International music review UNO DE LOS MEJORES TRABAJOS DE SANDRO

International music reivew I give it 4 stars
Nek is definetly one of Italy's most promising talents. His voice sounds like Sting's, but his music is not jazzy. On the contrary, it's very pop, lots of guitar, and real romantic. I bought the album in italian because I wanted to hear the real thing. If you want to buy this CD you will not be dissapointed. Keep up Nek, we love you.

International music review I have been trying to find this CD for years
I lived in Germany for two years and really got into Nek there. I loved Laura Non C'e and wished that I had bought a copy of the CD that it was on when I lived there. I have been trying to get hold of a copy for years - but couldn't remember the title of the CD. Now thanks to Amazon I have one and can listen to it to my hearts content.

The overall album is excellent, brilliant, it makes you want to go and sign up for Italian classes on the spot! Laura Non C'e is my favourite and there plenty of other tracks to get you dancing around the room as well -it even has my one year old daughter dopping too! I would recommend this CD to anyone who likes to get into something a little bit different. It's just a shame that we don't have access to more music like this in the UK instead of the typical boy band teeny rubbish which is constantly churned out by the music industry in the name of popular music.

International music review BRAVISIMO!!!!
TRUE ITALIAN MUSIC. IF YOU ENJOY ITALIAN MUSIC YOU MUST HAVE THIS CD. NEK HAS A VERY MASCULINE SEXY VOICE AND HIS MUSIC IS JUST SIMPLY THE BEST!

International music review Buy This CD
My niece brought this album from France. I have played it to complement many moods. The ethereal music both inspires and comforts this listener.

International music review Great Music
I first heard a cut from this CD played on the CBC radio network and I knew I had to own this work by I Muvrini. Only cut 12 has English lyrics sung by Sting, but that does not take away from the power and emotion of this CD. What a great work. Buy it.

I tried to determine why there are two listings of "Leia" at Amazon.com, but I could not find out what the difference is between the two recordings other than dates of release. I own this copy of "Leia" and I recommend this recording to anyone that loves music beyond the "pop" scence.

International music review i muvrini will change your attitude towards music
I first heard (experienced) i muvrini on a festival called Oerol on the Dutch island Terschelling (where I live). I really didn't know what happened to the audience. It was like hypnosis. The music is very special, inspirating, emotional. Leia is the greatest album I ever heard.

International music review Like A Prayer
Madonna has done it again, and this is my all-time favourite song, it's a classic. The best mix is the 12" Extended Remix, which was the version the album version is based on, so I love it. The 12" Club Version and Act Of Contrition - 7" Remix/Edit are also good. Act Of Contrition was a weird song, but it was rather humourous and I enjoyed it nevertheless.

International music review Great Club Mixes
If you at all like this song (which is probably the case if you've made it to this page), you should definitely buy this CD. It has a couple of great mixes of "Like a Prayer" on it. I first heard a DJ playing it at a party, and I knew I had to have it on CD. Basically, these versions add some neat effects to the songs. Madonna's later CD singles have a lot of musical innovations to the songs and borrow lots of different rhythmic styles. She didn't do that with this single, but it's still as good. The "Act of Contrition" single is a little strange, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

International music review TRUST ME...you want this CD
"Like A Prayer" is her best song and if you think that dull, tinkly recording on "Immaculate Collection" is good, you haven't heard anything! This import CD is simply the best version of this pop classic--sounds like it was released yesterday!

International music review The Look Of Love Is Definitely In Madonna's Eyes
The Look Of Love was Madonna's 18th single to be released in the UK in December 1987. The song peaked at No.9 in the UK, and was Madonna's lowest-charting single since Borderline way back in June 1984. The Look Of Love is a very underrated Madonna song, but not surprising considering that it peaked rather low and spent only 7 weeks on the chart. The song was also the third of three songs to be taken from Madonna's "Who's That Girl: Original Soundtrack."

The Look Of Love opens with a very mysterious and serious beat. It sounds very dramatic and Madonna begins her singing after only ten seconds with the lines, "Should have left you standing right where you stood. Should have let you go, should have had the sense to know. Like a train you'd come, and I'd lose my place. Now I'm on this trip, I took a fall from grace." Like many of Madonna's songs, the verses have a simple rhythm to them that are actually very catchy. The chorus then kicks in instantly with, "No where to run, no where to hide. From the look of love, from the eyes of pride. Nowhere to go, no place to run. From the look of love, now I've come undone." The second verse and chorus then move in swiftly, all in the space of just over 40 seconds. We then get a bridge, in which Madonna sings, "My conscience is clear I know right from wrong. That's a lie, I know nothing except that you're gone. But there's more to learn from the look in your eyes. That trip round this world, the stars in the sky." The song then has an amazing instrumental, which, although brief, makes your pay full attention to this great ballad.

The video to The Look Of Love is rather laughable. We don't actually have a video to the song, but just some stupid clip from the film which the song was taken from, Who's That Girl in which Madonna starred. There's no talking in this clip, but the song just plays over the scene. This song charted pretty low in the UK, and I think a proper video would've made it a much bigger hit. Anyway, I think this is a great ballad from Madonna, and while not her best of the 1980's (Live To Tell and Crazy For You run circles around it), it's still a great song which should've received more recognition than it actually did.

International music review Love this song; maybe I'm kinky
Love don't live here anymore is one of my top ten favorite songs.
There is an exploration of the existential in Madonna's work now that shows a definitive maturity. I think that the ability that sets Madonna apart the most is not simply being someone who manipulates media well but in truth two things: One, she's not a big fan of TV or indulging in the media, beign a puppet to it in watching it. Two, Marianne Williamson talks about that people who become legends do so because they tap into the concept of what the human consciousness is available to, needing to develop and that rings within all of us. It is that work that interests the rest of us.

    International music review Great Album
this cd is good. The look of love reminds me of something that should be on the "like a prayer" album. "love don't live here anymore" is an okay track, and "i know it" is a good one as well. It sounds like something from the middle ages with the instrument she used...The CD is a great one, buy it.

International music review El Rey es El Rey
Just try to sit still while listening to this fine collection of salsa from El Rey! If you only own one Tito Puente CD, this should be it.

International music review Great Album by "El Rey De Timbal"
I have been a fan of Tito Puente for about 4 years now and I have to say this has got to be my favorite album of his because you can never stopping dancing when listening to this cd. My 3 favorite songs are Dejame Sonar, Celia Y Tito, and El #100. So if you are in the mood to dance to great latin music then this cd is for you. I highly recommend this album.

International music review Great Salsa DANCE Music
There's great salsa music and there is great salsa dance music. As any dedicated dancer looking for good music knows, you can't trust a non-dancer to tell what salsa music is great for dancing as opposed to just listening. As a dedicated dancer always in search of good dance music I can say without reservation that this is one of the best salsa dance CDs you can buy. It's a tribute to the late Tito Puente for his 100th full length album. Its got a great all star cast including Oscar d'Leon, Celia Cruz, Tito Nieves, Jose Alberto and others all backed up by Puentes infectious rhythms that make it impossible to sit still. My three favorites: Salsumba, El 100, and Dejame Sonar. The only song that's not suitable for salsa dancing is the Bolero Medley, but hey it's not salsa. The cuban son on the album is a good practice tune for beginners just getting the hang of the beat since it has a true salsa/son rhythm at a nice slow tempo. If your a dancer, buy it!

I can't wait for the next...

International music review Everyone should have one!
Maroon is an excellent cd by the best live band ever, the Barenaked Ladies. After the first few plays, you really begin to see the meaning in the songs as well as enjoy the music. Pinch me includes some of Ed Robinson's infamous rapping. Too Little Too Late and Tonight is the Night I Fell Asleep at the Wheel really get under your skin after a while. All the others are just really good songs. Buy it and see for yourself. Also try and see them live - absolutely brilliant :)

International music reivew Good CD, best for COGIC members and Clark Sisters fans
I'm finally starting to get more into gospel music via titles from my local library. COGIC [Church of God in Christ] artists have been a great inspiration to me in the past. Both the Clark Sisters and Walter Hawkins have written countless classic, inspired works. Twinkie Clark of the Clark Sisters leads this praise and worship oriented set. The choir is solid. The band is strong, and you get a cameo by Walter Hawkins in "When the Battle is Over", a rare big choir version of one of his better Love Center choir songs.

Twinkie is not afraid of mixing her gospel with the funk. "Leaning On Jesus" could easily be found on a Parliament album with different words. But there are also more traditional sounding choir tunes like "Wash Me Over Again". There is even a testimonial song "Accept What God Allows" that tells of a pastor's struggle to accept the loss of several of his church members.

Whether you find this a 5 star or a 3 star CD depends on what you think of COGIC style praise and worship and whether you think this set is better as a DVD or as a CD. Personally, given the emphasis on testimonial and some of the extended versions of the tunes, I think that this set is better as DVD. When Twinkie asks everybody to talk to their neighbor or when a preacher wants to dance, I believe that I would be even more moved if I could share in their experience in an audio + visual format. If I had a choice between purchasing this CD or going to my local COGIC church and making a generous donation in support of its ministry, I would choose to go to church. For many Clark Sisters and COGIC members, however, they will already be supporting a church, and I believe that this CD is aimed at these members and at choir leaders within the COGIC church.

Certainly this CD is worth listening to and I recommend it for those interested in COGIC style praise and worship.

      3.5 stars

International music reivew The Best V.M. in a While......
After "Ironias" was released, I felt that the quality of Victor Manuelle's releases went way down. A good song here and there, but for the most part a lifeless and tiring repetition of the same sound over and over and over....... It was great for a while but I got tired of it! I stopped being excited about him having a new release. I thought he'd never release another good album. I'm happy to say Mr. Manuelle has proved me wrong.

It took me a while to pick this one up. A friend loaned it to me, and it sat on my Cd player for a month. I was very pleasantly surprised when I finally put it in! I returned it and got my own copy. At last, something fresh and different from Victor Manuelle! For once most of the songs have their own unique sound. A problem even with albums like "Ironias" was that almost all the tracks sounded alike. This is still straight up Salsa Romantica. But he's added a harder edge/more up-beat element to several tracks. Its a nice change from his normally uber-romantic soneos/style.

Please note I am NOT part of the "Victor Manuelle is the greatest" fan club. But I still definitely recommend this album. Get this album and "Exitos de Victor Manuelle" and leave the rest of 'em to the V. M. groupies.

International music review Un sonero de hoy con un sonido de ayer
This album by Victor Manuelle is throw back to 60's / 70's sonero style salsa that became so popular in New York in those years. It has the flavor of yesteryear with some acoustics and musical arrangements of today's salsa nuances. Right from the start the album was convincing and right through to the end the album kept delivering a high standard of songs which is so characteristic of Victor Manuelle. This is definitely a different style by the "sonero" who has paved a convincing career path over the years. However, this salsa is in a class by itself. There is no other album of his to compare it to. It's very unique and truly outstanding. Give it try....y no tienes que preguntarle a luna. This is a wonderful album indeed!
