BrilliantWhile the comparisons to The Jam, and the Attractions are obvious, this album is great on its own merits. Especially noted in the superb guitar work of Fred Fight. This guitarist really holds the songs together and makes each song an artistic gem. Truly tragic that this band didnt make the big time. They were BRILLIANT!
great uplifting modern emomodWHILst most mod thinking americans point to bands such as THE GAIN when talking of new MOD bands the Action League slip through quite unnoticed. Mixing a splash of emo with some light punk & some very welcome JAM riffs The Action League add a great deal of freshness to a stagnant MOD scene that has been found wanting ever since the great CHISEL decided to call it a day. Im not saying this is the best example of a mod band but in todays (modless) world you have to be grateful for such bands, for examples of great great MOD bands check out THE CHORDS, PURPLE HEARTS & THE CIRCLES

I am Happy to Listen to the Past! This is one of the records I heard during my university days in the mid-seventies. As a DJ, I had borrowed it for a disco party, the owner took it away and I never had the opportunity of listening to it and even buying it. I had visited the USA in 1987 and had hoped to find it along with others I miss, but I couldn't. Hence my sincerest thanks to Amazon for making this to happen. It's sentimental, R&B rythms make it a must have album for me and my archives, for posterity sake!

One Of The Best You Can BuyWitty and fun, any Uninvited album is a treat. 'It's All Good' is no exception. Every track is a gem. The Uninvited have a unique view of the world, to say the least! Listen to JT sing about how his lover would respect him if only he were an astronaut. Or hear about his trials with a model who isn't quite up to snuff (they watch her thighs, I watch her eyes, she pukes up a lunch of curly fries). The Uninvited play with a variety of styles, 'Love Bus' is dance, 'Bulletproof' is metal, all the while they retain they unique sound. Although the Uninvited are primarily a loud raucous band, they also produce excellent introspective songs like the title track. They are also excellent in concert, check out their website at uninvited.com for shows (they also have four other cds not available here), see them once and get hooked. I did.

We LOVE BOB!!We bought the cd for the song Homeschool Girl and my five daughters and I have so much enjoyed the whole cd! They are ALL homeschool girls!!!!
Great Fun!B.O.B.'s (Bunch of Believer's) first effort is great fun and great music. If you like Christian Ska, you should love this album. Since I first purchased it I find myself playing it again and again. Especially fun and catchy are "Mission Trip to Mexico", "Pastor Dancing", and the title track. On the other hand, their cover of the NewsBoy's classic "I'm Not Ashamed" and, especially, the statement of faith "What I Believe" are moving and memorable. I have committed "What I Believe" to memory and its infectious heavy guitar chords combined with it's meaningful message speak to me. All in all a great debut.

A great addition for your library! This box set came to me as a birthday gift from my girlfriend. It's great for long trips and you'll surely recognize the classics that so many have since covered. The set itself presents a history of Ska in Jamaica. The experience moves through the Bob Marley and Desmond Dekker years on up to the more modern dancehall sounds that have influenced the "Sound Clash" of the 90's.

Nearly PerfectCould the Slackers be the most talented band recording today? Perhaps. This politically charged CD contains 5 songs, 4 of which are exceptional and one is simply average (although average for the Slackers is still probably better than 95% of the rest of the music being made out there). The title track, International War Criminal, somehow finds its way to miss the mark. The song (reminiscent of Age of the Insects) has rather bland lyrics by Vic's usual standards---international war criminal, information is minimal--- They seem to trying to make a point rather than just good music. The Slackers have a way infusing politics into their music in the most subtle of ways; they seemed to have lost their way on this one track. The politics came first and the music came second, which is their right (being the artist and all).
Rider would have to be my favorite of the disc, the organ/piano is beautiful.
Propaganda is chunky ska song that is very catchy
Crazy is smooth Rock Steady type song featuring Glen Pine and Q-Maxx on vocals with Vic
Keep it Simple is my second favorite song will playing over and over in your head a soon as you are finished listening to it.
Regardless of your political stance this album is worth a listen. In my opinion the Slackers are have a balanced political view (although this album is clearly anti Bush). On the album Red Light (released during the Clinton administration) they had song called "I Still Love You" which again questioned the direction the country is headed.
Anyway this album stands on its own outside the politics and you would de doing yourself a disservice if you didn't pick up a copy today.

Another winnerWhat boggles my mind is the Slackers' apparent inability to write a bad song, and this EP continues in that tradition.
The low song count is a bummer, but if you are a huge Slackers fan, get this. A response to the despicable politics of recent times, these songs are tighter and catchier than most of Close My Eyes. Vic continues to prove himself as a brilliant songwriter (after buying this, go buy Alive at the Ladybug House) and the rest of the guys prove themselves the best damn ska band in recent history. 'Rider' is the unexpected highlight of the EP, with haunting lyrics half-whispered over the most infectious rhythm this side of 'Run Away'.
If you are new to the Slackers, go buy the Question. It's a lengthier, better introduction to their music. But when the full length that features these songs comes out, buy that too. If these songs are any indication, the next Slackers album is going to be astounding.

Question the politics all you want...But you can't deny this is one band whose music keeps getting better with every release. Vic's vocals sound better than ever, lyrics are better-written than ever (though some might disagree with their sentiment), and everyone else plays the hell out of their instruments on every song. You have your swing (Keep It Simple), slower rocksteady/reggae (the first two), and even one with a more rock-ish vibe (the title track). My only complaint is Marq doesn't get to take the lead on vocals much at all, but hell, it's only a 5-song EP.
As a Slackers completist like myself, this is essential. If you're new to the band, there's no better place to start. Oh yeah, and go see them live as soon as possible.
