A great album by a great band! This album has everything that was good about hair metal....great vocals, shredding solos,
catchy riffs and shouted choruses. This album comes after there most succesful album The Final Frontier which peaked at number
53 on the billboard charts in 1986.
1.United Nations- 10/10 A great opener. The intro harmony is great. An excellent melodic metal song similar to The Scorpions. The chorus is excellent and has tose great shouted backround vocals. Excellent vocals by Ron Keel of course. A great guitar solo and another great harmony. A classic!
2.Somebody's Waiting- 10/10 A great song. The only single released from the album. The riff is catchy as hell and the soft part leads into the heavy part perfectly. The huge chorus is great too. The guitar solo is excellent. The bridge and solo are both great too. The guitar solo reminds of George Lynch too! Ron Keels vocals are excellent and the high pitched screams are great too! One of my favorite songs ever.
3.Cherry Lane- 8/10 A good poppy song. The song reminds me of Van Halen and the keyboards work well here. The chorus is my favorite part of the song. Another good guitar solo too. Not one of the better songs on the album but still good.
4.Calm Before The Storm- 7/10 A decent power ballad. The song is a bit too soft and generic but not that bad. Some great lead guitar work in this one though!
5.King Of The Rock- 10/10 A great fast song. Perfect for headbanging. The riff is great and the chorus is excellent. The high harmony vocals in the chorus sound great too. The solo shreds too and has a great trade off. Another classic!
6.It's A Jungle Out There- 10/10 Another great rocker. The riff is excellent and the harmony is great too. Ron Keel's vocals are great too. The screams before the solo are awesome. Once again the solo shreds. Another huge chorus too!
7.I Said The Wrong Thing To The Right Girl- 7/10 A good poppy song. The keyboards and the chorus are good. The solo is very good too. Good but not one of the better songs. Don Dokken contributes backround vocals to this song.
8.Don't Say You Love Me- 10/10 A great song. The harmony is excellent and the song reminds me a bit of Under Lock And Key era Dokken. The chorus is great so is the riff. Another great guitar solo too. Once again Ron Keel's vocals are excellent.
9.If Love Is A Crime( I Wanna Be Convicted)- 10/10 Another great song. This reminds me of The Scorpions. Ron's vocals are great and the riff is catchy as hell. Another great chorus too. A great harmonized solo too.
10.4th Of July- 10/10 Another great fast song. The backround vocals and chorus are excellent. Another great solo too. Some great riffs too. Another classic.
This is a great forgotten album. It is hard to find but fans of Dokken, TNT, Quiet Riot and The Scorpions should enjoy this. The musicianship is great and this is hair metal at it's best. Don Dokken and Jaime St. James also guest on this album.

This album was my introduction to Axel Rudi Pell, and I must say I'm quite impressed with his songwriting and guitar playing.
He plays a kind of very melodic power metal. Anyone who likes high quality hard rock/metal that is of a more mature stately
nature will be instantly hooked! I gave the album four stars simply because I think Pell's music is more album oriented and
hard to compile. Pell differs from other guitarists like Yngwie Malmsteen in that his music is more song oriented and isn't
quite the guitar showcase. He's more focused on solid songwriting, but this isn't a bad thing since he always plays well.
Best songs on the CD I think are Casbah, Fool Fool, Eternal Prisoner, and Nasty Reputation. This disc also features some cool
vocalists like Rob Rock, and Jeff Scott Soto who also sang on Yngwie Malmsteen's first two solo CD's. Also, I think Axel's
albums have some of the best covers I've ever seen. I'm looking forward to hearing some more of his music, but he has so many
solid albums it's hard to decide which album to get next. Regardless this album is a great introduction to his music.

A Long Underrated Live Album

If you are in a certain age group you can probably remember what it felt like to buy a live album by your favorite band because
it contained nearly all of their best songs on one (sometimes 2 records/cds). I certainly do. But I also remember the ones
who didn't let me down from that era. This is one of them along with Robin Trower Live, Mahogany Rush LIve, Unleashed In The
East, One More From The Road & Live Bullet, Other live albums of the day sounded like butchered versions of your favorite
songs with extended, boring, sloppy solos, or no solos at all, nearly inaudible vocals, and of course all the usual chants
to and from the audience while disregarding the audience that heard this in somebody's car stereo on the way to the mall.
If you're a DP fan then you already know the songs and you don't need me to explain that each and every song here is as good as the studio version and that's what other live albums lacked.
This one is a classic that sounds great and it just gets better with age.

Alright! I knew that one of these days "Made in Europe" would finally be issued in a remastered format, and I'm glad that
it finally happened. I literally wore out the vinyl version when it was released back in 1976, and it's good to see a CD mix
that does the original some justice.
Chronicling the final concerts of the Mark III Purple era, "Made In Europe" showcases surprisingly tight performances from all of the members of the band. I say surprising because Ritchie Blackmore was reportedly very disinterested at the time, as he was planning to leave the band in short order. His playing on this record belies none of that, however. His shredding solo during "You Fool No One" certainly doesn't seem tossed-off or mailed-in in any way.
"Made in Europe" also proves that Purple still had quite the proto-metal edge to it's style. Glenn Hughes added some funk elements to the Purple sound, but little of that can be heard on this disk. The band instead focuses on giving the head-on hard rock treatment to all of these songs. "Stormbringer" for example,is far heavier than it was in it's studio incarnation, proving that the band still regarded itself primarily as a heavy rock vehicle.
All in all, this is a tremendous 70's-era hard rock live recording. Gotta get it if you're a Deep Purple fan.

I remember buying this album back in 1979-80, and the new remastered edition is a welcome improvement to the original vinyl
recording. Unquestionably, Made in Europe is yet another shining example of Deep Purple's superb live musicianship. All
of the songs on this album (Burn, Mistreated, You Fool No One, Lady Doubledealer, and Stormbringer) are infused with an electricity
and emotion that I feel make them more enjoyable than the studio versions, especially the live renditions of Burn, Mistreated,
and You Fool No one. Each member of the band is firing on all cylinders with his respective instrumental or vocal contribution,
making this album an overlooked treasure for both fanatics and casual listeners alike.
I have read in other Amazon reviews a certain bias against Glenn Hughes, which I feel is unwarranted. After listening to his bass playing on this album, I am more impressed with his improvisational skills and his crisp, decisive note playing than before. Actually, and no disrespect intended to Roger Glover, if you listen carefully to this album and compare it to Made in Japan, Glenn Hughes far outshines his Mark II counterpart in a live performance. I do have one small critical remark about the album, and that is the muted guitar on Lady Doubledealer. You really have to crank up the volume to enjoy Blackmore's guitar genius because it is audibly hemmed in by Paice's drums and Lord's keyboards. Otherwise, this live offering is a five-star tour-de-force and well worth the investment. David Coverdale sums it up succintly in his vocal intro to Burn when he says "Rock and Roll." Made in Europe epitomizes the very best of hard rock music in the 1970s.

Great remaster of this fantastic live album. The remastered sound is punchy and crisp, with Ian Paice's drumming thrashing
about in all its glory. One little nitpick, Blackmore's guitar seems to be pushed a little bit back in the mix here and there,
but it's never inaudible. It's a great CD, although there are no bonus tracks. And bassist Glenn Hughes' high-pitched shrieking
doesn't occur much here. Only on the break in "Burn," and a spot or two elsewhere, which is great. Glenn is a fantastic bassist
and a great singer when he sings in his natural range, but his shrieking is hit and miss. Thankfully, there's little of his
squealing here. Glenn's bass sounds great on this remaster, too. I never owned this LP or the original CD, so I don't know
what to compare it to, but to these ears, this jewel sounds great. I only wish there was a little bit more artwork and essays
in the CD booklet (like the Gillan-Glover reissues), but the remastering is really great.

This is some good stuff! Pop it in the car stereo and turn it up. This is more Hard Rock with a touch of Blues. My kinda thing.
I'll admit the vocals are not top shelf, but they fit the bill and the music is excellent. Great guitar work. I'll check out

I stumbled upon this title and decided to give it a chance just based on the concept. I was not disappointed. I got what I
asked for. A cd with music that comes from the heart and conjures images of dancers groovin in a smoke filled bar. The music
is not unlike Trower yet Chastain makes each song his own by injecting his fret work that grinds it's way through each whisky
soaked song.
If you like nasty guitar laced tunes, this is for you.

I have three earned degrees, and I teach religion at a Midwestern college. The music of Pink Cream 69, I'm glad to say, changed
my life forever. I teach full time, but if the day ever comes where I can play music like what you'll hear on "Thunderdome"
or any PC69 album, I'm leaving the academy and its bloodless intellectuals behind.

First off, I'm more of an Andi Deris/Helloween fan. But I have a few of the David Readman era PC 69 cds (Thunderdome, Electrified,
Endangered). This one seems to have stronger songs, and stands out of those. Electrified is also solid, while Endangered
seem a bit more filler. The ever stable line up of Dennis Ward(bass), Alfred Koffler(guitar), and Kosta Zafiriou(drums),
with keyboardist Guenter Werno on a couple of tracks. The title track is quite good, and was stuck in my head a while.
Very catchy.

Thunderdome - "DAS ultimative Pink Cream 69 Album".

Some history....My first experience of Pink Cream 69 was a song called Break The Silence back in 1998 when it was featured
on a taster cd on the front of a metal magazine.
As soon as the song had finished assaulting my ears with what I can only describe as a full on melodic whipping just teetering on the edge of heavy metal but not quite stepping over the line, I decided I absolutely must own the cd which it was taken from.
I found it, it was called Electrified and it does exactly that to you as you listen. I don't have any of their earlier cds but I have every one released after then including Sonic Dynamite, Endangered, Thunderdome (this one that I'm reviewing) and the follow up to that called In10sity.
There really isn't much for me to say about this cd or the band except, if you can find their music, buy it!!
Forgive me for swearing but they are f**king awesome, the hooks, the riffs, the solos, the vocals, the production, everything about them screams quality, perfection and class.
I don't know of a better band in this genre. They just get better and better and I have no idea how because they started off bloody brilliant.
Amongst the ranks they have Denis Ward, the american born bass player, major songwriter for the band and not only does he produce their music he's renowned as one of the best producers in the business anyway. Then you have Mr David Readman born in the UK and their 2nd vocalist after the first one left to join Helloween, David is also a major songwriter for PC69 and also has his own band on the side and has been voted by the industry as the 2nd best vocalist in rock/metal behind D.C. Cooper of Royal Hunt.
So when I say this band is good, I mean it.
You will not be dissapointed by this disc or any other PC69 disc.
Find it, buy it, rock out and love it.

Could not wait to watch this DVD. When I got home and watched it with my wife we noticed that the music was much louder then
Steven's vocal. You could not hear much of the lyric. This band is great, but who ever made this DVD should edit cartoons
for the deff and blind.
Only good, but still better than most

Well, everybody has already talked about the annoying editing so i won't bother. The concert itself is awesome though. It's
funny, because the documentary part is about the making of their album "Honkin' on Bobo," but they only do two songs from
it. It's almost like they are trying to say "Please, listen to our blues music, it's really good, but there's no way that
we could make a movie about it that would sell." So, it's a story of the making of "Honkin' on Bobo," but to the tune of everybody's
favorite Aerosmith songs. I own it, I love it and I can watch it over and over again
Great!

Very nice performance, although I prefer live DVD's that show a little more of what's happening on stage...
Still it's amazing stuff, I just love the 5 bonus tracks that really show the band in all its glory.

This was everything I expected with great performances - insight from the Band - special Guest like Lenny Kravitz talking
about how these guys are a great bunch of guys. The music is good it was put together well - a good mix of old and newer songs
up to the release and tour of Honkin On Bobo - which I believe is somewhere around 2003 vintage. I would recommend this to
anyone who is the slightest fan of Aerosmith. It allows you to appreciate the band even more. I am going to see them very
soon in Toronto Canada and I am looking forward to a great show.
Missing the point ?

Last night, I watched the WHO at a recent BBC session at the roundhouse in London ... once a brilliant group, here were Roger
( who looked like a botoxed waxwork ) and Pete ( greying and lethargic ) looking and sounding HORRIBLE. Daltrey could not
hit a note, his timing was rubbish and they killed what were once fantastic songs. On top of that the "energy" of the band
was about the same as that produced my hamster running around his exercise wheel.
My point? Here are Aerosmith 30 years on rocking as hard as ever, and Steve Tyler producing a vocal performance which was simply breathtaking. Throughout the entire concert he does not miss a note, and I am in AWE of his vocal ability after a lifetime of ..well, everything he has lived through !
OK, we can all criticise this DVD "packaging" for all the stated reasons, but lets remember that there are precious few reviewers here who criticise the music, energy, and brilliance of Aerosmith the group. You should be proud of these guys because they are everything that a rock group should be, and the fact that they are as good now as they were when I first saw them 20 odd years ago, and are still able to put 100% into their performances, is almost unique.
I wish I could say the same for some British groups that attempt to maintain rock credibility, but are now frankly, embarrassing. That is NOT something you could EVER level at Aerosmith.
Thanks lads(!), you bought a tear to my eye. You have created some of the best rock music this world has ever heard, and although not perfect, this DVD is WELL worth the money

mark st john, a lightning fast player that didn't quite fit into gene and paul's plan.but this is one heck of a listen.

Animalize is one of Kiss' most underrated albums. It is really good. Gene's songs are alright, Burn Bitch Burn is definitely
one of if not the best Gene songs on here. All of the Paul songs rock hard. I've Had Enough should have been a single and
a big hit. That song rocks hard. Mark St. John was fantastic on that song. Everyone knows Heaven's On Fire is great. Great,
underrated album.

The second album of KISS with no makeup. This album is pretty good all the songs on here are good and its a good 80s rock
album but the reason here I give it four stars is that because this isnt the KISS from the 70s. This was the KISS that was
different and had no makeup and there sound changed completly. I still think its pretty good but its the only non makeup album
ive bought because i prefer there makeup days with the original members...

I'm a huge KISS fan I love them so much. I had Animalize on tape until my tape player ate it. The songs are of good quaility
and I love the fact that they have lyrics in the front of the album. Over all I give this a hgh rating that I(His sister)
and my brother(The one who I wrote it under) both enjoyed.

Don't buy this DVD!! - I was so excited when I purchased this DVD. Based on the title, I thought it would included video
footage from Aerosmith's entire career. I couldn't wait to see old concert footage and photographs of the band. When it
arrived and I finally watched it I couldn't have been more disppointed. First off, the DVD only shows footage from a Woodstock
'94 concert - that's it!! Apparently they played every hit at this concert because they use only this concert as an referrence
to talk about the hits throughout their career. Isn't this supposed to be a videobiography? On top of that the footage is
filmed poorly and looks hazy - I wouldn't be surprised if one of the scammers who put this out filmed it with his camcorder
from the audience. Secondly, the film is made documentary style and all the people they interview are bald English guys
with horrible teeth that I've never heard of. It's such a joke!! I want to hear what Slash has to say about Aerosmith or
at least someone else matters in the course of American rock n roll. The ugly English guys are filmed with mic stands behind
them like they're in a studio, but they're not even musicians. This whole DVD is so budget - I can't believe it was originally
$30. Please don't waste your money on it.

Arkona play a very impressive blend of Russian folk and metal. The female vocalist has an amazing range. Sometimes she sings
so sweetly that I am sure she is getting the attention of the old gods she is calling. In this mode, she conjurs the image
of an ancient priestess in the primordial wood. Then her beautiful voice changes into such a hideous growl that it is hard
to believe that the same person is singing. For me, this growling detracts from the epic feel of the music and hence, I give
this release four instead of five stars. It has always seemed to me, that growling vocals are for bands who can't find a
competant singer. This is so obviously NOT the case with Arkona that I am dunbfounded. Maybe a nod to fans of formulaic
death metal?
That having been said, this album is still great. Much of the music has the feel of Heathen hymns and the liner notes are very informative.
I do not know much about the Pagan Russians but I have definately learned something. The songs are all sung in Russian but they are well explained so that the listener knows what they mean.
I hope, in the future, Arkona will drop the death metal formula and embrace the beauty of which they are capable. They have great potential if they dare to be different.

Maybe it's just me, but I can't hear any difference between the 2002 CD and this GOLD CD. Perhaps my hearing is shot from
attending too many rock concerts over the past 40 years. Both CD releases sound fantastic to me. I had both CDs encoded at
256 kbps and did a blind test with the same ipod and speakers and I honestly cannot discern any difference between the 2002
CD and 2005 Gold CD.
I paid almost twice as much for the Gold CD, and I expected to be blown away by the improved sound quality,
but no such luck...it sounds just as good as the 2002 release.

Deep Purple's 1973 "Who Do We Think We Are" is a fantastic album. It's been shuffled into the background behind some of those
other Purple classics "Machine Head," "Fireball" and "In Rock". The great production, the hard driving polished playing and
the killer songs make for one really enjoyable album. The Audio Fidelity remastering is easy on the ears, and it also includes
the lyrics. The EMI re-mastering was good, but this is great!!! So now, we Deep Purple fans will have to have two copies of
"Who Do We Think We Are" in our CD collection.
I've read all the reviews on this album and it seems that the big favorites are "Woman From Tokyo", "Smooth Dancer" and "Rat Bat Blue". While "Mary Long", "Our Lady" "Super Trooper" and "Place In Line" get there share of votes too. All this positive feedback proves something I've known all along, this is one great album. Now sounding better than ever.
Thanks Mr. Hoffman. Bring on the U.S. version of "Fireball" next.
Long Live DP!

This is my favorite Deep Purple album, and while the bonus tracks on the Warner Bros. remaster are nice, they screwed-up the
sound, so this is an answer to my prayers. There aren't any bonus tracks, but the original album sounds better than it's ever
sounded on CD. I'm going to have to give Audio Fidelity's Montrose and Faces discs a try. I'd love to have a primo version
of A Nod's as Good as a Wink!
Update 6-26-09: I just wanted to clarify why I like this version over the Rhino: The primary difference between the two versions is that the Rhino is brighter. Those who feel their system sounds a little too warm might like the Rhino better.
