Ska music review Great Representative of Drummond's work
Don Drummond was a brilliant trombonist who is well-remembered in Jamaica, but little-known outside of that Island exceptm for hardcore ska and reggae fans. His life and death , growing up from abject poverty to a star trombonist and dying in a mental institution in 1969, is the stuff of movies. But the music is the thing here. "Cool Smoke," Feeling Fine" and "Occupation" are fine tunes that will keep you humming all day long, but Drummond's materpiece was "Eastern Standard Time," a favorite of Jamaican music fans that will also become one of your favorites once you hear it. Only minor complaint is that the driving "Man In the Street" (which would be perfect for a marching band) and "Marcus Junior" are not included here.

Ska music review Just Like That - Review
This CD is good. The quality suprised me much so, because this was released in 1980. I actually just saw Toots in Boston a few weeks ago, and it was amazing. If you are a fan of any of Toots music, I highly recommend to get this one, and all the rest.

Ska music review organ of rhythm and harmony
This Cd by Jackie was a great addition for me for reggae jazz. The songs he plays that are instrumental brings melody and rhythm as one with keyboard and organ sounds that accent the bass, guitar and percussion sounds. It is music that is very meditative as well as reflective and with over an hour of music to enjoy a cd that I hope all will come to enjoy as much as I have enjoyed. Something recommended for time to come as a collection worth having.

    Ska music review Jamaican Funk
Forget about your only reggae cd Bob Marley "Legends" and give a listen to Jackie Mittoo. With a wicked organ and killer jazz beats, Jackie makes you feel like you just stepped out of the plane into a sunny day in Jamaica. This is a cd that you can throw in and blaze to for about 8 hours. It reminds you of the funky background music in Scooby Doo. If you haven't listened to Jackie Mittoo, you haven't heard the style of Jamaica my friend.

For those of you who are interested in ska, and when I say ska I do mean ska, non of that ska punk junk, this is the album for you. It has the awesome sound and beat that the specials are known for, while desmond dekker, as always provides some of his greatest vocals. Purchase this album, trust me, you will be far from dissapointed.

One of Desmond Dekker's many great albums. His early ska/reggae sound is so unique and captivating. This album is a must have for anyone interested in the origins of ska or reggae.

Ska music review Desmond and The Specials wear the crown
Two world-class Ska acts combine to create one of the best two-tone records of all time. Heavy on the reggae, this combo keeps the tradition alive.

It's all too easy to get caught up in the beat and sing along. Desmond and the Aces teaming up with legendary band The Specials to create an incredible record. Reggae, Ska, Two-Tone; It's all here, and it's all good. 100% Rude, and 100% Good.

    Ska music review great album
"King Ska" is a great 2-tone album by a band that deserves more attention then they get. If you're into European ska, this is the cd for you.

Ska music review One of the Best Two-tone ska cd's you'll find
This cd is great, I'd highly recommend it to any ska fan out there. Stay Rude, Stay Rebel and King Kong both display the musicality of this group. If you're into ska or are a band geek, definitely pick up this cd.
