Ska music review Great Comp.
WOW! A perfect mix of Oi! punk and Ska. I feel these bands have a better sound live then they do in the studio, and this album shows that pefectly. If ya like any of the bands on it, buy it, you will not be dissapointed.

Ska music review Unusual, Creative, Memorable!
I think this is the best of the Bim cds although different from their norm. It is slower, more melodic, haunting, very opposite to the style on 'Universal'.

Here are the tracks on this one:

Line to You, Set me UP, Run Joe, In This House, Rain and Pour, Burning Underground, Sequoia, Rain, Edge of a Knife, Murky Water, Skaloop, Dub Mistake, and Three Legged Dub

Info on the cd liner notes tells that this cd spans 10 yrs of recording history. "It includes seven never before released tracks, two remixes by world-renowned dub wizard, Mad Professor, three rare compilation tracks, and one B-side." They add that the same five core band members are on every track. Vinny (Vince Nobile) is just amazing on the trombone and vocals! I think my favorite is "Burning Underground" which is about mineshaft fires, but has the strangest most haunting tunes in it. We also love "Run Joe".

This is one of our favorite and most listened to cds in a large eclectic music collection. If you like Ska, check out this one!

Ska music review NYC SKA IS GREATEST.
Cannot believe that there has passed almost a decade since the release of "Open Season," and it is still at par with any Ska production of 2006. This CD is simply brilliant. Among all steller tracks, my favorite is "Lieutenant." This song itself worths checking this cd out, it has every vibe that NYC ska offers, from the killer Ruggiero's organ to the smoother Django's voice, not to mention the chilling Hillyard's tenor. If you never discovered the beauty of Lieutenant, better pick this CD up! NYC SKA is the best.

Ska music review A CLASSIC IN BOTH SKA AND MUSIC
It's hard to sum up all the accolades I'd like to splurge out; to be perfectly blunt, this album (as well as their follow-up, Back With a New Batch) is one that defines modern (and even traditional) ska and proves that even in the bland banality of the '90s, originality and genius is still alive. Jeff "Django" Baker is a mastermind, and Vic Ruggiero is one of the most amazing musicians to come around ever in popular music (and, trust me, i've heard a lot of music)!

Ska music review BUY THIS NOW!
Orangetree, as far as im concerned, is one of the best bands out there. The combination of punk ska and emo blends itself into a totally original style mix. The sound quality and vocals are amazing (Devotion is my favorite) and the lyrics for the songs dont get any written any better. If you like anything close to get up kids, mu330 (same singer, both bands), grade, pharmaceutical bandits, or catch 22, then this cd is for you. This is definetly a worthy addition to your collection.

Ska music review Ska Music Lives On
In the ghettos of Kingston, Jamaican music was taking storm, sparking a revolution among the youth. Jamaicans look to African-American R & B to create their own rhythms of music using the teachings of Marcus Garvey, reviving religions, and demanding independence from British colonial rule. This was the birth of ska and the man in charge was Clement "Coxonne" Dodd. Coxonne produced many hits and created giants such as Bob Marley and the Wailers & Toots & the Maytals. The genres of music change in each time period but the music is perserved for enthusiasts of Jamaican music and its musicians.

Ska music review 100% Pure Classics
At last a lot of this early 70's has been re-released on CD. Some of it is very hard to come by elsewhere, some of it is common, but as a collection this is as good as they come. You don't have to be a UB40 fan to enjoy these songs, but if you do own the LOL set then you will soon realise UB40's mastery, and the wonderful originals they had to work from. 25 originals of the 39 tracks contained on the three volumes of LOL make this incomplete, but a good start. So turn the sound system up - blast the bass - and get taken back to a time when only hippies had long hair and Rasta-men were considered rare.

Ska music review So wierd its cool
The picture Amazon shows is not for this CD, its for some other group. Somehow I accidentally downloaded Killer Bee Honey by the Free Radicals off of Amazon downloads. Its a wierd song. After listening to a bunch of times it grew on me and bought the CD. Its got a funky sound that's definitly not for every one. But don't just go by what I have to say. Cough up some hard cash and buy the CD so these guys make some money and put out another one.
