New Wave music review ASTONISHING NUMAN !!!
113'Wembley Arena Farewell Concert.Extensive tracklist concentrated on the Telekon album.New versions of the older songs in the MORE electronic style that album featured.Hysterical audience is mixed deafeningly loud in the mix.Excellent overall sound, with incredibly heavy bottom, ear slicing upper treble and VERY aggressive midrange.Vocals are more present than on other Numan's live recordings.
I personally liked the LO79 better but this one is overkill !!!!!

New Wave music review the best live album ever
this is a truly amazing live performance by gary numan almost every song is great on this album this was a very expensive
live set for numan and the experiment numan was into is well
heard on this cd. he used a giant stage image wich was extreme
for its time. this is probably the finest works from him.

New Wave music review Cornucopia of Sounds
This is one of the best albums ever produced. It shows the Clash's amazing versatility. The classic song London Calling opens up the album wonderfully putting the listener in a state of awe. It jumps around a bit, but always has the unique Clash style. A great album that all complete collections should include.

New Wave music review KING OF MODERN ROCK-A-BILLY
ROBERT GORDON SOUNDS BETTER (I THINK) THAN MOST ORIGINAL ROCK-A-BILLY ARTISTS. THIS CD IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE. I DON'T KNOW HOW THE BEAR FAMILY GOT THEIR HANDS ON IT, BUT GOD BLESS THEM. THIS CD ALONG WITH THE PREVIOUS THREE FROM BEAR FAMILY WILL GIVE YOU EVERYTHING HE EVER RECORDED. IF YOU LIKE OLD OR NEW ROCK-A-BILLY THEN YOU DEFINITELY HAVE TO OWN ALL FOUR VOLUMES.

New Wave music review Fitting Tribute
Very few artists/songwriters ever have enough pull or respect to warrant a tribute album, the fact that John Hiatt has 3 such albums is true testiment to his guiness.
This is the first of the tributes, and I still think the strongest (grab it while you can). The others - Rolling Into Memphis (2000)and It'll Come To You (2003) are also worthwhile getting.
It is the scope of artists that have covered Hiatt songs that sets this and the other albums apart from the run of the mill tributes. Everyone from Iggy Pop to Rosanne Cash, Neville Brothers to Odetta have covered his songs.
On this particular album the opening track 'Love Gets Strange' is a cracker of a version. The closing track 'Confidence Man' done by Jeff Healey is also a highlight. In between is as good a collestion of songs and artists as you are ever likley to find. Other highlights: 'Where Is the Next One Coming From?', 'Washable Ink', 'Someplace Where Love Can't Find Me' and 'Way We Make a Broken Heart'.

New Wave music review THE ULTIMATE POP SONG!
This excellent 4-track CD single contains the original Love Is A Stranger, to my mind the ultimate pop song. Or alternatively, it is my most favorite song from the synthpop era. The poetic lyrics fit the wistful melody perfectly and those who remember the original video clip, in which Annie Lennox goes through a series of image changes by constantly removing a succession of wigs to reveal a new hairstyle underneath, will also agree that this was one of the most evocative videos ever. In addition, this CD contains the Obsession Mix, a slow, moody and atmospheric 1991 remix of this great song, plus two other classics: Julia from the album 1984 (For The Love Of Big Brother) and the melodic There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart) from the Be Yourself Tonight album. It was the song Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This), the second single from the Sweet Dreams album, that became Eurythmics' first top ten hit. Only upon its second release did Love Is A Stranger become a top 5 hit on both sides of the Atlantic and the rest is history. Read the history of Eurythmics' rise to success in the book Sweet Dreams: The Definitive Biography by Johnny Waller. This CD offers excellent value for money and contains two of their most memorable hits. The track Julia is not bad either, whilst The Obsession Mix is a must have for all devoted fans of Eurythmics.

New Wave music review Blasts The Ska Oh So Nicely...
If you're looking for a group of talented musicians, from all over the ska world (and from as many genres)... contemplate on purchasing this very disc! The title tracks starts it all off, and the ska and reggae just lays itself out before you in vast melodic landscapes. My friend saw em in concert at Oberlin, and they're some of the nicest people she's ever met! If you're looking for third wave, go elsewhere... this is where it all started (well a new era of traditional anyway)

New Wave music review top quality dance trash!
For my money, this is The Flirts best album. Although their huge hit 'Passion' is not here, you get instead the tremendous 'Helpless', 7 minutes of pure fab disco. Any resemblance to Laura Branigan's 'Self Control' is, of course, purely intentional. Bobby O has a habit of adapting his trademark sound to match any passing chart success that grabs his attention, but luckily in this case he copied one that suits the group performing it perfectly, and as a result, "Helpless" is one of the Flirts finest singles. And so what if it's accompanied by 4 or 5 tracks that are exactly the same...Still one of my favourite Bobby O produced albums, though, and the best of the Flirts first three.

New Wave music reivew Great Album
I think this is a really great album which contains some of the Nena's Best Mixes. However, a great mix of the song 'Just a Dream - Megadream Mix' is missing on the compilation. The remix of this song is included in the album 'Nena - Die Band' [Japanese Edition] as bonus track, as well as '99 Red Balloons - Club Mix'. Unfortunately, the compilation could be better if they [Sony Music] really want it.

New Wave music review Review By a Philippine Nena Fan Who Understands German
This Nena compilation cd album is one which I have waited for a very, very long time and I am very happy to know that it is now available. Perhaps my only criticism of the tracks included in this album is that the club mix of "99 Red Balloons" is already very available in the album 99 LUFTBALLONS/FIRST AMERICA/INTERNATIONAL and that the maxi versions of the songs "Gestern Nacht" and "Du kennst die Liebe nicht" could have been included in the tracklist. I am personally very grateful to Sony Music Germany for taking my advice and removing the maxi version of "Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann" and the song "Ein Brief" from the original tracklist, since they are both very available in the Nena cd album FEUER UND FLAMME. I encourage all Nena fans to purchase this extremely valuable cd album, because it provides in a single cd album numerous Nena songs and song versions which have never before been available in any cd album.

I guess that is all for now. Until I hear from any of you again, so long!

Cordially yours,

Glenn

New Wave music review RARITIES en masse!!!
Nena is germanys hottest girl at the moment. Forever young like herself are all her hits and flops combined in this very special compilation. All songs are in the original 12 inch mix and the sound is magnificient!!! Some of these versions were only available through her longtime fans. A special tip from a german fan like me: Im Rausch der Liebe, Jung wie du( Ive looked for it for years), Engel der Nacht(her 86 opus) or du bist berall, a song written for her dying son Christopher. The booklet contains the original wax covers. This package is also for those guys who own her latest best of CD already.
Go ahead and get it as soon as possible because this is a strictly limited album with all very hard to find 12 wax singles.
I would give 10 stars, if I could...

New Wave music reivew times change between me and you
It's strange hearing dance songs with male vocals. On this single I had to see what big name producers Kaycee and Pascal F.E.O.S. were doing. To tell the truth, it's pretty good. The remixes didn't jive with me at first, but they grew on me fast. The F.E.O.S. And Sniper Mode Downbeat Mix (5:13) is definitely my favorite though. There's something video-gamish about it like from a spy/crime game. The bass and beats are awesome, and match Meyn's vocals perfectly. The breakdown during the 3 minute mark is excellent.

New Wave music review flawless!
if this single is any indication of their upcoming album, then it was worth the wait. "Me and You" is Camouflage's best single in years. the radio version(track #1) and f.e.o.s version (track 2) are the best mixes here and actually are the best mixes of this song because there is also a cd2 with more dance versions. but these are the best on cd1. also included on this cd single is a non album track called "Perfect".it is track #4. and quite honestly could have been it's own single, because it is a very strong cong- actually maybe better than "Me and You". my only wish would be to have Camouflage release their album in the USA so that more people would be exposed to their music. One thing that's for sure--Marcus Meyn (the lead singer)--has, without a doubt, the [nicest] male voice I have ever heard. And that's a fact.
