T.V.TASTICTHIS IS THE ORIGINALLY UNRELEASED LP FROM CHEAP,T.V.'S BAND FALLING BETWEEN THE EXPLORERS AND HIS NOW SOLO CAREER.TO LISTEN TO IT BRINGS A SHIVER TO MY SPINE AND A TAP TO MY TOE,TRANSPORTING ME BACK TO THE MANY VENUES,LARGE AND SMALL ,FULL AND MOSTLY EMPTY AROUND WHICH I FOLLOWED THIS BAND ABOUT THE U.K. IN THE SHORT TIME THEY WERE TOGETHER.PERFECT POP PUNK AND A TRUE RENDITION OF THE LORDS PRAYER,(ORIGINALLY WRITTEN FOR AND THEN RUINED BY LORDS OF THE NEW CHURCH(STIV BATORS R.I.P.)) I CAME,I SAW,I DANCED GENERALLY BY MYSELF BUT THEY WERE SUPERB THEN AND THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN ATTEMPT TO CAPTURE SOME IDEA OF MY FEELINGS NOW IS TO BUY THIS CD.PUNK ROCK WAS ALWAYS MEANT TO BE LIKE THIS,IDEAS AND IDEOLOGY REGARDLESS OF THE MEDIUM. LISTEN TO THE LYRICS AND IF IT STIRS YOU TO,THEN DANCE, I DID.

A Great Way To Own Some Essential New Wave Hits!Although not long, this CD comprises some very notable New Wave hits from the early 80's.
Tracks such as Gary Numan's "Cars", The Buggles "Video Killed the Radio Star", Soft Cell's "Tainted Love", and the underrated Romeo Void's "Never Say Never" are usually not found together on many other 80's compilations. Add those together with Thomas Dolby, Berlin, ABC, and Naked Eyes and you have an excellent CD that'll transport you back to the beginnings of electronic synth-pop.

great 80's songs...I love all of the songs on this CD...there are no fillers on here. Although I hadn't heard some of these songs before, I found they all fitted in well with each other. I would definately reccomend this album, although it could be longer...

THOSE WONDERFUL 80'SListening to the dozen tunes on this CD reminds me of how much I miss the songs of the 70s and 80s. This eclectic blend shows what's missing from today's so-called "pop" music. There is no diversity out there; everything sounds the same. Just listen to this CD: it goes from the "Whip It" by Devo to "All Out of Love" by Air Supply; "Hot Rod Hearts" by Robbie Dupree to "The Tide is High" by Blondie; "Cars" by Gary Numan to Ambrosia's "You're the Only Woman." It's a good collection, and represents that lost era of listenable and different music.

Average review score:

More Greats From 1983Rock On's second collection of songs from 1983 matches the first with its great combination of superstars and one hit wonders. Bad boy rocker Billy Idol opens the album up with the evil "White Wedding" and The Eurythmics follow with their lone number one hit, the haunting "Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)". MTV favorites Duran Duran provide the Far East inspired "Union Of The Snake". Ska rockers Madness where a major chart force in their native England, but the ultra catchy "Our House" was their only hit in the US. The same goes for Spandau Ballet whose smooth and lush ballad "True" was their only hit. Culture Club's "Time (Clock Of The Heart) shows off the band's r&b influences while The Stray Cats retro rock shines on the driving "(She's) Sexy & 17". Donna Summer sheds her disco skin on the hard edged, rock influenced "She Works Hard For The Money" and The Greg Kihn Band closes things out with the rocking number two smash "Jeopardy".

Get this series while it's still available...Oglio records was one of the early labels to bring us hard to find new wave 12" singles on compilations, and few labels have managed to keep up with it. Get them before sellers start charging ridiculous prices for them. Only qualm about this volume is, if they were going to put a Bollock Bros song on-it should have been HORROR MOVIES!!!! Track times:
1. music for boys (7:08)
2. X ray eyes (4:24)
3. Computer games (4:42)

A must for New Wave fansI have volumes 1-6 of this series and I love them all. Richard Blade is a popular DJ at KROQ in Los Angeles. He used to play songs like these during his Flashback Lunch. Hope he still does.

Passionate, raw and very in the moment.A collection of inspired performances culled from various locations dating back to 1994 & 1996, captured on DAT and assembled here for album format, released in 1998. Roadrage demonstrates time and time again Warren's deep connection the music he's creating in the moment. Just listen to the track Suddenly Spring here (played on acoustic), it sounds as if it was completely composed but it wasn't, totally improvised for the show VH-1. His rendition of Zappa's Transylvania Boogie is fantastic. In all of the selections here he is so in-the-zone. His ability to manipulated tones on the fly while he solos to build these beautiful energetic sound sculptures is breathtaking. The music here goes through various different feels and moods also so it doesn't get dull. If you liked Warren's Thanks to Frank disc, then you should check this one out too; it makes a good companion.
Nothing Ordinary about Ordinary WorldMost people will know Warren for his work with Duran Duran. It's a well known fact that he was responsible for writing Ordinary World, and on this album you will find Ordinary World in its true glory. The guitars and the rhythm section make it one of the most amazing pieces of music ever written. You're not a Duran Duran fan until you've heard this song the way it's meant to be played.
Other great tracks include Suddenly Spring, which will baffle even the best guitar players, Willie the Pimp and Transylvanian Boogie, some of Warren's work from Zappa times and some of his more recent offerings. Buy and enjoy this record!
