Ska music review The Complete good stuff from D.D.
This CD contains the COMPLETE good stuff that Desmond Dekker recorded. While most CD's of his work contain the wonderful 'Israelites," It Mek," and "OO7 Shanty Town." This is the only one that I know of that actualy includes the legendary "Sabotage" which was VERY popular in JA and the UK in it's day, but nearly impossible to find now. An added treat for DD fans is the beautiful medley "Live and Learn." Sort of a "greatest hits" collection in one tune. Desmond's heartfelt imitation of Louis Armstrong that ends that particular tune is worth the price of admission alone! Satch would have loved it and you will also.

Ska music review look no further
I just found, bought, and listened to, this amazing Dekker compilation.

THIS IS THE ONLY DEKKER COMPILATION YOU WILL NEED!!!!

ALL of his hits are included in this double disc collection, lovingly put together by Trojan, and also offers a great 8 page booklet with good information and photos.

Stop reading this and get to buying this disc. ALL the hits are there..ALL of them..

A classic compilation.

Ska music review The REAL ska
This is a fabulous CD of early ska. It is a soundtrack but it stands on its own. If you like Madness, the English Beat, and No Doubt you owe it to yourself to check out classics from the greats, like Bob Marley (I believe this track is his first ever), Desmond Dekker, Laurel Aitken, etc. Also great for winter listening in the frozen North, makes you feel warm all over.

Ska music review Judge Not by Bob Marley is the Best song i have ever heard
its true, i have never heard a better song, though i havent purchased this exact compalation i had another with that same song on it, i wish i could buy a Marley CD with that song on it insteadof a compilation.

Ska music review No Doubt About It..........
The sad "Simple Kind of Life" never sounded so sweet as it does on the acoustic version on this single. Gwen Stefani's breathy singing gives you chills instantly. The slightly dark "Beauty Contest" comes through much like a hybrid of what sounds like "Marry Me" and some missing lyrics from a possibly early edition of "Magic's in the Makeup", with some beautiful and eerie vocalizing. Be sure to listen to the last couple of seconds for a cute little surprise. Trust me it'll bring a smile to your face. All in all, a perfect buy for any No Doubt fan, or even a fan of enhanced cd's (the digital clarity is perfect in the cd-rom music video). Buy this NOW, and you'll have no doubts about it.

Ska music review Be Happy Now
This disc is one of the best tracks on the Return of Staurn album, plus you also get some unreleased stuff! The video is awesome as well! A great buy for a long time No Doubt or a new one! Any No Doubt fan would be happy to have this in their collection!

Ska music review This is Very good
If your bored with your same old ska albums, I recommend this. Its Fresh and different. Its still ska, but they manage to blend punk, ska, reggae, swing, jazz and a few more styles. Id buy this in a second....

Ska music review Cleaver Band Name, Good Ska Too!
A must have for any fan of ska. Lead singer sounds a little like the ladies from DHC; nevertheless, the album is a wise choice.

Ska music review A marvel!
Among the true innovators of popular music and one of the first artists to fuse ska and fatness while embracing the questions that drive us all, and sticking your tongue out as well.

Ska music review Simply a masterpeice
Just because the lead singer Buster Bloodvessel is a fat skinhead with a big tongue that he sticks out a lot and that they do songs about being fat and liking ska and rnb dont mean theyre not as intellectual as Radiohead or Sonic Youth. The Manners paint their visions of cats, monsters, woolly textures etc from a far richer palette. The brass section on this peice is also superb. If John Coltrane was a skinhead into ska he would have begged to join Bad Manners.Buster Bloodvessel is the ska Biggy Smalls except unlike that fat naughty legend this one still has blood pumping through him.Mind you he has a similiar sense of fun but not quite as many tunes about crack.Ska n B is Van Goff for the ear.

Ska music review GREAT ANGLO SKA
Although authentic jamaican ska is preferred, this album is worth picking up because of the humor, and quality tunes the late, great Judge Dread preforms. He was a great musician and one of the few who understood what ska is(I'll give you a hint: real ska ain't reel big fish)

Ska music review The King Of Rudeness at his best
Any fan of Judge Dredd, humor, or reggae, should dig this tasty album. It has most of his best songs. With 18 tracks in all, is the best Judge Dredd CD for people who are interested in him, but dont' know what to get. Still makes me laugh and smile after a few years of listening! Extremely Recommended!

Ska music review Tremendously infectious
Carlos Malcom was one of the biggest ska stars of the early-mid '60's, and he's still going today. This cd represents the best of his '60's work, and it's absolutely necessary for even casual fans of the genre.

Ska music review Skamania indeed!
I picked this up at my local indie record store, who was featuring it on their listening booth. I'd never heard of Carlos Malcolm and still have no idea who he is or when these were recorded (sometime in the early 60's I think...the liner notes do leave a bit to be desired). This is just plain old great ska, and contains some of the best horn-playing I've ever heard on any ska recordings. If you like early authentic ska, this is a must!

Ska music review The Magna cum Lauda of collage for ska cds.
This is a cd that I spent months looking for after loseing it. It has some real great songs with some excellent bands making the noise. It's a party in dicus form.

Ska music review great ska compilation
Great songs by some really great bands like the Pietasters, Mephiskapheles, and the Toasters among many more. I would strongly recommend this cd to anyone who likes ska. This is mostly upbeat ska that is a lot of fun to listen to. So buy it! Now!

Ska music review All the things we love...
This is THE best Ska comp out there. It'll make you remember why you listen to Ska; good music, skankin' and booze! This is the top shelf. The Pietasters doing 'gin and tonic' is a must for those post-relationship blues. The Skoidats' track 'last night' proves that Oi! and Ska go great together, if you've never heard of em check em out. This comp made me want to get up and dance and there's not a single weak track. If you're going to own a comp this and Give em the Boot vol 1 are the two I would suggest. A must have!

Ska music review Oh Boy Oh Boy. Carnival Time everyday in your car!
Boy, when Byron comes to town you know you gonna need a new pair of shoes when he leaves. This collection makes me remember carnival time the best. You've got to have this. Expecially nowadays when everybody's looking back to the time when "Dance was nice".

Ska music review Take your mind to the Islands
I first heard this album last year when we visited the Bahamas. The DJ played it every day and even if you didn't "want" to like this album, you'd be dancing and singing it to yourself after hearing it for 3 days. Dr. Cassandra is one the most infectious songs that I've ever heard as are most of the other songs on this album. Take it to the office, and take your mind on vacation.
