IncredibleI listen to this CD every day!!! I can't get over how they remind me of my two favorite bands. RHCP and Mr. Bungle. Track 6 has Mr. Bungle written all over it, while Track 5 has a combo of the two bands. It's just awesome. The bass playing is phenominal and the singing is so unduplicatable. I want more!!! LOL!!!

Best EP ever. Thats right I said ever.A mixture of Punk/ska/harcore. The Code's new ep as better songs and a better sound than Alert, Aware, involved. Even though there's only four songs, I highly recommend it to fand of Suicide machines, operation Ivy and Anti-flag.
best code yetThis new ep is amazing. The op-ivy cover is pure genious, and you'll be singing along to the tunes for days

One of the best earlier ska bandsA great band. This is a must-have CD for any ska lover, regardless of what kind of ska you like. Also, even if you have no real appreciation for that which is ska, at least listen to this album. You might just enjoy it.
While the horns in some later, 3rd wave ska albums, can distract from the ska beat, and even be somewhat bothersome at times, the Loafers manage to integrate them beautifully. Everything flows well in this album. The beat is fast, but not so overly caffenated that it just becomes a blur of boredom.
If you like this band you may want to try such bands as the Specials, the Selecter, Madness, Bim Skala Bim, the Scofflaws, and the Slackers. As for my favorite bands overall, I like MU330, some Skankin' Pickle, Mad Caddies, Spring-Heeled Jack, Streetlight Manifesto, Catch 22, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Operation Ivy, Slapstick, Against all Authority, Less Than Jake, (some) Reel Big Fish, Big D and the Kid's Table, Buck-o-nine, the Pietasters, the Smooths, the Skunks, the Forces of Evil and others as well and those mentioned above.
It's too bad that (almost) no one listens to ska anymore. The Loafers, a somewhat underappreciated band from the 80s, can blow the socks off any of the "popular" music you can hear on the radio today. At least in my opinion...others may, and probably will, differ. For those Rude Boys/Girls still skanking, keep it up! :)

COLLECTION - THE LOAFERS"Although the Loafers meant little in their day, at least in the U.S., at home in Britain they were one in a number of groups - alongside the likes of Maroon Town and the Hot Knives - who were breathing new life into the old 2 Tone sound. In 1988, the group, except original singer Jim Robinson, was still all at school. But that didn't stop them from impressing their elders and recording their CITY SKANKING. Robinson was swiftly replaced by Tony Finn, and a pair of 12" singles duly followed ("Living in a Suitcase" and "The Undertaker"), with CONTAGIOUS, their second album, arriving in the summer of 1989. By the next year, the band had folded, with keyboardist Sean Flowerdew and Finn enlisting as touring members of the Special Beat. The Collection's liner notes, written by Cult labelhead Mark Brenner, enthusiastically tells their tale. What would have been even more helpful is if they included a discography or at least elucidated where each of the tracks came from. Thankfully, the writing credits help put the tracks in some perspective. The set appears to run chronologically, with early tracks taken from their debut album, then it's on to the singles and finally their second full-length. The vocals may change, but the group's sound remained very much the same, a joyous mix of 2 Tone and Brit rock. The Specials may have been the group's main inspiration, but they have a much cheerier sound than their heroes. No matter how hard they rock, virtually all these tracks have a bright and breezy style, and even "Melancholy Sally" will have to lose her frown. It meshes perfectly with the group's upbeat view, where even "Bad News" is met by a vivacious backing and "The Undertaker," freak that he is, is still celebrated. Although not all the songs have the immediate hooks of their elder brethren, the musicianship is surprisingly superb throughout - surprising, because the bandmembers were all in their mid-teens; you'd never know it from Denise Butler's smoking sax solos, drummer Nass Bouzida's superb beats, or Flowerdew's phenomenal playing. The entire band amazes, and while the Loafers themselves dissolved, the members continue to make their mark in contemporary bands. If you can find their records, grab them; in the meantime, this is the perfect introduction to what was one of the hottest bands of the late '80s!"

Outstanding, terrific, amazing, ......"Como estao voces?" is a much better CD than the last two releases of Os Titas ("As Dez Mais" 2000 and "A melhor banda de todos os tempos da ultima semana" 2002). Here, the TITANS showed us a beautiful CD: they combine more elaborated songs, with the distinctitve voices of Branco Mello, Sergio Britto and Paulo Miklos, the guitar of Tony Bellotto and the powerful influence of Liminha. However, the quality of Nando Reis is lacking. The brazilian edition includes also an interactive track where you can see some moments of composition, recording and pictures.
I highlight two nice songs: 'Provas de amor' and 'enquanto houver sol'. Then, appear other songs of high quality: 'Voce e minha', 'eu nao sou um bom lugar' and 'pra voce ficar'. Finally, the enjoyable 'vou duvidar', 'Gina superstar' and 'KGB'.
This is with no doubt a master piece of music. You deserve to have it in your collection!
