KMFDM music reivew Take another moment to punch something and DANCE!
Each of these tracks are solid early 90s kmfdm, but I can't help feeling sorry for those poor saps trying to sell it for 15$+. It's kinda fun thinking that this single is 'rare', but even more fun knowing that I didn't pay more than 5 bucks for it.

KMFDM music review Vogue--what more do you want?
This CD is excellent. All four songs are wonderful, even better than the originals, for the most part. The original "Split" is better, but these remixes still hold their own. I recommend this CD-single to all KMFDM fans, especially those of "Money."

KMFDM music review KMFDM Proves Once Again They are Ahead of Their Time
This single has not left my CD player in a month. I got it at the suggestion of a friend....if you like driving beat, electronica, funk, aggressive guitars, all mixed to exquisite perfection, spend your cash on this gem. "Sex on the Flag" MUST be played at maximum volume. You must FEEL that one to believe it. "Split-Apart" is George Clinton meets Rammstein. I own other KMFDM singles and CD's and this is my favorite, by far. Buy it before it's no longer available.........GO NOW!!!

KMFDM music review The best CD single I've ever bought !
This is a MUST for any KMFDM fan! Aside from the original album mix of Brute, which of course is amazing, this also contains 3 great remixes and a killer B-side remix of Revolution. The Kun$t and In Your Face remixes of Brute seriously kick, although the In Your Face remix is not very different from the original mix. The Punch remix kicks butt too, but has an added element of funkiness to it. And to top it all off, you get Revolution II, which is in my opinion the actual reason to buy this CD... the original mix of Revolution was good, but this remix is GREAT! Absolutely indispensible... I could listen to the CD for days on end. If you like KMFDM, consider your life devoid of meaning until you own this album!

KMFDM music review KMFDM's 'absolute must-have' cd
This is (arguably) their best album. Crushing tunes like "Drug Against War" abound on this disc, and even the slower songs can pound you. Second only to seeing them live, this is THE cd to own if you're only going to have one.

KMFDM music reivew Simple really...
I've been a fan for longer than I care to say. On that note, just buy Agogo for the best tracks that you're missing, and use the rest of the cash on the excellent Money and Angst era remix singles. That is, of course, assuming you don't have the mainline albums.

KMFDM music review strangely, i would recommend this to kmfdm firstimers
even though this ultra-rare album is most likely to be bought by kmfdm fanatics/completists, i would say that this is the album that showcases kmfdm's style differences the best. at first i was skeptical about buying this because i felt that the 5-star rating were due to the amount of money forked over for it. i threw out a significant amount of money for this album and it hasn't disappointed one bit..even if you have the re-release, hell to go, i would recommend this...anyways, this album basically showcases the sounds of kmfdm up to their "nihil" album....for instance, the song "naive" will appeal to fans of the money album...go to hell and godlike will appeal to the metalhead fans of angst and nihil....their is a live version of don't blow your top's "disgust." the "virus dub" will appeal to the UAIOE people...liebesleid and achtung will appeal to the dancey fans who found beast and juke joint jezebel great...the album even has some unique flavor of its own...die now live later and friede are unique compared to anything else they have done.

i hate to sound like im bragging about having this ultra expensive album, but sadly it is an essential in my book....hell to go will suffice if you are a small spender though!..or at least wait until this is re-released.

KMFDM music review One of the 2 KMFDM albums I'd give 5 stars
Nihil being the best of KMFDM's 'ultra heavy beat'/industrial metal days, Naive is the best (meaning most consistent) of their earlier period. Most KMFDM albums have a fair share of filler songs and guest appearances that are occasionally bad and ruin the feel of the album (Dogma, Anarchy). Early KMFDM was often repetitive, boring and pointless.

This album marked a transition into an emphasis on heavy, dancable beats and bass, catchy lyrics and for the first time coherent song structures. The production is vastly improved from their early efforts- the drum sounds kick, although guitars are still way too low in the mix, a problem that continued all the way up until Nihil. Played through good speakers this album grooves like no other. Sascha's vocals are monotone and lazy, little aggression or energy compared to the KMFDM of later days. This makes Naive a great chill out record.

Most of the songs follow a similar formula- catchy bass/beat with overlaid Sascha chant and occasional clean or distorted guitar, switching between 'verse' and 'chorus'. "Achtung", "Die Now- Live Later" and the funky "Virus" are my personal favorites.

"Go to Hell" is an anthem that hints at what would be unleashed on 1993's "Angst" and beyond. "Liebeslied" has less minimalism then the rest, augmenting the sound with string samples and catchy synth melodies. This song is rightful considered an industrial classic. "Disgust" is an older song that sounds infinitely better on this album (in live form). The parts have been almost totally rewritten from the "Don't Blow Your Top" version.

A complete, spacy and fun early KMFDM album, and one of the best dance albums of all time. "Money" continued in this sound with some more great songs, but wasn't long enough.

KMFDM music reivew good to have---okay to hold
We find Raymond in a distinct place; neither as hilariously bad as he began, nor as astoundingly good as he became. I've been singing the Lard Lord's praises for almost a decade now, and buy this album used for your 'I love this guy' collection, but don't expect anything especially new, or even imitable.

KMFDM music review Brilliant
Not a bad song on here. Full of replay value. This is probably the best EP by KMFDM. Very good stuff. Don't hesitate.

KMFDM music review RAYMOND STRIKES AGAIN!
I picked this up because of my huge fandom (is that a word?) of Raymond Watts (aka Pig). This EP, because it's not really a full album, has a comical value for me, due mostly to the sampling of the reverand john hagey on "rape robbery and violence", and also due to big t on "f me hoghunter". Along with the comic value, however, there is also some really good music coming out of this EP. For the price, you couldn't possibly go wrong.

KMFDM music review One of the very best from KMFDM.
Sure, since MDFMK, they have become probably one of the most revered industrial bands out there; but this is a personal favorite of mine, pre-MDFMK. Recognized the first track, "Ultra," right away when I saw a trailer for Manga and just had to start dancing. "Disobedience" has to be my favorite track on the album - truly unique for KMFDM's style, but certainly a treat, accompanied by brass instruments and an amazing guitar riff that knocked me flat on my back. If you like KMFDM and have not yet heard this album, I would highly recommend it. It's worth its money.

KMFDM music review addictive little industrial gem
this is definately among my top industrial albums...that i have heard. the other kmfdm cds being out of print really doesnt help a curious mind at all. if you want this album cheap, go get it on ebay. i don't think there are any over 20 dollars. i have yet to get angst, symbols and the other out of print kmfdm albums, but im going to end up getting them.

is it just me, or is all the good music going out of print and STAYING there?

oh well, it only makes kmfdm's old stuff seem like a delicacy which is a good thing.

KMFDM music review harder than the rest
This is not as dark as some reviews say it is. Well at least its not as dark as some of the music I listen to, but it is definantly awsome. It kind of picks up where angst left off with the guitars, but on this cd Ramond Watts is in the mix. This is probably the most popular KMFDM cd. Especially with Hits like Juke Joint Jezebell.
Ultra 6/10 At first I thought this song was awsome but overtime it got boring
Juke Joint Jezebel 8/10 This is the song that gets most people into KMFDM. I think its a good song but I can think of about 25 other songs from them Id rather here. Dont get me wrong this one is fun, but when I think of KMFDM I think of songs like,Flesh, Glory, Dogma, Anarchy, Free your hate, apathy and stray bullet.
Flesh 10/10 speaking about flesh this is the first great song on this cd. Watts does an excellent job on the vocalls and the guitars just kick ass. This one should definantly be one of there more popular songs.
Beast 9/10 I really like this one. Its got fun lyrics and great music
Terror 10/10 Great beat and great lyrics. Really catchy. The first time I heard this one I couldnt get it out of my head all day
Search and Destroy 10/10 Another of my favorites. It is really fast and energetic. Great lyrics "will we close our eyes and fall for their lies, or will we make the conclusion that this lifes a dilousion.
Disobediance 9/10 When I bought this cd I never would have thought that I would like this song. But it grew on me and now its one of my favorite songs on here. If your not used to horns give this one time and it will make a fan out of you.
Revolution 8/10 Beautiful singing from Darona. She is my second favorite KMFDM female vocalist after of course the sexy Lucia.
Brute 10/10 Another hard song. once again watts is the man . The guitars ar really good.
Trust 8/10 this one reminds me of brute and beast in a way. Pretty good song to close out the cd.
This is one of the most important cds to buy. If you can find it under 15 dollars pick it up right away. Its out of print. I bought it at 25 and it was worth it, but the day after somebody was selling it for 10$. F$%k!

KMFDM's previous album, Xtort, was a corrosive industrial metalfest that burned as deeply as most anything by Ministry or Nine Inch Nails. But fans expecting more gut-pounding, head-smashing euphoria are in for a surprise. The band's self-titled successor is light on the metal, heavy on the electronic--which isn't to say KMFDM are hopping on some Chemical Brothers/Prodigy bandwagon. They were futzing around with samplers and keyboards over a decade ago. It's just that diehard metalheads might find KMFDM's skittering beats and blipping keyboards a little too left-field. But for open-minded souls who like to dance and destroy, KMFDM should prove to be a hedonistic cauldron of carnal delight. --Jon Wiederhorn

KMFDM music reivew It's a good CD, but...
why the F#@! is it $55.00+ ????? I don't understand that...

KMFDM music review Whatever the price you have to pay....
....it is worth the money. Luckily, I paid 'bout $14 dollars for it. Still worth the money. I now need to invest in getting a CD burner because I know I'm gonna wear out this CD once I get a set of wheels.

KMFDM music review sticks in one's cd layer
kmfdm are a hard band to pick and choose favorites with.since every album of thiers differs in style very much. this album is amazing. especially when listened to in the car and loud bass. every old person looks at you and thinks "wtf?" upon first listen, this album may seem a bit boring and will make you want to skip on to the next track, but that is HARDLY what it is. over a period of 2 days, i have gotten used to every song on this album except maybe one or two of them. guess what? they are all awesome!! this is a definate worthy follow up to the almighty xtort. if you have any interest in goth techno clubs or good music in general, then this is your album.

this is the music real goths should like instead of whiny screamo.

Average review score: KMFDM music reivew

KMFDM music reivew The KMFDM formula finds its first sucess.
Angst is probably the first KMFDM album I can actually listen to and enjoy. All of their pre-1992 stuff is repetitive, with the same guitar riff over and over again as well as over-used sloganeering. Technically Angst is not much different: The sloganeering is still here, as well as repetitive thrash guitars, odd sampling, electronic effects, and their sense of humour. But somehow they managed to do it "Right" this time around. Songs like "Light" and "Sucks" are probably KMFDM's sense of humour at their best (Though there are some good ones later). "A Hole in the Wall" has probably their most disturbing lyrics yet. Also on Angst, their political side is found, with "A Drug Against War"(also their first mainstream hit), "No Peace", and "The Problem" being their continuing commentary on politics and society.

And so the KMFDM formula of either funny, disturbing or political songs (with little in between) suceeds for the first time. While it would later be done better (Fans of the metal guitars will probably like Nihil more, while fans of industrial/dance will like Symbols more, and XTORT + Attak sort of combine the two), Angst is the first time KMFDM succeeded with this formula.

KMFDM music review kmfdm have yet to let me down
as of now, i own 3 kmfdm albums. it surprises me how good this band actually is. i mean with just about every single one of their cds being out of print, it is kind of a large investment to purchase them. i currently have this one, nihil and hau ruck. they are all very good listens and never really get old. they are by far a metal band far above the other in a league of their own. i highly recommend this album to everyone. there is maybe one song that is just okay..that is the last one on the cd. while it is a shame these albums are hard to find, it keeps the trendy scene people away and makes kmfdm a delicacy. so that is a plus.

KMFDM music review KMFDM are Godlike!
If you ask me wich KMFDM is the best I would say either ww3,Angst, Nihil, or Xtort. Its so hard to choose between them that I would give a different answer every day of the week. Angst was the third Cd I bought of theirs. I would recommend anyone who is just getting into KMFDM to start here if you can find it. It has some of KMFDMs more popular songs. However There are a lot of underated songs on here that are just as good.
Light 7/10 It has good guitar and I love the drum but the lyrics can get annoying. Still a fun song though.
A drug against war 8/10 It took me a while to get into this one. It is the xtremally fast. But after a while I fell in love with it. Lots of energy, but the video for it is the worst video I have ever seen. It is embarrassing that a great band can make such a crappy video.
Blood 10/10 One of my Favorites. Great guitar and an awsome beat.
Lust 9/10 This is an awsome song with german lyrics. It has a real dancy funky sound. Its agood change of pace after the first 3 songs.
Glory 20/10 This is probably in my top 5 KMFDM songs. It really defines what kind of band they are. This cd is worth buying for this song alone.
Move On 8/10 Another real good song. Kind of slow but still heavy.
No Peace 10/10 I think this one is real underated
A hole in the wall 10/10 Awsome guitar in this song. Kind of a dark love song.
Sucks 9/10 Of all their humorous songs Sucks, inane, and Intro are the best. Contrary to the title this song has some of the best music on the cd. It flat out rocks. Lyrics might annoy some people though.
The Problem 8/10 It doesnt fit in on the cd but it is still good. It has some Piano And a real good beat. The lyrics are political. It sounds like it would fit well on HAu Ruck.

Although they weren't as essential to the development of modern industrial music as, say, Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, or Front 242, Germany's KMFDM have pretty much been around since the inception of the genre. In their infant days they may have been clanging on metal pipes like country mates Einstürzende Neubauten and using animal intestines as stage props, but through the years they've mastered the art of guitar-augmented industrial dance music, experimented with thrash metal, and become one of the few modern industrial acts to still create original, cathartic music with electronics. For the uninitiated, Retro is a nice introduction, mixing the razor-edged riffing of KMFDM's latter-day discs Xtort, Nihil, and Angst with the earlier drum-machine barrages of UAIOE and What Do You Know, Deutschland? --Jon Wiederhorn

KMFDM music reivew MORE AND FASTER!!
I was first introduced to these guys in 97 or so when I was watching the movie based on a Dean Koontz book called "Hideaway" starring Alicia Silverstone and Jeff Goldbloom. There was a song on there that seemed to mix dance, techno, metal, and rock all in one. The song was Godlike/Doglike...from there I was hooked. If you like Anything with a great beat and driving guitars then I suggest you get this album. It's missing songs on it that I would have preferred to see like "Lust" "Bargled" and "Beast" but you can always check into those later. Overall a great compilation of a band that was jamming out industrial metal trance (or whatever you call this kind of music) about the same time NIN and Ministry hit the mainstream.

The cover is spectacular as it has 9 of their studio released related to the songs found within on the cover. As you can see, their covers are usually done by the same artist, in 2 color tones and have some sort of 1930's comic book Scare on them...well just look at the covers to know what I'm talking about. Often it takes album art from the outset to show a new listener that a band stands out from the crowd, and this is one of those bands!

POWER, JUKE JOINT JEZEBEL, MORE AND FASTER, and many more are truly powerful songs that will take you on a journey. Leave the mainstream for a while, and jump into the world of KMFDM!

KMFDM music reivew An excellent compilation.
This is perfect for people who want an introduction to KMFDM. I think that's what it was intended as, and I couldn't agree with the idea behind it better.

You don't have all the best tracks, but you have a sampling of some of the really good stuff ---->"Juke Joint Jezebel" and they don't have the really hard stuff on here either, so you don't scare newbies away with that.

I think this is a perfect introduction to this exciting band. If you're new to the genre, this is a place to start. Buy this album and see if you like it.

KMFDM music review good cd to have
if you love kmfdm like I do, this is a must have, it has all the great songs from many of their albums, I'd use this one in my car rather than have all my kmfdm cds piled up in the glove box or in the back seat getting wrecked.

KMFDM music reivew She's not a KMFDM side-kick.+
I really like the sound of Lucia's vocals, whether it is her screams or her melodies. She's pretty entertaining to watch on stage as well.
Lucia has a Tobey Torres vibe in her voice. Lucia's got a lot more power though. This album is your vocal album. Lot's of females go solo. Liv Kristine's work on Deus Ex Machina has that melodic and acoustic vibe on her album. There's also the electro-dance songs on these types of vocal albums.
Tracks to Remember are:
"Who asked you?"
"Monkey Puzzle Tree?"
"Fear"

KMFDM fans, this isn't some Raymond Watts side project. I wouldn't mind if Cheryl Wilson, or Dorona Alberti would release an album. I miss those KMFDM days, but Lucia is a fine addition to the later KMFDM.

KMFDM who? This is Lucia.

KMFDM music review Great Classic Rock
This doesn't have the Alternative-Rock style sounds of KMFDM or Drill. It's very much a Classic Rock sound due to the melodic sophistication of her vocals. I doubt typical heavy metal fans would like it for being too poppy.

KMFDM music review Whazzup with you people?
Everyone here seems to think that life began for Lucia with her KMFDM/MDFMK association... not true! Many years back I owned the self-titled album "Drill" by her first band. She was an excellent singer, and a contemporary of Toni Halliday and Shirley Manson... not an imitator. In fact, her vocals on that album exhibit much more vocal range than either of the aforementioned sirens (both of whom are favorites of mine). Compare the "Drill" album to Shirley's "Angelfish" recordings, or anything Toni did prior to "Come Clean", and you will see what I mean. This solo album by Lucia is a great piece of work, though at this point I am still fonder of the work with "Drill" than the role she has played with KMFDM, and this is closer to that. What about a "Drill" reunion, Lucia? Naaaa... strike that. Anything you do is fine by me, so long as you keep making kick-ass music. I do like you better as a frontperson, than a backing vocalist, for sure. Anyone out there who tries to revue Lucia as if she's a newcomer needs to do their research!!!!!!!!!!
