i can't wait to get this dvd. i put 5 stars and i didn't even see it yet.because its michael and i know its great i seen all the videos on vh1 but didn't see the dvd yet. there is no entertainer in music and dancing that could top michael jackson. there never was and there never will be.i been buying his music since i was a kid.im now 46. i remember while he was in the jackson 5 they used to have his records on the back of the cereal boxes. used to cut along the dotted lines and play the cardboard records on my record player. alphabits used to have the song abc.cardboard records with plastic coatings on them.they used to play great. sugar daddy was another one.well anyway michael you may have left us but you will always stay in all of our hearts.

So glad I got it

When I heard the news of Michael Jackson's untimely death I was at work & the whole floor was engaged in verifying if was true. When it was verified, one girl just completely broke down & I happened to be the closest to her, so I held her tenderly for a few. Comforting her seemed to ease my own pain. But I was still in Trippsville. How could this have happened? Yet I must accept it as the working out of Allah's Divine Will & Purpose. Michael Jackson's death will be the topic of conversation for the next few months if not years. As to the cause of Michael's death, we will have to wait for the coroner's report. I hope no foul play was involved.

Yes, he was a natural born genius. Yes, he was a critical component of what we call "POP" (BLACK MUSIC) today. But what is his true legacy? For me first it will always be the early recordings, although the later recordings are also astounding. Michael's songs connect you to raw emotion & authentic truths. That is why the people love him. Sometimes there are no words...it's a case of "SCENIC ECLIPSE" each song eclipsing the former, yet the former songs becoming standards in their own right. Standards that no one but Michael can do justice to. The mark of true genius.

Michael was one of the last truly great ones, in a long line of Black Musical geniuses, including Ray Charles, Quincy Jones, Sammy Davis Jr., Beethoven, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Eubie Blake, Mozart, Charlie Parker, Billie Holiday, etc., whose musical truths shone so brilliantly, than even in a racist world, they were able to make a connection based on their authentic musical genius.

Michael Jackson left a immense legacy, & will be sorely missed, but do not fret....there are even greater ones coming....Diamonds in the rough....coming from from the despised & the rejected, coming from the Womb of a Black Woman. They tried to destroy you Michael, because you dared to speak out against the racism you observed in the World & in the Music Industry perpetrated by both Jews & Anglos & their Black puppets, but they were unsuccessful. Don't worry, Jermaine will continue to sound that trumpet. Despite that, you still got the Beatles Catalog. My Man! Man makes plans, but Allah is the Best of Planners. Now Listen Michael, I'm looking at "THE MAN IN THE MIRROR" & I don't like long goodbyes, so just "BEAT IT" & "EASE ON DOWN THE ROAD" you know that you've "GOT TO BE THERE, and don't be "BAD" just "HEAL THE WORLD" & be a "DANCING MACHINE". Holla at "BILLIE JEAN" for me while you find your "CORNER IN THE SKY" & always remember "WHOSE LOVING YOU, Michael? We All Are. May Allah Bless You.

A GOOD REMEMBER OF MICHAEL JACKSON, June 25, 2009
This is an great DVD. The sound and picture quality is very good and the songs and music videos are some of the best around. The King Of Pop is spectacular!

Brace Yourself - A good intro to the DVD showing clips of Michael performing live in front of many fans. "Brace Yourself"...

Billie Jean - This is one of the best Michael Jackson videos ever released. A highlight.

The Way You Make Me Feel - This nine and a half minute version is great and also rarely seen!

Black Or White - My all-time favourite Michael video. It made me laugh at the beginning and the rest of it was brilliant!

Rock With You - Not keen on the song but I love the video!

Bad - The full-length 18-minute version is a must-have! It shows Michael as a young school boy at the beginning.

Thriller - The best chip of world. It needed to make this collection!

Beat It - A great video and a great song. Another highlight.

Remember The Time - I just love this video! Not only is the song good, but it includes a great egyptian-style video!

Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough - Not one of my favourites, but not bad either.

Heal The World - This song and video end the DVD nicely!

Buy this DVD and never say, Good Bye Michael!

I purchased this album when it first came out, and just about wore it out playing it all the time. Say what you want about the ego's of the band members, but they really did write and play music for a generation. "I am a child", "Nowadays Clancy", "Expecting to fly", and "Sit down I think I love you", are in my book pieces of an era that sadly is gone by. It was music that you could sing along to, or sit and listen to quietly. The distinct sound of Buffalo Springfield was magic. I still play this CD and I can remember the memories of a time that life was easier, and people were kinder, without having to squeeze into my old patched bluejeans.

Buffalo Springfield will always have their place in Rock and Roll history.
Stephen Stills and Neil Young used the group as their launching pad for bigger and better things.
For what it's worth, Mr. Soul, Bluebird, Questions, Special care, Broken arrow and others remain classics.
Unfortunately the band had trouble getting along so we have only three albums to listen to. Neil Young infact had already left the group when "Last time around" which was their last album was released.
If you want the best of Buffalo Springfield, here it is.......

Being 60 I sometimes forget what real, artistic music was. I have come through the years listening to the music scene change and my overview is that creativity, voice(of the people)and talent is or has spiraled downward. The Buffalo Springfield lets us hear what real musical talent accomplishes in song writting and musicianship. They were, along with many others of their generation, the beginning of the greatest musical phase of the century. All we get now are corporate teenage warblers and one beat rap "gangsta's". The "Great Society"?

Great cd! I can't wait until my baby arrives in 3 weeks, so we can listen to it together. One thing I do want to point out is that there are no words on these cds, it is only music. I wasn't 100% clear on that when I ordered. However, I love the music and it is such a fun idea! I plan on giving them as baby gifts in the future.

Beautiful, enjoyable CD. We bought it for my husband's parents. His dad has Altzheimers, and we thought he would enjoy music. Its only an hour long I wished it had been in its entirety. It was still well worth it to me to see these bands in their heyday. I dont think Ive ever seen Pigpen on film (Grateful Dead). It was great to see Grace Slick performing too from Jefferson Airplane. Its a must for any follower of the three bands. I like them all. Seeing two of the three bands live at different times was great but I didnt have a chance to see them in their heyday of the 70s.

The superjam at the end with all three bands together was the best.
This dvd is a must for any alternative rock collector. Excellent!!!

The video is a must have for your collection if you love old classic rock

Santana video and audio excellent. Would have been nice if they had more songs.

Grateful Dead. the camera operator must have been stoned. the first few minutes are on the drummer and the girl dancing. Shots of Jerry Garcia are from the rear. Took too long for the camera to get around to the front of the band.

The Star Airplane excellent

The end with the super jam of all three bands together jamming on stage is a classic. Would have been nice had more songs and was longer.

Best of all NO Interviews, All music.

A MUST HAVE!

If you are into any or all three of these bands, this video is a precious time capsule of each of them in their earliest, and arguably best, incarnations. Filmed in a relatively small SF club, the close ups of the facial expressions and interplay of the band members is exceptional. And for the Deadheads, there's rare Pigpen footage - rocking out on "Hard to Handle." The version of "Ballad of You & Me and Pooneil" is the greatest performance by the Airplane ever caught on film. And of course, Santana, -with his original lineup - is sublime. Don't hesitate on this one.

While I would say that it is a great historical record of concerts at The Family Dog, it would have been much better if they had shown the hall, the surroundings, Ocean Beach, Golden Gate Park, and done a little more about the history of Family Dog and what happened to the production company. None of that happpens in this film. Chet Helms should have a long and detailed section in the film and there isn't much, if anything about him in the history of Family Dog. All the concert ends up being is an incredibly abbreviated concert by three of San Francisco's, and Hippiedom's, favorite rock bands. The jam at the end is kind of a waste and really doesn't go that far. All in all, this basically is more for just the money than anything else. There's really nothing else here worth buying. Honestly, don't bother. It's too late for Janis, Pigpen is about to go, the end of the line for the Haight/Ashbury is months away and the Grateful Dead have already moved out of 710 Ashbury Street. Everyone has seen the writting on the wall. The speedfreaks have taken over (or about to take over) Hippie Hill and Golden Gate Park is fast becoming a dangerous place to walk through at night. Grace Slick is getting closer to the famous incident in Germany and she will soon have her breakdown. This could have been, and should have been, a much longer concert. KQED certainly held on to some of the tapes and there had to be more available to work with - they just didn't choose to work with it. One hour? This should have been two or even three hours long. It's a pity. But that's just my opinion. You might feel differently after viewing it. Carlos Santana is still incredible, Jerry Garcia is still fantastic, Jorma is still - WOW!! So, enjoy and forget everything negative I just said.

I grew up with these artists and these songs, blasting from the famous KWBR, later KDIA, in Oakland, CA. I couldn't get enough. It infuriated me when the White phonies stole the music, and they got played, while the real artists couldn't. I hate Pat Boone to this day, and have no respect for the rest of the lot. Finally, finally the original blues men and women are revered for what they are. Sadly, all too many of them are dead, and died in poverty. But their music is eternal.

I needed a traditional CD of patriotic songs to teach my Girl Scout troop but they wouldn't listen to this one past the first song. It is way to intense. The huge orchestra and the operatic voices, although truly beautiful, will not appeal to a mass audience.

Well Done!

This collection has all the standards, and a few "hard-to-find" ones. These are all well done. I used them recently during our church's senior adult program to honor our vets.

Enjoy.

Music we all need to hear once in a while.

This album is well put together and I enjoy the old standards. Music is an integral part of our heritage. Often when I listen to this album, I think about what our country has been through and how very, very important it is to appreciate what we have. I spent 3 years living in France in the 60's and I cannot tell you how much all Americans looked forward to going "Home!"

Enjoy!!
