La voz de Andrea es increible.. puede consquistarte en unas cansiones y hacerte reir en otras. Lo recomiendo mucho a todos aquellos que apenas empiezan a conocer el grupo. Muy buen trabajo.

After discovering Aterciopelados thanks to a friend a few years ago, I have become a huge fan of theirs and "Evolucion" is a great set of songs spanning their career. The range of emotions on this CD is amazing, from severe melancholy to sheer giddiness and everything in between.

I'd rate this group not just at the forefront of modern Latin music, but at the forefront of bands anywhere in the world these days. They create to the beat of their own drum, are incredibly unique, and somehow they make the music work to become extremely catchy and captivating to the listener. Not to mention Andrea's voice, which just sucks you into her soul.

Aterciopelados may be heading into new musical horizons, but that's expected - for them to grow, they can't sit and create the same songs over and over again. I play "Tanto Amor" repeatedly - it's got an amazing hook.

Definite recommendation to anyone looking to experience the best of the Latin alertnative rock scene.

Evolucion is a superb entr�e into the velvety world of Andrea Echeverri, Hector Buitrago and their co-conspirators, a world that reveals more and more of its resonant beauty the deeper one explores. If you don't understand any Spanish at all, this band will give you a reason to start learning. I hope and pray that they NEVER record a single word of English.

Wow. I have this CD in constant rotation in my car and at home. Marian's voice is as powerful as ever; the songs are essentially re-invented and updated by still wonderfully crafted. If you a longtime fan or new to the group's recordings, this CD is essential.

Instant Classic.
Yes, those are only re-makes of their old hits but done so exquisitely that it is hard to compare them to the originals. You won't find here a boring and so typical two minute bass line showed in the middle of a song - so we can call it a `remix'. Instead, you will find here a complete recreation of the original idea, only this time circa 2001.

Forever Pop is vibrant and powerful. And on "Sounds Like A Melody" you wish your amplifier could go all the way to `eleven'.

Extra / hidden track and a half (just like the one on "Stark Naked...") is a nice touch.

I first heard of this CD from KaZaA! I did a search for a song and the Forever Young remix (which does sound like Cher's Believe) appeared by accident. I downloaded it, fell in love with it, and scoured the Internet to find the source. To my amazement there was a whole CD full of Alphaville remixes. I bought it from Amazon.com's marketplace and I haven't regretted it a bit.

I've only had it for a week but I'd say my favorite songs are all except tracks 2, 5, 6, and 10; not that these songs are bad but the other ones are just so good -- I'm pretty sure these will grow on me though. Contrary to some sites track 13, the Eiffel 65 remix of Big in Japan, is not 14 minutes, it's only 3:30. There's a hidden remix, or two depending on how you look at it, of Jerusalem starting at 5:30. I don't know why Alphaville hid them, they're awesome! Much better, IMO, than the one listed, track 6.

I have pretty eclectic musical tastes and this CD is a perfect match for me. It moves from Cher sounds, the Forever Young remix, to spoiled brat enjoyment, the Jet Set remix, to 80s Sting-style rock, the Red Rose remix -- my favorite song BTW. Did I mention the Forever Young remix sounds like Cher's Believe?

Anyway, awesome CD whether you're an Alphaville fan or not.

I agree with the other reviewers of this C.D. It is an especially wonderful piece of music.
I think it is a combination of the traditional religious texts and melodies, plus the original Carlebach music. I find the solo piano somehow soothing and peace-making.
The music simply makes me happy. I love it.
I am listening to it now as I write this and it is the perfect prelude to 'Kabbalat Shabbat.'

Shoshannah's music is amazing, there is simply no other way to put it. I have never met anyone who did not connect with it. Your inner resources reveal themselves as the artist's gentle strains lead you deeper into your soul, toward tranquility and oneness. Certainly much better than any supplemental tranquilizer!

For me personally, this is Busta's greatest single.
It's so inventive and unique, both musically and lyrically, and the same goes for the crazy video.
I love the way the music from Psycho has been used in this song.
Overall, this is defintely one of my all-time favourite hip-hop tracks.

this has got to be a record breaker in hip-hop history. busta rhymes keeps breaking records every time he releases a CD. I would love to get his web page if it is possible so that I can e-mail him and say "big up,man you doing an excellent job". I really think he is the king of hip-hop.

This is a good Cd if you love Chayanne's songs and don't have all his cd's. All the songs are beautiful as he is. I enjoy listening to it over and over again.

I've been a die hard fan of this man since he was in one of the original boy bands, Los Chicos. I have seen him change from the nice clean cut guy he was until the MAN he is today. As a huge fan and I am and always been, this record is a grea way for you to learn and enjoy him the same way I do every day. El Dicho dice, "Nadie es Profeta en su Tierra" but I really beg to differ.

Great song "Y tu te vas" best of all, SO HOT!!!! You can feel it deep in your veins, especially if you know Spanish as a native speaker. Se siente muy adentro hasta la fibra interior y hace vibrar las venas. "Quisiera" is also great song. Ricky doesn't come close. In fact, his not the best Puerto Rico offers, he's just good looking (or, should I say gringo looking?).

This is one of the best songs I have heard in a long time. They are HOT and they can sing...Damn! Great combination!

This CD is a JAM....I love it all. Not only can they sing anddance but damn they look good...and I've been behind them for 7 yearsor better yet I've been behind ABEL for 7 years and man he's just all that. The other guys are cute too but ABEL is my PLATONIC HONEY...and his vocals skills have really come a long way....If you don't have this CD you must really go out right now and get it. U won't regret it.

I think this CD is tighhhhhht! All the songs are beautiful because they are sang with latin passion and by four of the hottest,nicest guys(I met them in Target,N.Hollywood) in the bussiness. I am positive they are going to win over the english market as they did throughout Latin America.

Stephanie is my cousin, and I remember when Cucanandy was getting started. I got to see them perform several times, but unfortunately I was very young and did not really appreciate the music at the time. However, I have recently begun listening to this album and have realized what a great experience on which I had been missing out. The three musicians are all exceptionally talented and create their own unique sound out of traditional influences. I listen to mostly metal, rock, jazz, and some hip-hop, but this is something different that I can thoroughly enjoy, with the family pride as an added bonus.

This is an excillent CD full of creative and exciting music. It is the best item in the whole world that you can get for...

If you are an Irish Dancer or just a fan of Irish music this is the CD for you! Cucanandy has played live at my previous Irish Dancing School's Parties. This CD is so close that whenever I listen to it I feel like they're really playing live!

This Cd is so amazingly good I would say it is Better than the beatles best album,(whatever that may be) this deserves to be the #1 album It's so good! Amazing simply mazing great gift too!

If this album does not become the theme for Carnival 2001, I will not go to Antiqua this year. ALLIGATOR and CONCH SHELL ROCK are the Best!!!! Don't miss this CD!!!

I listened with amazement! Onyon Art makes some great music for those of us who appreciate clever lyrics coupled with wonderful new world music. I got transported into a whole new word, and I felt like being on vacation.

Thanks for setting me straight. I always thought that was Nicky Hopkins on piano.A great mini-orchestral epic in a quasi-prog vein.

This is a brillant album that grows on you with each listening, and one of the few that stand out after years, (even decades, ya?) Being partial to stride piano, I LOVE the presence here of Andrew Newman, and will never forget hearing Something in the Air for the first time while driving to the dentist. That voice! That piano! compelled me to switch directions, and head immediately for my musical maven at the local music store. Despite my inept attempts to sing the lyrics, my friend at Mr B's for Music instantly identified Thunderclap Newman and sent me home with Hollywood Dream, toothache forgotten. Even with Something in the Air's anthem status, the rest of the album definitely holds up. Hollywood Dream is a solid musical experience which gets under your skin as the tunes roll along, with all the musicians contributing to *flow* and continuity. As its name suggests, this album conveys a reel Hollywood Story; one to be enjoyed repeatedly over time.
I don't know that Something in the Air was in Magic Christian, but it most assuredly was featured in the film Strawberry Statement, an OUTSTANDING soundtrack that is all but impossible to get these days. After seeing a used tape of it on Amazon for an amazing 89 bucks, I finally found my CD on eBay. Today, the SS CD is offered on Amazon at a pricey $49 bucks for a water damaged copy; $60 bucks for a decent one, and worth it! Both CDs are great and both are highly recommended.

Mostly known for the hit single "Something In The Air," the Pete Townshend produced 1969 album "Hollywood Dream" by Thunderclap Newman is a power pop masterpiece. Thunderclap Newman features barrelhouse, saloon style pianist Andrew Newman, guitarist Andy McCollough (who would later join Wings) and vocalist, drummer James "Speedy" Keen (who wrote "Armenia, City In The Sky" for the Who in 1968 on their "Sell Out" album). Townshend, apart from producing, also contributes his fantastic bass work to this album which, despite Townshend's presence, actually resembles the early work of The Band or maybe even Alex Chilton's Big Star (I don't doubt that certainly these guys were an influence on Chilton)rather than the Who from that period. Your classic record collection is certainly incomplete without this classic album.
