New Wave music review IS this still in print? Nice remixes, fans may be baffled
I recall that when this CD came out ther reaction by the fans of Talk Talk was one of horror. And I must admit, as a Talk Talk fan it WAS pretty odd that a band who had been moving away from any sort of dance music (if early hits like "Talk Talk" or "Its My Life" can be classified as dance music, which I think they can) to come out with this.

Of course, the truth was that EMI did the remixes without the band's knowledge and a big rwo ensued after this album's release. Basically the band did not want to pay for remixes they did not approve.

However (!) in the end I find this to be a interesting, well done remix album. There are a lot of nice mixes here, love the Fluke remix for example. One needs to enjoy this album as a mid 90s dance music example and not so much as a Talk Talk album per se.

New Wave music review Bow Wow Wow's best release
This is the music that comes to mind when I think new wave; fast beats with a punk undertone, high energy and fun. It's on my list of top 50 albums of all time (bear in mind I'm a huge new wave fan). I can play this entire album without skipping any tracks. If you like this one, you should also try When the Going Gets Tough by Bow Wow Wow.

New Wave music review Outstanding world music
General Public has been a master of bringing world music into the mainstream. I advise everyone to buy a copy of this one. If you like it, they have a soundtrack by the same name that will knock your socks off. It features several versions of this song played in the most diverse styles that a person could imagine. This band is awesome!

Properly not a one-hit wonder--but a no-hit nobody in the States--Peter Godwin is nonetheless one of the premier examples of the most popular and enduring form of 1980s synth-pop: a nameless, but instantly recognizable flavor that incorporates Bryan Ferry vocals, harsh, sweeping strings, and overdubbed Linn-drum flourishes. Think of Naked Eyes or Talk Talk during the "It's My Life" phase. Think dapper, not goth; dance worthy, but not beat driven. "Images of Heaven" is the prime cut and the closest to a U.S. hit, but the same year (1982) also yielded "Torch Songs for the Heroine," "Emotional Disguise," and "Baby's in the Mountains"--all eminently hit worthy. Also great and included: "Gemini" and "Criminal World" from Godwin's first band, Metro. There are unreleased songs here as well (most are good). For more Godwin, track down the three Metro albums. --Gavin McNett

New Wave music review IMAGES OF HEAVEN TAKES ME THERE, DUDE.
GARY NEUMAN MEETS HOWARD JONES?....WELL, MAYBE. ALL I KNOW IS THAT I'VE BEEN HAUNTED BY MEMORIES OF THE TITLE TRACK FOR 24 YEARS AND NOW I FINALLY GET TO KEEP MY OWN COPY. IT WAS ONLY VERY, VERY RECENTLY THAT I WAS TRULY ABLE TO RELATE TO THE SUBJECT MATTER BECAUSE OF A WILLFUL DECEPTION PERPETRATED AGAINST ME BY A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN. I EVENTUALLY DISCOVERED THAT I WAS IN COMMUNION WITH ONLY A CAREFULLY CRAFTED ILLUSION AND NOT WITH THE TRUE ESSENCE OF THE YOUNG LADY HERSELF.

New Wave music review From master tapes
In addition to the fact that all the tracks are from master tapes, they have also included all the 12" versions, including ours(Razormaid). [Although they should have asked permission first] Anyone collecting Peter Godwin, this is the CD to get! - jw

New Wave music reivew Best Single from the Sensor Album
This song by far is the best of their latest album. It has a realy tight beat to complement an equally tight song structure. It also has one heck of a chorus. This is a very accessable song in the realm of electronic music.

As far as this single is concerned the Radio Edit is a nice version that's only slightly shorter than the album version. Although frankly if you have to choose between the album's version and the radio edit the album version wins. But if you don't have the album (and shame on you because Sensor is a great album) or you're pressed for those precious seconds on that mix CD/Tape then this will do in a pinch.

I have always enjoyed extended mixes of songs and the Extended Version is no different. You really get a chance to soak up the instrumentation and rhythms of this song. Nothing is really added to this mix as far as instruments or crazy beats. Just more of the good stuff found on the original mix.

I have never been a fan of any of the Mellow Trax remixes. The beat feels dated for a club mix and all the magic from the original song is kinda mixed away. Still it's the most unique mix of this CD single. It's not necessarily bad. Just not that good. Telephone Sensor is a nice little instrumental song that I find very endearing. It takes you a little back with some retro synth elements, however the song feels new. A great tune.

The only reason for getting this single would be for the extended version and Telephone Sensor in my opinion. The rest you can do without.

New Wave music review PERFECT!!!- The German Depeche Mode are back!
I didn't even know Camouflage were around anymore, so you can imagine my surprise when I found this at my local record store. It's wonderful!!! It's everything a Depeche Mode song SHOULD be, but better. The remixes are excellent and I can't wait to get the new album, "Sensor," which I will probably have to order from Amazon. If you remember Camouflage from the late 80's/early 90's, or if you just dig Depeche Mode-style music, BUY THIS!
