Ska music review Simply Great!!!
You'll love this fantastic album, a delicious performance, you will fly away to a different world...

Ska music review The Truly Memorable Jackie Opel
Why isn't Jackie Opel a well known icon? The quality of the voice stands out and even where he is reinterpreting well known songs he manages to bring something new to them. I never thought I'd hear a better voice than Jackie Wilson but Opel is just about there.

He's a fabulous and moving ballad singer and the dance tracks are sung with an intensity I've rarely heard on record. He must have been memorably as a live performer. Unreservedly recommended.

Ska music review Jackie Opel is a neglected genius
Jackie Opel was born Dalton Bishop in 1938 in Bridgetown, Barbados. He is best known now for his contibution to the early years of Ska Music in Jamaica. As sometime singer and arranger with the Skatalites his contribution has been consistently unvalued.

As a solo singer and songwriter he produced classic records in differing styles. In my opinion as a deep soul singer he is up there with the best and this album relesed after his death in a car accident in 1970 has some fantastic ballads sung most beautifully by someone with the range of Jackie Wilson.

The album also features two Jackie Wilson originals electrically sung in 'spouge beat' attributed as being first used by Opel and very popular in the Caribbean in the early 70's

jackie Opel sounds so good that it makes me quite emotional. If you want to know more an article will appear on him in October in 'Voices From The Shadows' a specialist magazine from near Hull in the North of England. Its on the net.

Ska music review MOTOR CITY SKA-CORE!!!!!!
This album is just sweet. That's all I can say. So far they have released 4 albums. This one, skalleluia!, fight of my life, and skalleluia too! I can't choose which one is my favorite but if I had to it would be a toss up between this one and fight of my life. Those 2 are the most ska sounding out of their 4 CD's. It has a little variety. It mostly ranges from plain ska to ska/punk and even a little reggae but about 90% of this is ska-core. Buy this if you're a ska fan or an insyderz fan and haven't gotten this yet.

Ska music review What a great CD
This CD is so amazing. This CD introduced me to Ska. It was my first Ska CD. It was worth it very much so. I love it so much. The Insyderz know how to worship god and have fun doing it. They have gotta be one of the best Christian Ska bands out there. If you like these guys then Check out the Supertones and Five Iron Frenzy. Two otehr very good Christian Ska bands.

Ska music review Wow
Wow these guys are really thinking ahead for their albums. Oh well, the Insyderz are awesome and I this disc won't disappoint.

Ska music reivew Sit back and look at this.
I picked up this CD on a whim, without knowing anything about it. Turns out it's a ska album. And a very good ska album, at that. Very well played and entertaining, if you like ska. Over half the tracks here are instrumentals. There is an unlisted bonus track, which is about half-a-minute of what sounds like the band just thrashing away at their instruments. Ska fans should enjoy this album.

Ska music review LGB is a must for any ska fan
This album is the best yet from LGB. The instrumentals are outrageously smooth and the horns are frantic and tight. Trust LGB to get you on your feet, and make you dance some more with this one.

Ska music review This CD is so darn cool!!!!
Lets Go Bowling knows how rock. This cd is just plain cool. These guys know how to create a solid groove on songs like sultans cross and spy market, and songs like hot buttered and uncomfortable sidekick just plain rock. A thing thats great about this cd too is these guys really know how to play their instruments. The basslines and solos are so orginal and inventive that this cd has a near permanent residence in my cd player.

Ska music review Best Ska Album of the 90's
This is the best Ska CD I have ever heard. Full of energy, humor, and catchy raw ska with a punk sensibility. This band influenced every ska band that I know in the U.S. Check them out!!!

Ska music review This CD is a must have for Ska fans.
This CD is amazing, I can't tell you how long I have been waiting for this. Early OC Ska at it's finest. A must buy for any fans of Reel Big Fish, Aquabats, Save Ferris, Goldfinger, etc. This CD captures the full history of the original Ska rebels known as the Nuckle Brothers. There shows were insane, complete chaos with franticly high energy! This CD has early tracks, live tracks and newer studio tracks, including unreleased songs. Features members of RBF, Aquabats, Save Ferris, Six Feet Deep, Skandals, Imperials, etc. Old school OC style.

Ska music review Nuckle Bros. Rock!
The Nuckle Bros. are truly the fathers of third wave ska. Consisting of members from current ska bands, (i.e. reel big fish, save ferris) the Brothers bring you upbeat poppy catchy punky ska with great horn licks and funny lyrics. Pick this one up!

Ska music review They did it again!
Another great album from Deals Gone Bad! The distinct style of DGB's horns and the raspy, pirate-like vocals that made the Large and In Charge great are here again. As good as, if not better than their previous album.

Ska music review Best band in Chicago
Anyone into reggae, rocksteady or ska should buy this album DGB are the best band in Chicago.

Ska music review WOW
This CD rocks..... unbelievable ska sound..... I would reccommend it to ANYONE with an interest in ska!

I bought this cd before may because my friend went to spain and bought it for me i knew this band for along time but i didn't had any original cds well they are fantastic this is mostly ska and i can listen some punk or hxc on them but not alternative...
I would like to remark that comes with videoclips and the lyrics in spanish and french. If you know spanish it ll be even better because they have really good lyrics with contents and all.
well thats all, if ur going to buy this cd buy also the other one here "El vals del obrero" because you are going to need more of them.

Ska music review Ska-P's Best Album Yet. Rock-En-Espanol
Well, I bought this album, and you know what? It's awesome. It's been a while since I've enjoyed listening to an entire album - over and over again.

For those of you who don't know Ska-P, It's an alternative rock band from Spain with a terrific sound that is hard to categorize. It's a combination of rock, ska, alternative, punk and reggae. Their music is solid and catchy. These guys sound like a mix of The Clash, Green Day, Maldita Vecindad, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs (Argentinian Rock, Ska, Samba Band), but with a political incorrect or correct (you decide) message and rebellious attitude.

This album is terrific, I think it's there best work yet. These guys kicked it up a notch and left many bands behind. I think they would have gotten more radio air play by now, if it were'nt for the strong explicit language, but then again that what makes it this album the more interesting. As for me, I can't stop listening to this album.

At least three U.S. record companies issued ska albums in the mid-1960s; despite this compilation's attempt to push the Jamaican proto-reggae style as the sound of an emerging stateside dance craze, only Smash Records had much success with it at the time, thanks to Millie Small's hit single "My Boy Lollipop." The Real Jamaica's biggest name is a very young Jimmy Cliff, but the likes of Winston Samuel and Lord Creator lay down fairly peppy tracks alongside his. --Rickey Wright

Ska music review definitely one of the BEST !!!
If you're a big Ska fan, this is definitely one of the best "classic" Jamaican Ska compilation! I purchased a copy of this '93 release seven years ago, & bought another copy of it's re-release (2001) digitally remastered version with two extra tracks, a year ago.
This album never fails to make me wanna bop everytime I play it. If you don't have a copy yet, go get one now, and start 'skanking' to one of the best classic Ska album. SKA SKA SKA!

Ska music review Grooving all night long!
The songs on the CD were great to listen and dance to. I played the whole CD without skipping any songs. This is the best compilation of ska ever!

Ska music review The REAL ska!
A great cd! This was my introduction to the first wave of ska (the real ska) some years ago and i still think is one of the best compilations i've heard. Great classics such as Lord Creator, the Techniques and Jimmy Cliff. It has some tracks you wont find anywhere else so BUY IT!!
