International music review Magnifique!
Alors...
apprcie!

International music review help...need a translation!
i just received her cd today and i just love love love it...she has such a beautiful voice. i dont speak any french, so if anyone knows of where i can find an english translation of any of her lyrics...please tell me! thanks.

International music review I still listen to this after over a year!
I discovered Carla Bruni's all French album for over a year now and I still enjoy listening to it. I happened to have one of the tracks off of her album from a sampler I received from Naive called Tout Le Monde and it's so good! She has the most amazing voice!! Because that song is so good I had to get the entire album. It's so great to hear Carla's voice periodically in the background when you are having a stressful day. If you don't know anything about Carla Bruni she is the famous supermodel from Italy.

International music reivew Stabbing your eardrums with toothpicks would be more entertaining...
Dear God - this is pretentious, bland pop trash at it's worst.

First, right out of the way, let me say that I was looking forward to getting this disk, after listening to a snippet of the first track, 'Embryo'.

Also let me say, I hadn't listened to any of Rosa's solo albums prior to that snippet, but I was a big fan of his work with Maggie's Dream, and I can't say that I was prejudiced against him regarding the whole Menudo thing. You break into the business however you can, I guess.

But this...

The first track being the exception here, the music is bland and uninspired, the lyrics are pretentious attempts at 'poetry', and Rosa's voice has the most annoying, droning whine imaginable to it.

Ug.

Luckily enough, I got it used for less than $5.

International music review Draco's vagabond soul
For those not familiar with Frio (and for those who don't speak Spanish!) this album is It. Welcome to the world of Draco Rosa, where words are portals to a separate existence and the human spirit can escape the confines of static emotion. Songbirds & Roosters is lyrical escapism at its best. Simple, effective instrumentation and melody allow the listener to indulge in the emotive journey of the lyrics and Draco's dark vocals are somehow soothing and unsettling both at once. The album's underlying melancholy reaches its blackest with "Lifeless Clown" and does not completely dissolve even beneath the romance of "Sunshine" or the relative brightness of the opening track, "Embryo." The stand-out track? "Mourning Gun," featuring Draco's voice over solo electric guitar, is a haunting and unforgettable musical experience that captures the artist's self-proclaimed romantic streak as well as his inscrutable instinct for poetic depth. A fine album by a fine artist - very much worth the purchase.

International music review Songbirds and Roosters
In this CD you will find the same melodies from "Frio" but with different lyrics what makes it very interesting cause who can make a Cd with old music and at the same time make all new with fresh lyrics... It is amazing how he portrays all his life in this Cd....Like he mostly do... songs that I like from this work are Blindman's parade, Nymph, Lifeless Clown.

International music review opini?n

International music review Simply said, It's enjoyable......
Iran Castillo... The name goes with some of the most elite spanish soap opera actresses of all time. Her strong and versatile performance in such soaps as Sonadoras has brought ger stardom in the telenovela scene. But she should be put into considration into another medium of entertainment, the music business. For a long time it has been known that in most of the soaps she had been in, she probably sang the theme song of, which is good, if you just want to show the world how well you can sing... but any star search reject can do that. So to prove herself and the word that she didn't have just a good voice, but had the versatility to become an artist, she headed forward. Straight into the studio she went, 1st she tuned in her voice, and ultimately began to record music. What came of this, is what we know today as the pop album, "tatuada en tus besos." But to get to the point, is this album worth it? Yes, it definitley is for those who just want to have CD that you can listen to again and again, just because it is enjoyable. If your looking for an album that has meaning and reflection, don't buy this album. But! if you want dancable music (fast, slow... it's all in there!) and catchy lyrics that are easy to pick up and sing along to before you even finish your first listen, this is the one for you. It's Puro Pop as you may say. In a basic album analysis, the album starts of fairly slow with probably one of the worst songs in the album known as "Girando en el Tiempo" but then suddenly picks up with the records strongest track and hit single "por ti, por mi." From their the pop music just flows smoothly till the end, highlight tracks I may say say are the title track and the ballad "Di Que No" To finish off this review I would like to answer the question that many have asked me,"in 1 word, describe this album" and I would have to say to all of you right now, that the word is... GREAT

International music review One of my favorites!!
I really love this entire CD. It is one of my favorites. I can listen to it all day and not get bored of it. Iran has a great voice and has won me over. I would recommed this CD to everybody. You won't be sorry. All of my friends love it and even try to sing to it, even though they don't speak Spanish.

International music reivew Almost Paradise
Beautiful voice & his island songs(esp. These Islands)are exceptional, but most of the others songs were very popular 70's/disco-ish songs. Reminescent of Johnny Mathis' comeback of the 70's. If you are into that then you will love this album. I would have preferred ALL island/Hawaiian songs instead.

International music review Almost Paradise.... Indeed!
Almost Paradise Na Hoku Hano Hano Award Winning Song of the Year '2000 under the Danny Couch Record Independant Recording Artist label.
Theme song from Miss Universe Pageant/Adopted Theme Song for Land of Hawaii used in worldwide Commercial promoting Hawaii Visitors and Tourist Bureau 1998 Hawaii Music Awards Best Song, Best Singer and Best Album of the Year. Currently being used by the state to promote and entice major conventions to their beautiful Convention Center.
Several versions of this song were written, and the second version is an instrumental, which is recorded on his Cd
"Something To Remember"
Originally the Almost Paradise CD was going to be titled after his composition "THESE ISLANDS" and was to have a different cover. Danny renamed the album shortly before it's release and changed the cover. Now Almost Paradise has been given yet another cover "05 from what is posted on Amazon.
"These Islands" was first released as a track on Danny Couch's 1997 album, "Almost Paradise." It was recognized for the song's potential value as a theme for a visitor-oriented marketing campaign and so it was part of the Miss Universe Pageant in 1998. The song was more than two years old when Danny re-released it as single but HARA considered it "new." Sometimes known by it's verse. "Have You Seen These Islands" or "This is Aloha" a well-written and always will be a beautiful ode to Hawaii, is currently still found at the top of the charts, and among the most requested songs both in the islands and with those island music lovers here on the mainland, as well as heard around the world.

International music review IT IS PARADISE
While on our honeymoon, my wife and I cherished a splended evening at a Luau on the island of Kauai. During the Luau, we happened to here "These Islands." Not knowing who was singing that song, we ventured out the next day in search of the answer. We stumbled upon a vendor selling various types of music. The man knew exactly what we were looking for. You don't know how powerful that song is until you hear it. The entire CD is great, but "These Islands" can carry you right back to Hawaii no matter where you are in the world.

International music reivew Great CD!!
It was a really good cd. But I am actually writing this review because i want to know which trance albums are the best. So if anyone can reply please do.

International music review This is not house, its TRANCE
Some people are really ignorant, and shouldn't be writing reviews like the guy from Israel. He's right, this is one of the best songs ever, but it's a trance song, remixed by the trance legend Ferry Corsten. Give this a spin and you won't regret it. Truly a classic.

International music review Barber's Adagio for Strings [WEA Germany] ~ William Orbit
I remember quite distinctly the first time I heard this song. I was sitting in my brothers volvo with some of his friends and I was simply blown away by this song. I was like thinking, who made this amazing song and where can I buy it. This has to be one of the best trance tracks ever made and it is a remix of Barbers adagio for strings. The intro is great and is a nice build up for the slow strings and then we get an amazing mix of electronica and the string section. I love the base line in the begining and the drum sound is also great. This is a great track to dance to and I feel myself moving in my seat even as I listen to right now. The sounds have been maticulously chosen and add a nice layer to an already great track. Then it slows done and we hear the strings and it is so serene and nice. Then we get an awesome mix of the strings and the electronic sounds. That can just be said to be tremendous and I think that Orbit has created a trance track for the ages. This is a one of a kind track. I love it so much.

International music reivew Don't buy it for the interview
I admit to being a rabid enough Doors fan that I would buy a collection like this just for the interview with Ray Manzarek (& I don't even like him that much). Word of warning to others like me: There Is No Interview! The cardboard sleeve surrounding the cd case says there is, but without that this European version is the same as the Canadian one - "Roadhouse Blues" footage but no interview. Other than that & the usual complaints about not including "Wild Child", or putting in "Mosquito" instead of "Tight Rope", this is about the best 2cd comp out there. "Legacy" has "Wild Child" but it wastes time on "The Celebration of the Lizard", which only people like me would really want. Eventually we'll be able to make our own custom comps in the store (if they still have music stores), or on the internet like the Beastie Boys Anthology, but until then, not everybody will be happy. The 4 star review is cause they keep releasing these things for no other reason than to make money, & I'm still mad about the interview. The music is all 5 stars of course.

International music review Once those DOORS open....
I agree with all those reviewers saying that this is the set to have. For a 2cd package this has just about everything you'd need other than owning the individual cds themselves.

My only (small) quibbles are the track sequencing which is not chronological, and the ommission of 'The Soft Parade'and "Not to Touch the Earth'. But you know, there's not 1 track I would've removed from whats here.

I'd recommend this set along with the live Doors opus IN CONCERT. Short of buying all the single cds, this pair would do the job nicely, with the IN CONCERT version of 'Not to Touch the Earth' in its proper setting within 'Celebration of the Lizard'.
CD 1 is 77+ min, CD 2 71+ min...and need I add, stellar sound too.

International music review Uncensored Doors Album
This is an amazing album. Like others have said all the studio albums are covered. Peace Frog, which on another Doors compilation album is not included is on this import. The obscure songs you don't hear on radio are easy to find on here. The best feature on this album (I think it is pretty cool) is that on "Break on Through" You can hear Jim say 'high'. It sounds like he is saying "she gets high". On ALL radio versions of this song 'high' is omitted. I am not sure why. There are a lot worse things in music!?!?

International music review An all-time favourite
If you stumbled across this artist while checking out bands you like, then chances are you will like this album too.
It is the best of the genre, whatever the genre is. Way too good to be placed in a single-word category or even to compare him with others of his ilk.
The subtle beats, lush synths, delightfully simple acoustic guitar and of course his whispery vocals all create a world that you want to live in. Yes, its mellow, but it also gallops along when the situation warrants.
Guaranteed to be the sole occupant of your headphones for a month. A fine example of bedroom musicianship.

International music review Very impressed
As a fan of Damien Rice and Coldplay, I tripped upon this release by accident. It's not a surprise to me that this release has slid past the views of America's punk/pop/rap infested genres. This cd is not for everybody. If this is your type of music, I guarantee that you will embrace this cd for the masterpiece that it is. Buy it. Five stars, hands down.

International music review Kitt is something special
I saw David Kitt about a year ago in a small bar in London and walked away a changed man. One of those special, unexpected live performances you only come across maybe once every five years or so if you're lucky. I was ecstatic to see that he is now opening for Starsailor and Moldy Peaches, and that his cds are becoming available here in the US. As good as all the songs are here though, he has one called 'Saturdays' that is not on either and I think it is easily his best. It nearly put the entire room into a hypnotic state. Really fantastic.

International music review A must Have
Besides that fact that i am madly in love with the song Breathless i think this is a must have single. The bonus tracks on this cd are heavenly. When you hear Head In The Air you'll feel as though your in a dream. Andrea has a voice of an angel and whether your a corr fan or not (or whether you like breathless or not) This is a must have! The bonus tracks make it all worth it.

International music review A CD single as should always be!
Even though I don't like the song "Breathless" and critized it several times, the other two sons made the single excellent so I rate it 5 stars and here is a shourt description of those special bonus-tracks:

Judy - a ballad sounding a bit like Hurt Before about a girl named Judy who has tragically fallen in love. By the way, did you know that The Corrs used to have a doggie whose name was Judy? I think that the songs was named after her;-)

Head In The Air - this song reminds me Give Me A Reason, but this doesn't matter. It is excellent. When I decide to go on a long, long way by car one day, I'll make a CD compilation and this song won't be missed for sure ;)

International music review The 5 Star Rating is For the B-Sides
The 2 B-sides on this single are 5 star brilliant. "Head in the Air" and "Judy" are everything a Corrs' songs should be--a wonderful melding of pop and traditional Irish influences. So, for those 2 songs you should buy the single.

By contrast, "Breathless" is a dreadful song that deserves zero stars. The lyrics are horrid and the music is a synthentic mess. How this song became popular I'll never know.
