When I heard the news of Michael Jackson's untimely death I was at work & the whole floor was engaged in verifying if was true. When it was verified, one girl just completely broke down & I happened to be the closest to her, so I held her tenderly for a few. Comforting her seemed to ease my own pain. But I was still in Trippsville. How could this have happened? Yet I must accept it as the working out of Allah's Divine Will & Purpose. Michael Jackson's death will be the topic of conversation for the next few months if not years. As to the cause of Michael's death, we will have to wait for the coroner's report. I hope no foul play was involved.


Yes, he was a natural born genius. Yes, he was a critical component of what we call "POP" (BLACK MUSIC) today. But what is his true legacy? For me first it will always be the early recordings, although the later recordings are also astounding. Michael's songs connect you to raw emotion & authentic truths. That is why the people love him. Sometimes there are no words...it's a case of "SCENIC ECLIPSE" each song eclipsing the former, yet the former songs becoming standards in their own right. Standards that no one but Michael can do justice to. The mark of true genius.


Michael was one of the last truly great ones, in a long line of Black Musical geniuses, including Ray Charles, Quincy Jones, Sammy Davis Jr., Beethoven, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Eubie Blake, Mozart, Charlie Parker, Billie Holiday, etc., whose musical truths shone so brilliantly, than even in a racist world, they were able to make a connection based on their authentic musical genius.


Michael Jackson left a immense legacy, & will be sorely missed, but do not fret....there are even greater ones coming....Diamonds in the rough....coming from from the despised & the rejected, coming from the Womb of a Black Woman. They tried to destroy you Michael, because you dared to speak out against the racism you observed in the World & in the Music Industry perpetrated by both Jews & Anglos & their Black puppets, but they were unsuccessful. Don't worry, Jermaine will continue to sound that trumpet. Despite that, you still got the Beatles Catalog. My Man! Man makes plans, but Allah is the Best of Planners. Now Listen Michael, I'm looking at "THE MAN IN THE MIRROR" & I don't like long goodbyes, so just "BEAT IT" & "EASE ON DOWN THE ROAD" you know that you've "GOT TO BE THERE, and don't be "BAD" just "HEAL THE WORLD" & be a "DANCING MACHINE". Holla at "BILLIE JEAN" for me while you find your "CORNER IN THE SKY" & always remember "WHOSE LOVING YOU, Michael? We All Are. May Allah Bless You.

hrd to believe that Michael Jackson is 50 years old and talk about a Dynamic Multi Talented Artist? Motown has the 50 hits package to go along with the King of Pop turning 50. so much incredible music and at the center of it all the Great soulful Pipes of Michael Joe Jackson wailing and showcasing those chops that are timeless and the vocals and harmonys that have inspired and influenced a whole new generation of Artists. Michael Jackson is that Once in a Lifetime type of Artist and there will never be another one like him.classic songs and a Great Musical Giant.

I especially like the last track. Some of the songs aren't great, but for the most part this CD has more good songs than bad.

The CD is awesome. I enjoy listening to it while doing chores inside & outside of the house. It gives me happy feet.

Both the music and lyrics on this CD are just as good, if not better than, previous CDs.

This is Musiq's best album. As a long time fan I can definitely see his maturity. Songs like Ifuleave, Deserveumore, Loveofmylife, Moneyright, Someone, Iwannabe & Sobeautiful really show his appreciation and respect for women and I am completely in love with it. The whole album from beginning to end is just so HOTT. You will NOT be disappointed in getting it. If you are a true R & B lover this is the album for you. I am telling everyone I know to get it.

Musiq Soulchild has always been more mature than most of his contemporaries, namely when it comes to his lyrics. The subjects he sings about are just what women want to hear uttered from the male species. Songs such as "Love", "Justfriends" and Dontchange" are perfect examples. His lyrics are so sincere and beautiful, any mature woman can't help but appreciate his lyrics. I have enjoyed all of his albums and "OneMyRadio" is definitely no exception. This is a fine work, complete will the infusion with all types of music like R&B, gogo, reggae and soul.

Musiq chooses some great artists to collaborate with such as the fantastic Mary J. Blige and the incredible Damien Marley. Musiq and Mary collaborate on a track entitled "Ifuleave" and while it is not my favorite moment on the album, the fact that two extremely talented artists came together and did a song is enough for me. There are lots of piano, bass and drum found on this track and both artists do very well. The hook is nice, also. Musiq tries his luck with reggae on the song that features Damien, "Iwannabe." Musiq knows just who to work with; they do a fine job. I like almost everything Damien does anyway. In this song, the guys are telling their new women that they want to be in their lives for more than a day or two. Great subject matter! One of my absolute favorite tracks is a ballad called "Someone." I had this song on repeat for a while! He does a fine job with the delivery and the lyrics are so touching.

If you are looking for an R&B album that speaks on almost every area of relationships and an album that is a bit different, please pick "OnMyRadio" up. Sure, it has the classic Musiq Soulchild sound, but he tries to be innovative on a few tracks, and doing that worked in his favor.

This Cd is the JUmp Off! It has a little something for any type of swagger! R:B, Hip Hop, Dance Hall. I love it better than his last two albums combined!

When I first heard Musiq was coming out with a new CD, I was excited. When his first single "Radio" dropped and I was highly disappointed. Then I heard him say this album would be different from his previous work. I was very skeptical. I didn't know what direction he was going in. But once I heard, "IfUleave" with Mary J, my hope was regained.

First off me being from Philly(UPTOWN BABY 72nd & OGONTZ)has no influence on my review. I will state nothing but the truth the way I see it. I have been a fan of Musiq from the beginning. With the exception of "Soulstar", each album was better than the last. And he continues that trend with "OnMyRadio".

As he promised, Musiq has come with a different sound than we are use to hearing from him. Of course he has his classic slow jams. The best being "So Beautiful", where he channels his inner Maxwell and sings the whole song in falsetto. "Deserveumore" has an old school style. He takes a chance with the uptempo "Money Right", but I actually like it. But all is not good. The reggae influenced, "I Wanna Be" ft Damian Marley seems out of place. And "Someone" is a weak, mushy ballad. But the standout of this CD is "Love Of My Life". Its filled with so much power. If you recently gone through a break up, it might bring you to tears.

Many artist try to do something different. Its an attempt to achieve longevity. Sometimes it doesn't work (Lyfe Jennings, Jaheim), but Musiq has found a way to stay fresh. Five albums in the game and he keeps getting better.

I was never really a big fan of Alicia Keys. Although, I did applaud her for trying to bring a bit of classical music into the world of modern day R&B. Anyway, I downloaded the album after there was alot of buzz about it. I was never a big fan of the singles that came out of this album, but the rest of the album is very good. There's alot of soul, jazz, and spunk that comes out in this cd. I personally think her 2nd second album is her masterpiece, but this one certainly does not disappoint. I think any fan of R &B will def. love this album this is a must have! Superwoman is the track that really stands out to me the most on this album. There's a few more tracks that are really worth your time. Go and buy it!

I expected more "hits" on this record but Alicia makes everything she does even seem like a hit-worthy song. Basically it grows on you because she is so great.

When you think of Alicia Keys, you think of an entire package. A 10 out of 10. The Girl has it all, extreme good looks, an abundance of talent and a beautiful personality, oh and she can act too. And i have been waiting for her to release another cd and yes i am loving it. Alicia Keys is back and she's done it again.

I loooved Alicia's debut, Songs in A Minor. I thought every track was great and i fell in love with her. Her second album, Diary of Alicia Keys, I liked tracks 1 through 7...7 being "Diary", the best song on that album. I really was not feeling anything too much after track 7 on that album...but i was still a huge fan. I saw her in concert after she released "Diary" and she was AMAZING. I will def make it a point to see her again in concert when she tours again. I am so PISSED i missed her this summer because i think this is her best work ever! Every track is a great song! She has a more mature raspy sounding voice and has mixed so many styles of music from I Need You to Like You'll Never See Me Again to Where Do We Go From Here to Superwoman, everything's so different and new. It's a perfect mix of fun upbeat songs ( Teenage Love Affair and Wreckless Love ) and lovely ballads ( Sure Looks Good to Me, Prelude To A Kiss, Tell You Something (my fav if i had to pick ONE)....I give every song on this album 5 out of 5 stars!

First and foremost The Blues Brothers Movie is a great cult classic in the same vein as Animal House, Spinal Tap, etc.. And the music is one of the central characters. This is the soundtrack that re-energized the careers of Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin and James Brown in the 80's. John Belushi and Dan Akroyd do an adequate job on their tunes while Charles, Franklin, Cab Calloway and Brown truly shine. Finally, through it all, the absolutely first-rate, crack, back-up band created a sound that can never be duplicated. With such veterans as Duck Dunn, Steve Cropper and that awesome Horn section - this soundtrack delivers greatly on a sonic level, if nothing else. If you haven't heard or seen the movie recently, pick this up for a great reminiscent ride!

"Blues Brothers" features two of the 70's best comedians, in the midst of a dancing frenzy, backed by the best (and most expensive) session musicians, in a celebration of rhythm and blues. The brothers don't just sing about a riot in cell block number 9, they LIVE IT! The talking introductions to songs, jokes, and repartee frenzy, again and again, into a crescendo of fun. Musically, the horn section gives the party a New Year's tone, the percussion section drives the tempo hard, like a drunk dancer, until the back-up singers lay the frosting on this cake. Jake and Elliot! Lou Marini! Big fun!

Excellent Song Track. Highly recommend this track for those who love danancing, especially if you were around during the'50's.

Soundtracks were really popular in the '80s and this one was no exception. The Dirty Dancing soundtrack was a childhood favorite, my mom used to play this album over and over again and I would dance like a nut to this timeless music. Songs like I've Had the Time of my Life, Hungry Eyes, Overload, Stay, Be My Baby, and Patrick Swayze's She's Like the Wind are the standouts. I love the film as well, great memories and incredible songs, I highly recommend this purchase!!

Watch out. You don't get all the songs on the album when it downloads. Of course you can't contact anyone at Amazon,so buyer beware.

I loved this cd. One quesation. Why was Lover Boy by Slivia and Micky left out. Just trying to find out why or where I can get it. Otherwise the cd is one of the greatest!

Great memories for those who enjoyed the 1980s movie and soundtrack! I had thought that I only wanted to hear and dance to the music again, but I now want to watch the movie once more as well.

I just keep playing this CD. I am about twice as old as P!nk and think this album is just fantastic. The beat is perfect, and suits her voice exactly. I also listen to lyrics and this CD is not lacking in that area either. There have been reviews of the specific songs already, but I just wanted to add my vote because she's really been clever to create such a great set of songs --- from the starting drum beat in My Vietnam -- to the lamenting tones in Family Portrait. 5 stars!

the condition was perfect. but the shipping was late. i got it in the mail 3 days after amazon said it would be there.

I would recomend this CD. Most songs are of the dance / pop style. Pink is still a bit young in sound and writing style but There are a few songs that show where Pink will be on her next CD which is more in the rock style.

Five stars for the CD itself. Had to knock off some stars because it took quite a while for the CD to arrive.

A very good mix of songs and artists. Good to listen while travelling.

I wanted a really upbeat mix from the 60s and even though the songs on this cd aren't bad, most of them are slower which wasn't what I was looking for for myself.

What a voice ... some songs better than others but all in all a pretty good cd.

WARNING: Listening to this album with someone that you even have remote feelings for may cause you to:

1.) Have one of the most intense love-making sessions of your life
2.) Fall deeply in love with that person
3.) Propose marriage
4.) Create a child or two
(All of these actions may not happen in the numbered order).

Like so many other reviewers have mentioned, this album is timeless and so good that I had to create a disclaimer for those who have yet to listen and feel this album. With that said, ENJOY!

Hey, I just found my CD by Maxwell and have not heard/played it in years...and all I can say is, "WOW"!! It is still good! and my favorite is still "Til the Cops Come Knocking"...WOW!

It will sound good 20 years from now or longer just as Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue" is timeless and eternal. This is a perfect storm of lyrics, arrangements, musicianship and vocal performance. No bombast here, just a lush tropical floating on a deep and soulful river of sound and pulsation, wild birds from verdant branches & blossoms, above the flowing waters, riffin' hot songs for your surrender.

R&B these days, save for a couple of artists has grown incredibly "similar". What I mean by that assertion is that everybody is doing the same thing. Jeremih proves to be another "good" addition to the R&B world, but even after listening to his solid debut, JEREMIH, one can't help but wonder if the singer will be able to separate himself from a saturated field of superb R&B artists. That is the similar problem that Pleasure P, a fine singer has on his impressive debut THE INTRODUCTION OF MARCUS COOPER. Let's face it, many have come and gone and with a stagnant economy hurting CD sales and further limiting the commercial viability of the new artist, you wonder where someone like Jeremih stands. Working in his favor is one sexy, catchy first single, "Birthday Sex", which may very well propel Jeremih past the other struggling newbies in the R&B game. Personally, JEREMIH is well rounded in my eyes, if at times a bit too repetitive for my tastes. Too often do remnants of The-Dream's repetitive brand of R&B appear here and it isn't The-Dream performing it. That aside, there is no reason for Jeremih to hang his head on this fine first outing.

Jeremih's producer, friend Mick Schultz has certainly been listening and studying his urban music. The productions on the album are fine, if copy-cat at times. But with first albums usually sporting downgraded production (from up and coming, no-name producers, respectively), this album is a treat as Mick successful "models" and embodies the popular "urban-sound" of today. "That Body" is a fantastic opener, exploiting Jeremih's lovely tenor vocals. "Birthday Sex", the "meat" of JEREMIH is exceptionally produced and has the distinction of sounding different from most other R&B songs on the radio. Sure, it is oft-compared to J. Holiday's "Bed", but in my eyes, it has a bit of a different spin and overall sound. I don't know how memorable "Birthday Sex" will be in years to come, but it is certainly one of the most recognizable singles of 2009.

"Break Up To Make Up" is another solid production showcase, as well as another strong performance by Jeremih. "Runway", similarly keeps up the momentum, with Schultz and Jeremih presenting their "A" game. "Raindrops" lays equally well as anything else, serving as another sexualized urban showcase, not as quite as catchy as "Birthday Sex", but equally sensual with mammoth drums and wah-wah synths. "Starting Over" is the first sincere ballad of the album aka not exploiting Jeremih's lovemaking plans for the ladies. Here, Jeremih's vocals are great and you can hear the exact reason why he was signed.

"Imma Star" is perfect for the clubs, in which Jeremih definitely whose his swagger off. "Jumpin'" and "Hatin' On Me" seem like repeats of songs written and rewritten over and over to some capacity by other artists, but like everything else on JEREMIH, they are definitely more than filler material by all means. "My Sunshine" is pleasant if the slightest bit bland. "My Ride", "Buh Bye", and a "Bonus" remix of "Birthday Sex" are less alluring, making Jeremih's self-titled album fall off the slightest bit. The positive thing is, Jeremih has already proved he has some chops and talent. The problem I as a listener and musician am left with is, is JEREMIH enough to truly establish Jeremih as more than a one-hit wonder? Only time will tell. As for me, 4 stars is appropriate for this debut.

Not as good as I thought it would be. It's maybe 4 out of the 13 tracks that are good including the song birthday sex. Most of the songs are kinda annoying to me. Other than that I do not too much care for it. If you haven't brought it yet save your money and skip this one.

Thought the album was very good. What can you say. Birthday Sex. Wow, Amazon is amazing with the digital download prices. No more store buys for me. Back to the album, he just has a nice voice & he carries it well. I suggest anyone read about this guy, cause he not only is a good singer but very smart graduating from Highschool at a young age & attending college. Looks like he could have a bright future ahead of him.

After hearing how different this man's voice was, I was more than excited to see what he would come up with and unfortunately it's a huge disappointment.

Upon hearing "Birthday Sex" I thought Jeremih was here to bring R&B back but unfortunately he's no different than the stars out today talking about flossing and haters.

The only song that I find myself bopping my head to was Break Up to Make Up which he talks about what is the point in breaking up with a woman when they'll just get back together but then tracks like Imma Star, Hatin' on Me and My Ride fall short. Sound more like he should be a rapper with the songs he chose to put on the album. There are no real ballads on the album, after listening to his voice I even found myself saying that he can't sing.

Good luck to him on his future but for a debut, he really flopped in my opinion. I've already taken it out of my car deck.
