
9. A Fete Worse Than Death
I had no idea what a fete was so I looked it up. It's a party. I don't like the title or lyrics. The music is very cool and it's my favorite song on the cd.
8/10
10. Cry Baby
Very unique tune of a woman speaking in japanese. Not a whole lot of "music" though.
4/10
11. Inside
THIS IS THE LONGEST AND WORSE INSTRUMENTAL EVER CREATED
14 MINUTES!
0/10
12. Saved Remix
Very cool remix of saved.

Industrial music review It's a good thing they brought it to the U.S.!
This was first released in Japan, so it wasn't sure whether they were going to release it in the U.S. or not. It's a good thing they did, because this is one of Pig's more solid efforts. Plus, they added an extra track to the U.S. edition. This is the epitome of techno rock, with Guenter Schulz from KMFDM and Slick Idiot adding some assistance.

1. Prayer, Praise, and Profit - 10/10 - The best opening for any song EVER, a masterful orchestrated opening builds up to a heavy guitar rift. The chorus is simply fantastic. Put simply, this song is SWEET.
2. Riot, Religion, and Righteousness - 10/10 - An electronic song with some guitars. Raymond Watts sings in a robotic voice, except during the chorus, which is the best chorus ever made for a song. If you can't understand the lyrics, go to www.raymondwatts.com and find them out. You don't want to miss out on them.
3. Salambo - 9/10 - Bordering on Tango, this industrial Mariachi mix might turn hardcore Industrial fans from listening to it, but it's quite a treat. You'll be in a for a pleasant surprise.
4. Whore - 9/10 - Basically, the lyrics are just a lot of Pig's songs/album titles thrown together. The music is very slow and low-key, but it builds up to a rocking electronic chorus.
5. Flesh Fest - 10/10 - Mainly a rock song, but with some Jazz elements, and a Tango-like keyboard near the end. Watch out of the lyrics, some of them are quite offensive.
6. Black Brothel - 9/10 - A really short instrumental, somewhat of a rehash of Transceration from Sinsation, with some piano added in.
7. Disrupt, Degrade, and Devastate - 10/10 - Probably the most famous song off here, this had its own single. With lyrics attacking religion, awesome guitars, and skillfully placed electronic work, you can't go wrong.
8. F.O.M. - 10/10 - Just so you know, the guitar is SUPPOSED TO SKIP in the beginning. There's nothing wrong with your CD player. Anyway, most of the music is very quiet techno, but the chorus has some of the best heavy guitar on the album. Like most of the songs on this album, the chorus is amazing.
9. A Fete Worse Than Death - 9/10 - This and Salambo are the catchiest songs on the album. The cool thing about this song is that samples from a movie are used, and they actually don't sound out of sync with the chorus. This has the best electronic and guitar work on the album. The only reason it doesn't get a perfect 10 is because Raymond Watts doesn't sing the chorus. Also, a female singer gets a solo near the end of the song, and her singing is terrible. She sounds like a horrible knock-off of Patti LaBelle.
10. Cry Baby - 2/10 - It has good percussion near the beginning, but that's the only good point about this song. The vocals are done by Raymond Watts, they're spoken word vocals done by some random guy talking in Spanish. The song is very creepy, don't play this with the lights out.
11. Inside - 9/10 - A very long instrumental, it also has a New Age feel to it like Transceration from Sinsation or Watt from A Stroll in the Pork. It also has some jungle-like drums near the end. The only downside is that it's too long, clocking in at over 10 minutes.
12. Saved (Locust Remix) - 10/10 - A remix of Save Me from Wrecked, this is the U.S.-only bonus track, although it's also on Prime Evil. It's just as good as the original, although the vocals are distorted, they sound cool that way. The vocals are also chopped up and re-sequenced to actually create a rhythm. The main lyrics and chorus are still sung normally, though.

OVERALL SCORE: 8.9/10
CONCLUSION: Sadly, this is Pig's last album. Raymond Watts is now in a band called Watts. However, this is fairly recent, and won't go out of print anytime soon (hopefully). Still, you should get a copy to add to your collection.

Industrial music reivew RAMMSTEIN LIVE
This live Rammstein CD is AWESOME!! The double CD set is extremely hard to find but well worth it. First of all it covers the entire Rammstein concert from the DVD Live Aus Berlin and more. The double set import version also has longer versions of the songs on the American version. Song selection and music is great, but the sound quality could be a little better. Like most live CDs this one could sound a little louder. The sound level seems low for some reason. But all in all this is probably the best Rammstein CD out there! If you like Rammstein enough to buy a cd, this is a must have! P.S. see the live concert (DVD) before you buy this, it will enhance the cd.
