New Wave music reivew Goodbye Horses / Hello Euphoria!
Attention "Silence Of The Lambs" fans. This CD has the Ultra- Rare Q Lazzarus song (Goodbye Horses) you have been searching for! The hauntingly beautiful music playing while Buffalo Bill struts his stuff is here in all it's glory in a 6 min. 25 sec. extended version! Worth the price of this disc on it's own. However, the rest of the disc will make you want to wax up the dance floor and return to the Synth Pop sounds of the 80's!

New Wave music review Nice piece for music collection
I bought this for one song that was no longer available to buy on it's own. With that in mind, I'm glad to have the other songs too. You know how you get that feeling from way way way back in your mind and things you haven't thought about in years come back? That's what happened when this was playing in the background. Good music from the teenage and early twenties of my life.

New Wave music review As Must Have
I must admit I originally wanted this cd because of the ultra rare 12" mix of Love Parade from The Dream Academy. Many if not all are very hard to finds. I could have done without Tears For Fears on this cd but for the rest it's a true find for people looking for the real eighties dance music. A must have for any serious collector.

New Wave music review Brilliant! Perhaps Captain's Best Effort
This CD will be one of your best purchases ever. Seriously, the whole range of Captain Sensible's many talents are on display on Revolution Now. Captain is one of the most underrated musicians/song writers around. But I am encouraged. Word of his genius is increasingly getting around.

New Wave music review One of Captain's best
Captain's thrid album very good worth the cash full of syths and poppy toons.

New Wave music review WHOLE LOTTA GOOD TUNES
OOH YES I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR WEREWOLVES OF LONDON CUT 2 FOR A LONG TIME NOW I HAVE IT AWSOME I LOVE THE MUSIC OF THE 70'S A GREAT ERA OF OUR TIME FOR ISSUES AND GREAT MUSIC,I HAVE THE BOX SET OF GREATEST HITS OF THE 70'S THAT ONE IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN THIS ONE BUT THIS IS STILL A GOOD CD

New Wave music review A Diamond in the Rough You Need!
Unlike other various hits collections, this CD actually presents original hits without any type of hatchet job editing. Though many of the tracks are readily available elsewhere ("If I Can't Have You," "Boogie Oogie Oogie," "Just What I Needed," and many other dance-related songs), where else could you find Flash & the Pan's cult rocker "Hey St. Peter" or the elusive #1 hit "Too Much, Too Little, Too Late" by Johnny Mathis & Deniece Williams? Rockers "Don't Look Back" and "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" are presented in their full uncut glory.

New Wave music review Excellent...more more more!
My very first China Crisis live CD. First time I heard this CD was back when I was in the Philippines...1987? Who knows. Anyways, I am glad this came out in CD format. I think China Crisis was promoting their Flaunt the Imperfection album when they did this concert. Most of the songs are from that album. This is a RARE live album because they played as a full set group with bells and whistles, not like the Acoustically Yours CD where they sounded...well acoustic.

This is a recommended CD for anyone who is into China Crisis. One thing to note though, on the song "You Did Cut Me" they made a bit of a booboo on the last part of the song. Gary sounded a bit offkey as if he was trying to find the right note where band's key/chord was. Very noticeable but hey it's live and nobody's perfect. Another little issue I have is that they played the songs REALLY REALLY fast.

Buy this CD. You won't be disappointed.

New Wave music review Wow
The title "Scrapbook 1" might lead you to believe this is just another collection of previously released material - as if there weren't already enough. But don't let the title fool you. This is fresh, never before released live material from a concert performed during the band's peak. It primarily features songs from "Flaunt the Imperfection" plus a few classics from their earlier albums.

The performance is excellent, and so is the recording quality - this is no fuzzy sounding bootleg. Hearing this CD makes me wish I had been able to see them back then. The live arrangements of these old familiar songs brings them to life in new and unexpected ways. Even tracks that I found a bit flat on the original studio recordings are exciting in this performance. I admit I didn't really expect much from this CD when I ordered it, but I must now place it among my favorites.

I just hope there is a "Scrapbook 2" in the works.

If you like China Crisis even just a little bit, don't miss this CD. Snag it up before it disappears into obscurity. You won't be disappointed.

New Wave music review Classic Songs, New Sound!
Forget those other recent "Best of" compilations and "Acoustic" CDs...This is the album we have been waiting for! A must have for any China Crisis Fan! I've never heard any of these live versions before and they are just superb! Even if you have most or all of their albums, this live material is truly unique! And I am glad that tracks like "Bigger the punch I'm feeling", "Seven sports for all", Highest High, and "Tragedy and mystery" made it; aside from the more popular "Wishful thinking", "You did cut me" and "Black man ray".

Just one complaint,...why are the "introductory comments" for a song always placed at the end of the PREVIOUS track? Thus, if you don't play the songs in sequence, the comments will not be in order. Shouldn't they have been placed at the start of the song instead. Oh well...

Turn up the volume and enjoy!

New Wave music review An extraordinary CD for relaxation
This CD is one of my favorites for harp music and for relaxation. Behind Ms. Kelly's blissful music you will hear the gentle sound of oceanwaves. This CD is an effective aid for insomnia. I have given it to others who have used it effectively to reduce stress, anxiety and irritability in adults and children. While there are many artists who create music to ease stress or insomnia, this one is especially effective. Finally, although it appears that Ms Kelly's music is out of circulation, new CDs at very reasonable prices can be obtained online from Ms Kelly's website and I am shocked by the outrageous prices other vendors are asking for a used copy of this CD.

New Wave music review an unknown gift...
I'm not really into this kind of music, but this harp music is very elusive and well crafted. The pieces sing to you and take you on a journey.

New Wave music review A place for sanctuary
What a disappointment to discover that this recording is no longer available. I have had a cassette for the past 12 years and my fondness for the music has never waned. It is a wonderful collection, a prayer of sound.

New Wave music review Short and Sweet Alright!!
This EP is very short, but very sweet to the ears!! It's a pity it is so short and before you know it the CD's finished! For such a short CD there is great variation amongst the songs, that none of the 4 songs are filler. Well worth getting it!

New Wave music review Short and oh so sweet!
Although only consisting of 4 songs, so really an EP, this album has puts on display the quality and diversity of The Australian Crawl's music. Reckless: A classic ballard. The Night: A Funk Rock beauty with wrought, grinding guitars and a cool rythym. White Limbo: A funk choon with a throbbing beat. And Looking For Cool: A sad but really groovy sound of minimal amplification with great percussion. For me just these four songs completely capture the sound of the Australian Crawl. A perfect compliment to this classic EP would be 'Crawl File' by the same group. However Semantics is untouchable for just sheer ambience and summer happiness! Buy it! I've yet to hear a better or more complete EP. It is definitely worth the money!

New Wave music review Collectors Already!
I've been a DJ for over 10 years and frankly I'm real tired of the same old versions of the great 80's tunes we're so used to. These remixes are familiar enough to satisfy your clients AND YOU!
The extra bonus of course are the abundance of rare remixes never before seen on CD. If you're a collector, you better get this series while you can and get every one! This is a killer collection and if you look at the price you can see that they are already getting premium dollar and they are not even out of print yet! Buy as many as you can afford!

New Wave music reivew All The Best From The Knack
I can remember the summer of 1979 when "My Sharona" was released. I was going in to my freshman year of high school, and I heard that song, along with "Good Girls Don't" playing on the radio all the time. Needless to say, I was glad to find a cd that contained both of these songs from my high school years, as well as some other pretty good songs as well.

The Knack gets most of their acclaim for their highly successful debut album, which included "Your Number or Your Name" and "(She's So) Selfish)", which are on this disc as well. But their second album, "But The Little Girls Understand" is good in its own right, and I was glad to see that "Baby Talks Dirty" from that album was included on this cd. There's some other songs on this disc that I've never heard before, such as "Africa" and "Don't Look Back", but they still have that distinctive Knack sound.

This is a very good cd. Their signature songs ("My Sharona" and "Good Girls Don't") headline the list of songs, but the others are good as well. Pick up this great disc and hear the anthology of one of the early 80's first great rock and roll groups. (By the way, the Knack's lead singer really did date a girl named Sharona).

New Wave music review More To Offer Than You Might Think
I bought this Cd for one reason, so I could listen to "My Sharona" whenever I wanted to. I listen to that song over and over and I never get tired of it. That's an accomplishment in itself when any band produce a track like that.

To be honest, I didn't know what else The Knack had done besides "My Sharona". If you were a teenager in the late seventies and early eighties, you will recognize some of the other tracks here. My favorites are "Good Girls Don't" and "Can't Put A Price On Love". But all the tracks are good. This CD is well the price, not only for "My Sharona" but to learn more about the band that produced it.

New Wave music review Sorry you didn't get it....
Sorry Peter, but you really didn't get it. I don't know what your personal tastes are, but The Knack is just fine for me. I'm 48, saw The Beatles in '65, and spent my high school years in the Summer of Love in San Francisco. I wish more artists today had an ounce of this band's energy, wit, talent, chutzpah, and just plain damn simple dedication to ROCK N' ROLL.
