Evenrude rocks!Evenrude is one of the few bands from the Tony Hawk Pro Skater soundtrack and is the best one on it. Evenrude is a unsigned band and it is hard to find thier cds. I suggest you buy it used from the Amazon marketplace. Superabsorbant the first album from Evenrude is is the best album ever. It has great punk riffs and King's are very smooth. I recommend this album to real punk rockers and people that love the whole rock scene (punk, rock, metal). Trust me it's a great album.
Not just another boat motor, thank Satan! This is one of the best unsigned bands to ever come outta tha Lost Angeles area. Chris King's voice is very soothing and at the same time will hit you in tha nuts with his growls. One of the best tracks on tha cd is "Superdupperfunkingroovinfuzzywuzzyloveathon". The merger of lounge groove and funkiness makes me moist everytime I get tha chance to listen to it! Of course their big mainstream hit "Vilified" is featured on the 1st Tony Hawk video game. This is the best song on tha face of tha planet to skate to (or to do just about anything to, if'n you catch my drift!).
To sum it all up, if you dig fun, funky, heavy, lovemakin tunes then you better pic this gem up while you can. The demise of this LA based band has saddened many people in CA and Las Vegas, but thier genius will be forever imortalized in this perfect funkdafied freshman release! Thank you Evenrude for not being just another boat motor in this sea of cookie-cutter fish shticks!

The Second Coming of The Ventures! Now this is what Surf music is all about! The Supertones get the coolest tone from those guitars and lots of cool reverb. I wish I could see these guys perform as I'm sure they must be one hot band live. My favorites: Side Slippin (just close your eyes and dream about lying on the beach after a nice morning ride), The Sweet Ride (classic Dick Dale-type surf guitar - hey where's Gidget?), Moonshot Part 2 (a modern classic in the vein of Telstar - it's a shame that radio sucks so much they won't play cool stuff like this!), Media Noche (muy bueno amigo, si!) and the partyingest tune of all - "Surf Fever 2000" (makes me want to have a beach party with all my friends). The best thing about this disk is that it contains 20 songs - over 55 minutes of music! Now thats real value for your (...) bucks!

New Sounds of Heavy SurfBrazil's Estrume n Tal play an original blend of intense, instrumental, guitar driven surf rock. The songs are powerful and energetic and retain melody. All the songs are good on this CD. Some of my favorites are; Tubarao, Torpeido, and Marcha Funebre;a killer, revved-up version of the Funeral March. These guys mix the sounds of Dick Dale with Slayer. Excellent driving music. Highly recommended if you like Man or Astroman and stuff like that. Not for trad surf purists stuck in '61.

Average review score:

HOW SWEET IT ISThere may be some who disagree with the idea of this album being a bonafide classic, but I feel it ranks among the best of the Gladiators work. Just to listen to a song like 'Let Jah Be Praised' feels good. The title track is hot, as is 'Red Green and Gold'. Really there's nothing on the album I don't like, just some more than others. Excellent reggae, on par with 'Trenchtown Mix Up' or 'Proverbial Reggae'.

Bam Bam!Toots is my newest favorite. This album captures his heyday as a young music artist still making his name. The groove of his early (original) Rocksteady gets me swaying anywhere anytime. Alidina, Bla Bla, and the classics all make me wish he could have performed at ROTR 2000. Nuf respect! Highly recommend to anyone who dreams to live in the music of Jamaica c1970.

Yet, another great Citizen Fish masterpiece! Here they are again, the elder musicians of Citizen Fish just wont quit making music, and making good music at that. On this album they seemed to progress a little more than previous albums. Its a little more upbeat, you can actually dance to it. A lot more ska influenced music on Thirst also. This album you can run through track 1-12(all) without skipping around finding a good song, because they are all great.
