New Wave music review This gets DAILY use!!!
I was given a copy of the tape a few years back to review it for a local bookstore. I recently bought the CD. I have used it to help me sleep as well as for meditation. There is something about the music that sweeps me away to a very calm place even in the midst of chaos.

I *HIGHLY* recommend this CD. I have given it as gifts to several friends.

New Wave music review Be a part of cool-pop revival (? )
Among many forgotton cool bands in '80's, Dislocation Dance is the one that you should dig up if you are a real fun of "cool" pop music. Although more than a decade passed since the album was originally released, their well-crafted jazzy-and-a-bit-snobby (a kind of atmosphere you'll find in '60's French pop music, I suppose) cool-pop songs are still fresh and inspiring. Vinyl Japan was kind and sophisticated enough to re-issue one of their masterpieces which would easily make other fake "pop" artists tasteless. (Their other album called "Music, Music, Music" has been also reissued by Vinyl Japan.) Try this album if you are bored with a current sell-out pop music.

New Wave music review A very fun album
Missing Links is full of rare and remixed songs spanning their career. Lots of good stuff here, from Sinking Island (a live favorite) to an instrumental dub mix or Reach the Beach - this is a must have for any Fixx fan. Included are great liner notes about the making of each song and the meaning to the band.

New Wave music review Awesome but reject the shamanism
I love Peter Kater and most of his music without occult or shaman titles in them, because the truth is, it is part of a cult thinking and spiritual darkness. I studied it for years as I did other cults and I know people firsthand who were involved with the illuminated cult and "ism. Otherwise he has an excellent talent and beautiful spirit in music and melodic creation on the piano and you cannot deny that he has a God-given gift, if and when he ever acknowledges that is truly where it comes from.

New Wave music review A great collection of classics!
I found this CD to be a great mix of music that covers the majority of the great 80's scene. I first initially purchased it for a few songs, but later came to realize some of the gems from my childhood were contained within. The disc opens with Mr. Mister who are as 80's as they come. "Broken Wings" is a good way to start off the disc. Paul Young's classic "Everytime You Go Away" soon follows suit, only to be joined by the likes of Starship, who continue to impress through their different incantations. The Alan Parsons Project is also included within and only helps to add to things. The one-hit wonder one of "Waiting For A Star To Fall" is one of the final songs, and can't help but wonder what if the writers behind this song passed it on to Whitney Houston, like they did with a couple of others? Bonnie Tyler, Air Supply and Spandau Ballet really help to make this disc worth it. But of all that is on it, my fav would have to be The Moody Blues selection. These are rockers who have passed the test of time, and are still going strong to this day. I absoultely love this song, and I think the only other place you'll find a CD like is in "Your Wildest Dreams."

New Wave music reivew Not that great
If you are looking for a good recording of Chopin classics, Roy Eatons Meditative Chopin will probably not satisfy you. He does not have very good command of his tones (especially in the e minor prelude, where every note seems to oscilate betwwen mezzo-piano and forte), distorts the rhythm with way too much rubato, and doesn't strike notes at the same time (he does it to be expressive, but in his case it is not a technique but a mannerism developed by years of poor practice). His rendition of the D-flat major nocturne is okay, and the music is relaxing, but as a classically trained pianist I recommend spending 10 bucks on something better.

New Wave music review Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!
I have been listening to this CD all day at the broadcast.com site and simply have to buy it. Not being a musician, I can't comment on its technical brilliance or on Roy Eaton's interpretive skills, but I can assure you it is soft, beautiful, and soothing in its effect. The perfect music for contemplative times or as background in your office.
