My two year old daughter loves this collection of videos. She also has volume one and watches both of them over and over. She became a fan at the age of 16 months, although her father and I never listened to Reba before!
She sings the songs with Reba and takes out her instruments so she can play along. We now watch and sing along with her.

This DVD and the Vol I are a must for all Reba fans, it is a compilation of all the videos that were produced to support her vast array of hits. CMT has been such an important part of the promotion of the modern country star and so great effort went into the production of these videos, they are short stories set to music. If you like Reba's music especially as a non US resident where you cant see the videos on a regular basis, this has to be added to your collection.

Must own for any Reba fan

I absolutely adore Kurt Elling, but oh my goodness.....he sure is pitchy on some of these songs. It's actually painful for me to listen to "A Time For Love" and "She's Funny That Way." He is sharp about every 5th word. Is this live? Couldn't they fix it in the mix?
Then I come upon "Too Young To Go Steady" and it's the best version I have ever heard. Almost all on pitch.
Mind you folks, I have bought EVERY one of Elling's CDs, this being my latest purchase. He is my current absolute favorite male singer. He knocked Mark Murphy right out of the ball park for me.
From listening to his whole repertoire I think he's improved tremendously in the past 11 years.
On his new CD - Night Moves - he's almost perfectly on pitch on every song.
Back to this CD - On My Foolish Heart - off key again.
But when he did recorded it again for "Live In Chicago" it is brilliant and perfection. Plus it's a 12 minute version. "Apart" as in "fade and fall apart" is the only sharp note I found.
I still wouldn't give up my copy of "This Time It's Love" for anything.

Own this album!!

If you don't own this album - you need to. The musicianship is on par with the jazz masters - this is bound to become a historic album. Kurt Elling is the new jazz legend we have been looking for and his musical legacy will live on just like John Coltrane and Miles Davis. The proof is in the listening - buy this album!

Kurt Elling and Laurence Hobgood are in some ways like Hal David and Burt Bachrach with a few exceptions: Kurt sings infinitely better than either Hal or Burt and Laurence plays and arranges better than Burt. But boy, do they collaborate beautifully! The best song on the album: maybe "Foolish Heart". With Raynor, Onderdonk, Brad Wheeler, Eddie Johnson and Johnny Frigo,(Kids: he's 87 but sounds like 27!)folks should buy this for the great Chicago jazz musicians who have helped in advancing Kurt's great career. Really a great album but not Kurt's best effort(MITA) is the finest vocalist albulm of 2003, YES it is!

If you love jazz vocals...BUY THIS ALBUM

Kurt Elling is genius. He has a very classy but innovative style that will give you no choice but to play this album over and over. His originals are stunning and his versions of the jazz standards he has selected for this collection are creative without being over the top. I have owned this CD for two years now and it is still in high rotation in my collection. No matter what mood you're in, this album will suit it.

I became aware of Tegan and Sara through THE CON. After watching THE CON- THE MOVIE a couple of times, I was hungry for more and came across IT'S NOT FUN. DON'T DO IT. I was struck by how different they appeared in the older DVD. Sara seems so much younger than Tegan and almost like someone who needs to be taken care of. Unlike the Sara of TCTM who tells Tegan off at least three times. DON'T DO IT . . . starts with them in concert. Missing is the in-between song banter but it is still a good mix of getting to know their older material and seeing them play live if you never have. The whole CD is like their past history and THE Con is like the beginning of a new chapter.

Shut the f*@$ up Tegan!

When I bought this the only CD of Tegan And Sara's I had heard was So Jealous. So, of course, I was quite pleased with the song selection. However, since then I've heard everything else they've done and their set really kind of disappoints me now. Make no mistake, they showcase their talent perfectly throughout the show but come on, any fan of T&S is sure to have a few gripes about the setlist. Also, while never having seen them live (regretfully), hearing the banter between songs, like one reviewer said, would have been great. Never fear though, the various behind the scenes footage is worth the price alone and, honestly, serves as my favorite part of this DVD.

It's Not Fun, Don't Do It! is one of those music DVDs that has so much going for it that you'll be able to watch it quite a few times before you even begin to feel bored with it. Whether you're watching the show, either one of the behind the scenes features, the music videos, or even the puppet shows, you'll never once find yourself checking your watch or anything else. Beginner or longtime fan, It's Not Fun, Don't Do It! is sure to have something for all types of fans.

This dvd focuses and features Tegan and Sara performing one of their concerts live. The only disppointing thing is that all of their famous live on stage banter was edited out. They explain why on the dvd at some point. Though the live concert performance is considered the main focus, what the fans will enjoy the most is an movie about being "On Tour" that is partly directed by Tegan Quin herself. Its a short little movie of the whole band on tour, what they do in their down time such as waiting to be checked into hotel rooms or waiting at gas stations while gas is being refilled, other fun stuff the fans and the people never usually get to see. Fans can get to know their favorite band on a more personal level and not just know the music. Another feature of the dvd that will be a favorite for the fans is the "Making of So Jealus" movie, this is again like the "On Tour" movie and just really gives the fans a chance to get to know the sisters Quin more. Not only this, but the "Making of So Jealous" movie has optional commentary from Tegan and Sara themselves. And if you think thats not enough, they also include all five of their music videos (up to the point of the finishing of the dvd) and each video has optional commentary from the sisters Quin also. Overall, just perfect for any hardcore fan to own, and this dvd is also a great way for the new or casual fan to learn more about the band. Overall, a real treat.

I love Tegan and Sara.

Not as good as the dvd included with The Con. The production quality isn't as great, and there's even more bickering. And the live portion edits out all of their stage banter! That's what we all love about Tegan and Sara!
But overall, if you're a T&S fan, it's worth your money. I can't get enough! I love these girls!

Tegan and Sara's live dvd "It's not fun, don't do it!" is really good.

It contains a live concert with about half the songs off their latest album "So Jealous", and about 4 from the album before that "If it was you" and I think about 3 from their first album. I own the two mentioned but not their first one.

Anyway the live concert is great. The sound, visuals, and camera angles are perfect for you feeling that you are at the show.

There is also a cool "It's not fun, don't do it!" movie by Tegan and Sara about them touring. As well as a cool movie of the making of "So Jealous" their most recent cd.

There is also a cool about 30 min segment of pictures they have taken over the years touring and Tegan and Sara describing what they mean to them.

Also there are music videos from the album "So Jealous":

speak slow
walking with a ghost

videos from the album "If it was you"

monday monday monday
i hear noises

and a video of this song: living room, I am not sure what album it on. I assume the 1st one.

Here are the lengths of the segments:
1. Live concert: 45 min
2. "It not fun, dont do it!": touring movie: about 21 min
3. The making of "so Jealous": about 23 min
4. Photo Album: about 35 min
5. The Marionettes(little puppets of the band): about 12 min

Anyway highly recommended.

Later,
Kevin

It's hard to describe this double CD. A live performance of a great singer and a fine orchestra in a style of music that is of the 1920's and 30's. Music you'd see and hear live in Weinmar Republic portion of history that is particular to Germany of those times between two world wars. If it strikes a chord with you, you will find it compelling and thrilling to listen to as a remarkable piece of modern history. If you came from a home of European immigrants where foreign language music was heard, there is a good chance this will hit some buttons for you too. If you enjoyed seeing the film Cabaret this CD will be a good one to have.

It's a special orchestra and a special singer making this special music and it takes a special listener to enjoy it. If you are special in the ways listed above then this will probably be CD that deserves to be in your collection and you'll really enjoy it. Music is a funny thing, it hard to predict what someone will like, but this CD is great in its scope and delivery and is the finest example of the style described above. It's not for everyone, clearly but if you like old music of the 20's and 30's you'll probably dig this.

Max Raabe and the Palast Orchester was a very pleasant surprise>
As a fan of big band, swing, and 1930's music, Max's team surpassed
my greatest expectations.

He has a superb tenor voice spanning two octaves.
His band are very precise, very crisp, and very talented.

They make me want to learn how to sing and play the trumpet!!!

Heute Nacht Oder Nie (meaning "Tonight or Never") is a two-CD recording of Max Raabe and Palast Orchester's sold-out performance at Carnegie Hall in New York. The suave singing duo project clarity and energy into nostalgic hits from the 20's and early 30's. Songs range from Cuban rumbas to fast-paced foxtrots and courtly tangos. An utterly rapturous celebration of the most beloved musical styles of nearly a century ago, yet presented with the blood-firing enthusiasm and smooth, sensual appeal worthy of modern rock stars, Tonight or Never is a welcome addition to personal and library music CD collections and highly recommended.

A twist on the 'ol TS. I wake up a woman. Only I'm not the fem me, no, I'm HER. Whoa! Now I got what I wanted, I think, she's mine all mine, inside and out. Then, like all dreams, it goes further. I see ME, that's me alright, but I know, inside, it's HER. Switchero. And I'm thinking, OK, this looks promising! Finally!

But, no, no, no. Now it's ME rejecting HER, that is, ME rejecting ME.

The Amazon description only showed that "Dreams" was on the DVD. So I bought it. Then instead of that awesome video I get the "swticheroo" to some video I have never seen and don't care about.

The other videos are OK but that is not what I was looking for. Still can't get a copy of the right version of Dreams....

Charlotte has a wonderful voice for someone so young! Most Bel-Canto vocal instructers will tell you that your best singing years is the twenty year period between 40 and 60. Charlotte, although promising, has a long time to go before she gets to her peak! In the hands of the right vocal coach, she will be awesume.

I believe that as she grows and her voice matures, she will be an outstanding classical singer if the Hollywood types don't get her completely off in another direction.

Charlotte Church truly is the best and certainly has a voice of an angel.

This is worth owning to as is everything Charlotte Church comes out with. It as all of her songs that we're put out as singles and that was on the charts. No one can touch Charlotte Church at all her voice ranges higher than so many singers that she just will always be the top to me. Charlotte truly deserves to have this best of album and it is good to hear all of her music from the beginning up to some of her later stuff all on one terrific album.

I have heard of Charlotte Church, and had to check out this particular CD from a public library to see what all the buzz was about. Ms. Church's voice is so thin and lacks any resonance, it makes my flesh crawl listening to it. Who is the schmuck that signed this gal to a recording contract, thinking she actually had singing talent? The musical selections she attempts to sing here do not match her vocal style. Either that, or her vocal instructor needs to be fired! The only song in this set worth a tolerable listen is "The Prayer" in which she shares vocals with Josh Groban. The rest of the album may satisfy those who appreciate an immature singing style that is somewhat reminiscent of chalk screeching across a blackboard! No thanks Charlotte, I'll stick with Sarah Brightman, Celine Dion, or Judy Collins for an "easy on the ears" female voice and REAL talent!

I actually haven't seen this DVD, so i must defer to others who complain about the quality of the audio capture. As for the video quality, please - it's about the music. I originally saw this show in the '80s, on cable, and have been looking for it ever since. I haven't seen anyone else who mentioned that the session featured Bill Wyman on bass and Charlie Watts on drums (as in the Rolling Stones rhythm section). I don't really remember Phil Collins at all (not really sure he was there), and if Billy Ocean appeared, it was only as a brief featured number, not in an actual jamming performance, and certainly not the "main act". And, Stevie Ray pretty much only played rhythm guitar to back up Eric, watching him trade licks with BB (I think Eric backed off a little, which was understandable, given that BB was not in his prime any more, and it was, after all, BB's show). And, Paul Butterfield (yes, in his last recorded performance) seemed to be whaling away a lot more than we heard in the mix, which, yes, was not the best that one could have hoped. But, please folks, let's remember that some of the earlier Motown stuff sounded like it was produced in a can, but we still love that music. That's what we're talking about here. The all-star "band" (really, knowing who all is playing is just like being a kid in a candy store) really does deliver, within the constraints of the format. As for the female vocal performances, "Bad Etta" James is up first, and she really "tears it up", with a great performance. Then, Gladys Knight (regrettably, Pip-less) gives what has to be one of her best performances - at any rate, it sounds wonderful, and she appears to know she nailed it, because she looks absolutely radiant. But then, Chaka Khan gets up for her number... and starts out - I don't know, but to me, a little slurred - and she is absolutely phemomenal, unbelievable! Then, later, when all three women get into a "cutting contest", trading vocal licks in turn, it's really not much of a contest, to me - Chaka eats them alive, and, in my imagination, at least, it seems like the other women know it; their faces say they'll do their best, but they seemed to be in awe (as was I). So, who knows if it's just me - but you'll be able to decide for yourself, after you see it. I am SO glad to have finally found this.

To see Albert and Stevie Ray on the same stage - pure magic
Dr John & Etta James are awsome.
This IS an older concert so it is not DVD HD quality.
All the complaints about quality are BS.
This is a blues concert - not a slick MTV production.
Just great artists singing great songs.

I cannot believe the people complaining here about technicalities.

This performance is not available in any better quality, that I know of - so get it - yesterday!

My music and video collection is larger than I care to admit; and my age is older than I care to state, but I have never seen a better blues performance than this, not in the particulars (thought these are outstanding) as much as in the sense of the wholesomeness of it - the coming together of generations, black and white, uniting in celebration of the blues - very sweet!

The only downside for me is Billy Ocean, who isn't bad, but really not in the same league as BB, Clapton, Etta James, etc.

Warning, This is Poor DVD-R copy.

With Billy Ocean, Chaka Kahn, Gladys Knight, Etta James, and Phil Collins in the line-up, it's obvious the producers of this special were more interested in appealing to the R&B/pop audience than pleasing blues lovers. This makes me wonder if B.B. actually had complete say over who would be appearing in this concert. I'd also like to know why Etta James was given much more time on stage than the other stars??? Despite a little too much R&B for what was supposed to be a "blues" show, we do have a pretty nice selection of bluesmen here too with Albert King, Paul Butterfield, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, and of course B.B. himself who all deliver good performances although Stevie Ray doesn't get much of a chance to tear it up in this show.

With a few changes in the line-up, this show could have been a blues masterpiece. I would have replaced the R&B stars with Albert Collins, John Lee Hooker, Otis Rush, and Buddy Guy who were all alive and well in 1987 when this special was filmed. THAT would have certainly made this a real blues extravaganza to treasure! What we have here is still a pretty decent show however.

The highlights for me are a nice version of B.B.'s classic "The Thrill is Gone" with Eric Clapton swapping guitar licks with King, and the great Stevie Ray who takes the stage with his hero Albert King for a performance of the great blues standard "The Sky is Crying". Paul Butterfield joins them on harmonica and vocals and he gives a strong performance, although I did notice a few dirty glances he gives Stevie Ray during the song.

This is a nice show for R&B lovers, but serious blues fans will most likely feel a little let down. If you want a similiar show with better results, check out the DVD "A Tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan" which features fine performances from B.B., Clapton, Dr. John, and several other great blues stars including Robert Cray and Buddy Guy!

A real piece of Southern Rock history. I thought the audio was fine, especially given the fact it's over 30 years old. Also, for those who did'nt take the time to view all of "24 Hours at a Time", only the first few minutes of video is missing, the rest of the video is intact and awesome. If you are a Marshall Tucker fan, this is a must have.

Like most of the others, I was very disappointed in the sound quality of the CDs. The performance, however, was outstanding.

Been a fan of southern rock back to my High School days. 1969-73 They just don't make them like they used to. This is a must own if you like southern rock. Plus get the Charlie Daniels Volunteer Jam. Both are 5 stars.

Buy it for nostalgia and enjoy.

If you are a long time Tucker fan I recommend buying this for nostalgia if nothing else. Seeing the original members play together is a treat for any fan even if the sound and video quality aren't the best.......and they're not. The cd is an entirely different matter. Shout factory should have left well enough alone. The sound quality on these cds is down right pathetic. Stick to Capricorn recordings if you want really listenable recordings of MTB music.

Great band, poor audio quality.

I am a Marshall Tucker Band fan. I bought most of their albums when they were introduced and have purchased much duplicate music on CD's in recent years. I gave this concert disk set 2 stars because of the poor audio quality. Unfortunately the audio quality of the Carolina Dreams Tour '77 disk set is significantly less than that of the audio CD's containing the band's studio recordings from that era. I own a nice audio system and I appreciate good quality sound. If you have a similar opinion regarding audio quality, you will be disappointed with the disk set.

Before I knew who Rush was, a friend kept playing Exit Stage Left over and over on cassette. After awhile, I had to have a copy. This album is a classic of classic songs from Rush. All the songs rock and Rush is one of the few bands whose songs sound good live - not like some kind of twisted, stream of consciousness, we've played these songs a hundred times and we are REALLY bored crap like many other bands do. The breaks don't bother me either - what do you want, a track or two cut off to make room for another minute of clapping at the beginning/end of all the tracks?!?! Great album from a great band!

not what i had expected.

while Rush are still legends and the music on this DVD is not bad, all of the high caliber songs that are responsible for their fame (yyz, tom sayer) are commentated over during the length of the song, and broken up into bits and pieces while the guitarist explains this and that about touring and playing music with the band rush, I bought this DVD for a 15 hour drive from California and it was almost too boring to watch the whole thing. I would say maybe if you had a different motive than entertainment in making this choice.... that it might be held to a different opinion.

I bought this last year and I play it monthly. It is old school and the footage shows it. The quality of the recording is good for its time. This does not compare to Snakes and Arrows, but its old school mind you. I am glad that I found this and its excellent concert footage. Two thumbs up!

This DVD I've never seen before until I purchased it. However, I do have the CD, which I've listened to many times. Again, I hadn't listened to the CD for many years, and the chance to see the performances of the same songs I was familiar with was the main reason I bought the DVD. A great concert by Rush, and this one brings back memories of my days in high school in the early '80s. For any avid Rush fan, it is worth having. This DVD also preserves a phase of Rush's history (and reminds me of my own life history also).
