i just saw overkill again monday nite 1st time since i saw them at this show man they still put on one hell of a show they are still today one of the best remaining metal bands out there distrebed,korn,linken park all should take note this cd is the way overkill sounds live raw and fast great if you,ve never seen then you must i,ve been a fane since 83 seen them 17 times one of the best live bands to see out there now yes i,m from cleveland overkills second home they love us can,t wait till they come back here this cd kicks ass and brings a lot of good memories with it for me as bobby says if not for us there would be no overkill were a diying bread metalheads this band keeps it alive they truely love there fans this cd is a must for every overkill collection new and old fans alike

As great as this concert is on CD, it was even better being there. I went with 4 friends and spent most of the time in the mosh pit. It was my first real introduction to this band. Up until this point I only knew "Powersurge". Afterward I became I fan for life, and they have only gotten better.(A rarity in the world of metal). This CD has a special place in my collection.

If your an Overkill fan, and like there Studio stuff, you'll love their live material, they play all there songs faster then the studio recordings, and there all very nice.

Well to put it bluntly, this is probably the best Overkill Live CD too date, i mean there other ones are good too, but this has the most tracks, and good one's at that. Pretty much the whole CD is good.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this CD, if your a long time, or new Overkill fan, and haven't ventured into there Live material, your missing out on some very good stuff. So Buy this CD, you won't regret it.

Salvatore Adamo is one of the best singers ever. His music is eternal! What a great joy to get this CD with 20 of his greatest hits! I love all of them, masterpieces, one after another! 30 years ago (in 1974),I had the chance to see Adamo live on stage, in Bucharest, Romania. It was a dream come true! Now, after 30 years, I get this great CD! I recommend it to everybody, even to those who do not speak French. Music is the language! Alice Damian

I resisted checking this band out for a while, along with Ulver, and I'm not sure why. Maybe it was the mixture of electronics and metal, which I thought was a combination that rarely worked very well. Little did I know what I was missing-Ulver instantly became one of my favorite bands, and although I don't like Dodheimsgard quite as much, they still managed to blow me away. The main thing about this album is the guitar riffs, which are harsh, huge, and very complex-- there's a bit of industrial, black and death metal in them. The more fast-paced black metal ones are particularly impressive. The vocals are pretty cool, too, delivered in kind of a harsh carnival style. Unfortunately, I'm not that fond of the electronic/ industrial parts of this album. The electronics are produced in a very cold way, which causes them to clash with the guitars and prevents them from really becoming part of the music. I think they work well in the slower, more jazzy parts, but when mixed with metal I think the combination sounds a little too busy. Ulver keeps their electronics pretty spare, and on those occasions when they mix it with metal, I think it works much better and makes for a more enjoyable listening experience. There's always something to complain about in avant-garde music like this, though, since they're trying out all kinds of new things, and invariably some experiments work better than others. Overall this album is among the best that I've heard in quite some time. I'm eagerly anticipating their new one.

Although I am reviewing this album more than 5 years after its release. Its truely a masterpiece, combinining industrial/black/death/electronica into one album. Out of all of the Moonfog stuff, this is the best next to Fenris's side projects it reminds me why I got into metal to begin with, to tune out of this mortal society and into the murmurs of geometrically inspired biomechanically demons

with every dodheimsgard album there's a mutation happening with the band; along with "monumental possession", this is my favorite DHG album. here, the band have mastered the instrumental complexity that was present on 'satanic art' and aldrahn's vocals are vicious and completely 'popeye-free' (on Satanic art, his voice seriously annoyed me and was downright silly). every new listening unveils a new facet of the track you're hearing; mindblowing arrangements put you at the mercy of inhuman, precise drumming power, disturbing riffage and bass lines, all at the service of a demented vocalist who screams and growls like his life depends on it.
my favorite track has got to be "shiva interfere" having the most insane break i've ever heard: at the 6:59" mark the song breaks into a militant rythmic that would make Samael die from envy; the riff's power is immense and aldrahn sounds more menacing than ever. hands down, my favorite dodheimsgard song and one of my all time favorite tracks.
fans of Ved buens Ende, Arcturus, Aura noir, the new Thorns album and Mayhem's grand declaration.... are urged to try this one on!

I second all the rave reviews featured above. However, I should add for the record: this CD is sometimes labelled (as mine is) as "IMMORTAL SOUNDS: A Musical Journey Through Ancient Egypt", published through Antenna Audio, Inc., CA. I found the recording at the New Orleans Museum of Art when a large travelling exhibit of Egypitan art and artifacts was on display. The music served as the background for the audio guide (under narration by Jeremy Irons) and was sold in the gift shop with the tour's other goods. I was trying to find info on the CD, and when I couldn't find it under that name, I got redirected to this entry. I thought I'd just clarify! :o)

But yes, indeed - beautiful, serene, and indeed ethereal music!

Ambient Egypt brings ancient Egyptian music to life.
I would rate this CD as highly as these other ancient Egyptian music reconstructions, Michael Atherton`s Ankh and Ali Jihad Racy`s Ancient Egypt. In my opinion the strengths of this CD are the use of authentic reconstructed instruments which have as Irvine states: "the potential to create new music".

A masterpiece in instrumental music replicated from Ancient Eqypt.

How could I ever forget? How could I, her number one admirer, make such a mistake? Wow, do I have a moment to share.

After a very long search on the internet, I found Lissette's web page. I was so thrilled. As I typed a message for her, I trembled. Due to my uncontrolable exitement and trying to make sure that I expressed my true feelings as well as pleasure to have listened to her new release, I wrote the wrong title, AMOR DE LUNA, of the cd. How embarrassing, for the world and most of all her to read. I am suppose to be one of her many true admirers. What can I say except that the name of this cd is AMOR DE LUNA and it is her BEST new release. But, I also need to share a quick story about how I first got this cd.

A couple of years back, I saw Lissette on a talk show with her family. She and her husband talked about their new releases. Well, I needed to buy them, NOW. They were no place in sight in my neck of the woods, so, I took the day off from work and went on a little well deserved escapade. I traveled about 200 miles to "Little Havana" in Miamai, Florida, a place I had never been to before. I got off my car, walked around the area, checked the sites, ate some delicious Cuban food, and found a little record store where I bought Lissette's AMOR DE LUNA and her husband, Willie Chirino's CUBA LIBRE.

Happy at last, I drove back home (200 miles or so) as I listened to this wonderful cd. What great company! What great therapy! It made me feel joyful, to say the least. Lissette's music is and has always been with me in the good and the bad. This was not the best time for me and I needed her music to fill me up, as it always has and does.

It brought me such pleasure to hear her sultry warm and endearing friendly voice once again with new fresh lyrics and melodies. She has such wonderful taste. She is my LADY OF SONG.

ENCANDILADA is so inviting, AMOR DE LUNA is romantic, CUANDO ME FALTES......what can I say (she never will), LA ETERNA DANZA is musically magical, and PARA SIEMPRE brings tears to my eyes. Such a beautiful song and such a touching rendition with her daughters makes me feel proud. SOS HASSIM is cute, BELLO IDIOTA is powerful (it kind of makes me chuckle), QUIERO HACER CONTIGO EL AMOR is sensual, and CAMPO DE BATALLA is honest and direct. But my favorite is REGRESARE. It brings me tears of happiness every time I listen to it.

Lissette's music has always been my faithful companion in the good and the bad of my life's journey. She brings me much joy and light as she picks me up. To think that I know she will always return and never disappoint me always brings me a smile. Because throughout the years, she always has.

I can hardly wait for her next release from her successful concert at the Teatro de Bellas Artes in Puerto Rico. A concert that I sadly missed but read as well as heard great wonderful things about. I know that the cd will be another triumphant return for my "Lady of Song, Lissette". She will return with REGRESARE.

I am so anxious just waiting for this new release, her next music venture. Meanwhile, I'll continue to relax with AMOR DE LUNA.

Lissette is a singer in a class all by herself. For years she has been delighting her fans and she just keeps getting better and better. Amor De Luna is one of her best work to date. Her voice is better than ever. BELLO IDIOTA has to be the best track in the c.d. it's powerful lyrics and music make it a classic.

I have just obtained a copy of 'Amor de Luna' on the recommendation of a friend and have found it to be simply wonderful. The artist's voice is full, flexible, filled with soul, playful, and in perfect pitch. While all the songs are good, cut 3 on the album (Cuando me Faltas) is one of the most beautiful balads I've ever heard, and I can't even speak or understand Spanish! This song should be broadcast widely, and I'm certain the public response would be excellent. Lissette is apparently thought of primarily as a 'Latino' artist, but her talent crosses most musical styles. She is very, very good, and this album is outstanding.

Both my Dad and I really liked this CD. It's not totally spacey and new-age but still has a magical quality--mixed with the interest of Celtic music.

If you enjoy sounds that are truly beautiful , pleasant and do in fact help the mind "slip through the veil of time", than Ancient Realms surely fits these sort of sounds. It is a wonderful CD and Jennifer Pratt-Walter is a truly gifted artist.

I Hope she does many more such works.

As a harp student I listen to this CD over and over to catch the phrasing of the melodies.
All tracks on the CD move one off into the special place that harps take us.

An excellent CD period, and "Mistica" makes for some amazing rumba ballroom dancing. What a find!

I bought this CD a year and I listen to it all the time. His musical (piano) technique is superb in addition he plays with much feeling. The music is unique and relaxful. Many of my friends want to know immediately who is the artist. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves and appreciates excellent music in era where rap music is the genre.

I can only say I have very rarely ever heard piano music quite so beautifully played. I would love to know more about him and if he ever gives any concerts. I have never heard of him before. The man is a brilliant pianist. I only see three CD's out there that are for sale. One of which is not in production any more. If there is anyone out there that knows anything about this wonderful pianist I would appreciate knowing. I'll keep checking his review section to see if there is a response to my question.

Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann (anyway, -place, -time) was a great hit back in the 80th went top ten for weeks and now...after it went top 10 twice from covers from other artists..NENA covers it herself and brings on KIM WILDE to have a hot 80s duo and believe it or not..europe has one 1 Hit Wonder less.. this track hit number 1 in Holland, Belgium and Austria and top 5 in Germany and Switzerland!! and the funny thing is...this version is just as good..if not better thank to the guitars and colab with Kim Wilde..there should be more of this kind of stuff!!!

I just wish Nena would sing English in the Single "Anyplace" version - why not?
Otherwise, I love the songs. The new version is great. But nothing can beat the old 7 minute original "Anyplace"or "Irgendvie" versions.

It involves a duet between Nena and Kim Wilde and is a combination of the new version of the German-language original( i.e. "Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann" ) and the new English-language counterpart( i.e. "Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime" ) sung by Nena and Kim, respectively. The radio version of this song features Nena singing part of the English-language counterpart, which does not happen in the album version. this group is cleary one of the best and least known ever! This group have crossed the lines of the typical merengue rythm. the lyrics and the musical compositions are so different and unique. These guys have a style and flavor that other groups don't have. I had the oportunity to see them live and "MY GOD" they are really, really good. their show is incomparable and their dance steps are a mix of the NY, flavor combined with hte true caibean Sazon. Good luck to you guys.

Ira Stein has been a creative and very individual musician since his first releases on Windham Hill. His work on Narada Records further matured his artistic vision and he is now taking a first step with this album, Bach Chorals, to continue his musical expression regardless of what the music industry might find acceptable at the moment. He comes from a musical tradition that many people may not be familiar with but that deserves recognition.The group Oregon (Ralph Towner, Paul McCandless, and others) lay an important foundation for Stein's musical discoveries and his latest explorations into the sacred world of Bach's Chorals shows that he is an artist that deserves to be watched and followed. He is a great musician, a free spirit and a very creative arranger. Keep an eye out for his music in the years to come...

I am Ira Stein's niece, and I have listened to all of his C.D.'s and been to many of his concerts at Yoshi's in Oakland, CA. I think all of his recordings are very good. I really like his new C.D., BACH IMPROVISATIONS. I am 11 years old, and I have enjoyed his music all my life. He plays for me when I visit him in Oakland from my home of 2 years in Portland, OR. He has been playing piano for over 25 years. He is really an example that if you love something and try hard at it, you will succeed.

I had the privilege to be present at Yoshi's the night this album was recorded. Everyone there was held spellbound by this music--which is classic and yet modern. Each piece begins with the Bach chorale statement and then these excellent musicians take the melodies present in every level of Bach and make concert jazz. My favorite is number four on the album "Hilf, Herr Jesu, lass gelingen," but the listener cannot go wrong with any of the nine numbers. The instrument combination of piano, cello and soprano saxophone is unusual to me, and I think it would surprise Bach also; but I also believe this is an exceptional way to get an appreciation of the beauty of the classical line while enjoying the modern presentation. The music is decorous and sensual at the same time--a most intriguing mix.
